❝ by being yourself you put something great into the world that was not there before ❞
Hi there. My name's Charlotte,
but I'm better known as Charz. I'm a DJ
and graffiti-addict, but most of all I love
the spotlight.

I N T E R V I E W--T I M E !
My words will be in this colour,Charlotte speaks in this colour.
"Hello, I'm interviewing worldwide DJ, Charz!
At last. Everyone's been dying to hear from you, Charz. So, tell
us a little about yourself."
"Hey." -Smiles- "It's great to
be here. Well, as you know, my name is Charlotte. I'm a DJ,
I've just finished my Ambitions tour. Obviously, I'm a girl, but
you knew that." -Laughs-
"Awesome! Tell us a little something about your
music, and your latest tour. It was the Ambitions tour, and it
was definitely one of your most popular, wasn't it?"
-Nods- "The tour was tough, though.
Expectations were high, and that always kick-starts a little
anxious part of me. I think the biggest crowds were in Helsinki.
It's always a little shock to see so many fans, every time.
I never can accept the fact so many people like my music. I couldn't
pull any of this off without all the people who helped me when
I was starting off."
"That's sweet. Now, let us in on a little of the
back story, will you? What formed this punk DJ star? I heard
you were a bit of a rebel, actually." -Winks-
-Blinks- "Oh, really? I don't
know if that's the word for it." -Smirks- "Well, I grew up hating
school and neglecting homework like most beans my age.
Nothing new, nothing special. I hung in a group with my three
friends, and every teacher looked past me, looked past us,
looked on to the ones who were in the eye of attention.
The spotlight. My friends didn't care one bit. It didn't bother
them, the life of sitting in the shadows. It doesn't bother
most beans, actually. But it kinda hurt." -Taps chest- "It kinda
hurt in here." -Shrugs- "Just a bit, at first. I watched things go
by for a while, until I reached fourteen. I was walking home
from school, and a wall by my house was tagged. Y'know,
with spray paint. My friends thought it was disgusting and a
mess, but in my eyes, it was beautiful. A simple yet dramatic
work of art that brought life and talent out of the darkness."
"So, this is what triggered that tiny part of you
that yearned for freedom and attention?"
"Yeah. The next night, I
actually bought some spray paint and began to plan."
"I trust there is a deep, musical aspect to all of
this?"
-Grins- "You guessed it. I'd
always loved music, too, y'know. Music and art were my kind
of thing. They were ways of expressing emotion in a powerful
way that no other action could. It amazed me, and it still
does now, how something so basic can contain so much
feeling."
"So, this planning you did involved music?"
-Flicks hair innocently-
"Maybe." -Chuckles- "I wrote a song."
"Before you go any further, can you tell us a
bit about this song, please?"
Sure. It was kind of like
a cry for help. I wrote it on guitar at the time to keep it
simple. It was so soft, so quiet, and it slowly increased in
tempo. As in, it got louder, faster, more dramatic. But slowly.
It grew more sullen, more dark. Then it skyrocketed, a beast
escaping it's cage and beginning to wreak havoc. I wrote this
song, and with pride I did so. It was every thought I had ever
had in one song, and I felt more accomplished than I ever had
before. This was my plan - to share my accomplishment with
the world. But there was only one way to do so, and that was
the other form of creativity that I loved so much. Art."
"Do I detect the start of the rebellion here?"
"Once again, I wouldn't use
that word. That's the word that blends the creativity of art
and music into the darkness of trouble and crime. However,
I understand where you come from with that, and I guess I
cannot deny that I begin a form of silent rebellion at this
time. I spray painted a blunt brick wall outside my school.
But I wanted it to stand out more than anything, so I picked
a colour that you can't look past."
-Gestures to Charlotte's hair and accessories-
"Couldn't possibly be pink, could it?"
"It's noticeable, isn't it?
Bright, flashy, unforgettable. It drills a picture into your mind
that you can't get rid of. That's the beauty of it. I sprayed the
whole wall pink, and then clashed it with black to make it even
more eye-burning. I wrote out the entire song in treble clef,
and illustrated it with emotions."
"I don't want to accept it, but I know what's coming."
-Sighs- "It was bound to happen.
I was caught, taken in, parents called." -Perks up suddenly- "But
it was the only dip in my life to that moment. I may have fallen
down a very deep hole that night, but someone found me and
threw me a ladder." -Smiles affectionately out of the window in
thought-
"Oh really? Tell, tell!"
"There was this guy. Right,
please don't jump to any happy conclusions here. I'm single,
and therefore there is obviously no happy ending to this section
of the story." -Shakes head slowly-
"Oh, no. That's terrible."
"Maybe there'll be someone
else eventually, so I don't need to look back and mourn my first
relationship."
"I feel like we hit a sensitive part of you here.
How very unlike you."
-Blushes- "Oh, uh... Well,
the next day I met him on the way home from school. His name
was Skayt. He was super friendly, understood and took in every
word I said about wishing for the spotlight yet dreading the
aftermath. He seemed very understanding. But the one thing
he didn't understand was the deep heartfelt description I gave him
about art and music. He just saw them as useless things. You either
could or you couldn't. Some were better than others at it. They
were little things in life you could enjoy for a moment, but you
couldn't base your whole life around."
"Well, sitting here now, you sure proved him wrong!"
-Chews lip uncomfortably-
"Yeah, but I tried my best to get him to understand my view of
it. He just couldn't, though. However, I wouldn't let that ruin
what we had. We continued to meet one another after school,
go out on Fridays for dinner and sappy things like that, and
just genuinely have fun. Coming up is the second dip in my
life, but thankfully the last one you'll have to hear about."
-Twists headphone cable around claw mindlessly- "One night,
I wrote another song about the new feelings I felt. The general
overwhelming contentment and happiness that could last
forever (or so I thought). I once again had that great feeling
of accomplishment that needed sharing. So I tagged the newly
cleaned school wall again, in a similar fashion to my last spray
paint gig. When I got home, I felt great. I hadn't been caught.
I told Skayt about it, excitement dripping off every word. His
reaction was not what I'd hoped. He seemed horrified, and when
I'd asked him why, he told me I was risking a career that could be
spent on things that actually meant something. I told him this
meant something to me, and that I wished he'd respect that..."
-Eyes cloud slightly- "Sorry, it's the lighting."
"Uhuh... Okay, can you continue?" -Pats
Charlotte's arm gently-
"Yeah, I'm cool."
-Sniffs, pulling arm away stubbornly- "He told the
police. They told me this was my final warning,
and if I dared touch another spray paint can, I would
be sitting behind bars. I just think... Skayt seemed so
nice and caring, how could he turn so harsh on me all
of a sudden?"
"This seems like a new you, Charlotte."
-Growls, shaking
fringe back over her eyes- "After that, I just shook off
every little problem that came my way. I was alone
on my journey again, and I could pursue the career of
music in peace."
"You know, you're not alone when you
have your fans. They're all there for you."
"I know, I know."
"It was awesome getting to know so
much about the you behind the headphones and DJ deck."
"Uhuh." -Offers paw-
-Returns handshake- "Well, good luck!
Your tour was fantastic, it left your fans dying for more.
Hopefully, you can find inspiration and blast out a new
set of records for a album to perform as another tour!"
-Grins- "Of course
I will. For the fans."
