favorite thing about summer :: Probably the freedom. There aren't any schedules; you can wake up when you're comfortable, without that horrible feeling you get from being forced out of bed before you've gotten enough sleep. You have three months do do what you want, whether it be using your time efficiently (ha) or just laying around having days where you do absolutely nothing at all. Although in the summer, you end up missing school after a month or two, and during school, you miss summer, so we always want what we can't have.

Well, after months of waiting for the weather to warm up after the bitter coldness, I really love summer because it is only then that I could fully acknowledge the heavenly taste of ice cream (cookies and cream!). It's currently winter in Australia where I am, and gosh, icecream turns me into a walking popsicle. I really love summer because it is also the time for my year awaited summer break! This means that I get no assignments, home work, tests, but I get the whole 6 weeks to waste in movie time, meeting up with friends and fatty foooods! Of course, being summer, I could no longer have the thicker clothes I wear in winter to cover up my summer belly, but its totally worth it!!!

favorite thing about summer: Finally getting a chance to be alone. Don't get me wrong I love hanging out with friends but I also have a very talk active family. Beginning of the summer when they are still working I can finally go out and read a book and just be quiet and alone. It is a nice thing to do every once a year.

My favorite thing about summer is that we get a break form the cold, since Canada only has:
- Cold winter
- Extremely cold winter
- Cool winter
- Warmish winter
Our family might even go traveling to somewhere extremely hot. I usually go outside but for some reason I always get sick around summer so I surf the internet until I get better. I'm not much of an active person so I tend to to stay inside, I also hate getting tan so I stand in the shade whenever I can.

After Mt. Shasta, we drove by it during one of our road trips, and I really liked the name

favorite thing about summer: The family road trip!
Every summer; for the first two weeks of august; me, my sister, my mom, and all the junk we bring with us, is all crammed into her small car. My sister plays on her Ipod or Ds in the back, my mom drives; occasionally providing a witty remark that causes a hilarious conversation, and I'm our navigator. As navigator, I make sure my mom doesn't turn off the highway early, and try my best to prevent us getting lost; this job keeps me in the passenger seat, so I'm also in charge of music.
When I don't need to direct my mom, or find a good song, I'll either read, draw, or attempt to nap.
We've been to some amazing places during our road trips, Writing on stone park, Disneyland, the San Diego zoo, to San Francisco, up the Oregon coast, and even to a potato museum in Idaho.
Our road trip has us on horrible hours, but we're never actually exhausted until we get home. By that time we're sick of being on the road, eating sour keys and popcorn, sleeping in motel rooms that are either haunted or where someone was murdered (or so my mom says), seeing mutant marshmallows (don't ask), and merrily singing 'Home for a rest' by Spirit of the west, as loud as we can, incredibly happy to see the familiar landmarks near where we live.
Our road trip is always the best part of my summer.
