Personality: Arlyn is the type of equid whose soul matches her coat. Soft-spoken and gentle, Arlyn is a spirit naturally full of light and hope. She's very welcoming and loving, and still retains much of the innocence she had as a foal. Arlyn loves the feeling of community, even despite her shyness; she tries her best to always be optimistic, and always sees the best in others rather than the worst. She loves to jump, and when it comes to competitions, she tends to get a little overexcited at times and often talks too much because of it.
On her down side, Arlyn has been known to have pretty low self esteem. She often sells herself short of her true potential, and can be easily hurt mentally as she's intensely critical of herself. She can sometimes be awkward around new acquaintances and isn't confident when speaking to them.

As a foal, Arlyn fell into a short cavern, twisting her ankle and rendering herself unable to move. It was small, dark and damp, and her only companion was a massive wolf spider that wasn't quite happy with the presence of his guest. This created her three "learned" phobias. The last, her fear of snakes she was born with; she just can't stand how they move and slither across the ground.

Wild or Domestic?: Domestic; she was rescued from her cavern prison by a human by the name of Amethyst, who nursed her back to health and raised her from a foal.

Companion: Arlyn's companion is a young zebra filly by the name of Chaya. Chaya was a young orphan adopted by Amethyst, and hadn't been able to find a suitable adoptive mother. Arlyn chose her partially because of Chaya's big, puppy-dog green eyes, and the other part because Arlyn has always wanted to be a mother. And, due to being sterile and unable to breed, Arlyn could never truly have a daughter of her own. Well, with Chaya, Arlyn gets to raise her and care for her as if Chaya really was her daughter.
Brief History: (scattered throughout the form, pasted here for easy reading~)
Arlyn was born wild, in the forests surrounding the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Her parents rejected her after the first nursing, due to her abnormal coat and believing something to be seriously wrong with her. She taught herself to walk, and went stumbling after her parents in an attempt to catch up. Eyes still blurry from birth, she slipped and tumbled into a cavern (see phobias). She neighed all night for her mother, but gained no response. Continuing into the morning though, now weak and dehydrated, she was found by Amethyst who was out on a trail ride. Amethyst was able to eventually gain her trust and carry the filly home, where she nursed her back to health and raised her. Arlyn became attached to the human, and opted to stay with her instead of returning to the wild.
