Why the name Kin Saionji
Meaning:
Kin: Gold in Japanese
Saionji: west, park and temple
When you put the words The Golden Park in the West Temple, it sounds like a description of heaven. So, her name basically means heaven.
The reason why I picked the odd name Kin Saionji is not because I have an obsession with Japanese culture or because it sounds exotic. Part of the reason is because of the Dangan Ronpa character Hiyoko Saionji. In the game, Hiyoko is a traditional dancer who is also the heir to the Saionji Clan. Before we go on, it must be noted that even though they have the same last name, they aren't very alike at all and Kin is not a copy of Hiyoko. Here is the list to show the only similarities between the two.
•They are both in the Saionji Clan
•They are both traditional Japanese Dancers
•They are both mischievous and cause trouble
•They both like gummy candy (Kin likes worms while Hiyoko like bears)
•They both call their older friends "Big Bro" or "Big Sis"
Other then that, the two are very different. Back on the topic of Hiyoko, she looks very cute and acts cute too. However, she is very impish and mean because if she doesn't act tough people will pick on her and be mean to her. Saionji is a really cute character but because of her tough exterior people see her as ugly, a demon and other very nasty names. I thought this was an interesting character that gave me the idea for Kin: a character that acts impish, but truly isn't. They just need someone to come for them and comfort them. To love them no matter what. To hug and kiss them and to tell them it's alright. If you have someone in your life like this, you most certainly find them, if anything, an angel.
Because of this, that's what I what Kin to be. Kin will be mean and mischievous at first glance, but she has a good reason to be. She's constanly stressed and pressured. Her parents know she's an angel and has a lot of duties to do, but because she is the heir she still has to do her earthly duties with no breaks, no fun. They don't pay attention to her, and they don't even hug her.
Now after knowing that, don't you feel sympathetic and want to give her all your love? However, don't. Kin does not need sympathy; she needs someone to appreciate her through all her faults and flaws. Someone who will be there when she laughs and when she cries, and in turn, Kin will be there for you, cheering you on and comforting you. Doesn't that sound great to have a friend like that? That's the type of feeling I want Kin to give off. So when Kin starts getting loved on by others just like you it'll probably cheer you up. You'll cheer for her as she matures (but not ages) and be proud of what she has become. That, is true happiness, and what Kin stands for.
Happiness for others feelings and growth. Being proud that they overcome all those bumps in the road to become something greater.
I hope that my form, ((all four parts of it of course)) are enjoyable and not a bore to read! Thank you so much for reading!
