What is a Kora?
A Kora is a large feline largely resembling a leopard or lion. All Koras have a fluffy dorsal mane, starting from the end of the tail and ending at the crown of the head, falling over the face. Their faces are broad, like a lion, but they have wider eyes adapted to seeing in the dark. Koras have large, tufted tails. We have yet to know what the purpose of such an ornamental tail would be. Koras have long, waterproof fur, good for keeping out water and unfavorable temperatures. Much like their ancestors, the cheetah, snow leopard, and lion, all Koras have spots almost covering their bodies. Occasionally they may be more sparse, but they will always have them for the purpose of camouflage in their harsh wild habitat.

All Koras are given a necklace with a large pendant when they reach the age of two years. This pendant fits their looks and usually says something about their personality as well. The necklaces are custom colored to match or accent the fur color of the particular Kora wearing it.

[Korona Knight]

My name is Korona Knight, as many know. There are a few things about me that stand out; one, I love to write; two, I love colors; three, there's never been a time that I had not been excited about a new Kora coming out; four, the irony in the fact that my nickname is the same as this species name has left me giddy to no bounds; and five, I have dedicated a lot of my time to these species. My forms are never all that pretty, and my coding is never extravagant, but I try my best, and I hope it shows when it comes to Koras I really desperately want.

I have decided that if I were to become the owner of this little Kora, the name adorned upon its head would be Lumina, or Lumi for short. Luminosus is the Laitn word for colorful, so with a bit of tweaking, I was able to come up with a wonderful name for such a colorful creature.

I definitely see this Kora as a female. For a moment, I contemplated her as a male, and I really just couldn't see it, unless I wanted yet another "emo" Kora {Nero would be very jealous if he had any competition}, so I decided that female she would be. I think the colors would suit her well as a female, especially since she is a pastel rainbow and not a bold rainbow.

Ah, so we're starting with her dislikes, eh? Alright, I suppose I'll entertain you by starting Lumi's dislikes.

• Lumi hates anything that lacks color. She is very color oriented, and things without color cause her mental harm. She was also completely color-blind as a cub, and therefore she's always scared she'll have a relapse.
• She cannot stand poor designing. Along with her color orientation, Lumi is a designer at heart. When she sees things that just do not go together, it's all she can do from ripping whatever it is to shreds.
• Lumi hates hate. To put it simply, Lumi can't stand drama or when people get upset with each other. It annoys her and makes her physically ill.
• Kites. Yes, Lumi hates kites. Why? They scare her. It's an irrational, odd fear, but if a kite were to come near her or if she can see one in the sky, anxiety and panic attacks are sure to follow.
• Bitter foods. Lumi cannot stand vegetables or any other bitter food. Like her colors might suggest, this Kora cannot have anything bland or anything that might be remotely bad. Only good can go into this Kora's body.
• Bullies. With her fiesty personality, this Kora won't stand it to have bullies around. If she sees another Kora being bullied, she's by far the first to stick up for them.
• Authority. Believe it or not, Lumi has a bit of a fear of authority. When she sees human police or figures that demand her respect, she becomes shaky and soft-spoken, something completely like her. She's never gotten in trouble before, and that's where many think the fear stems from, since she doesn't want to get in trouble.
• Loud noises. Loud music is fine, but if something suddenly falls right behind her and makes a loud noise, she'll be to the other end of the forest in no time at all to get away from it. Even if it was only a stick.
• Others knowing about her fears. Lumi hates letting people know her fears. She has this idea that everyone will try and use her fears against her.
• The dark. Though her markings are bright enough that they could glow, they don't, leaving this Kora completely scared out of her mind in completely darkness.
• Snakes. Though Lumi tries to pass it off that she can do whatever a male Kora can do, snakes are one thing that Lumi has a very hard time with. She'd rather wrestle a crocodile before going near a baby snake.

For as many dislikes as she has, Lumi has some likes as well.

• Lots of color. With a pelt like hers, it would be impossible to hate color!
• Butterflies. If she could, Lumi would chase around butterflies all the time and just sit there and watch them. Butterfly houses are her favorite whenever she is taken to see a zoo.
• Love. It is Lumi's dream to fall in love with a handsome Kora one day, and she always embraces the love from her friends as well.
• Lightning bugs. At night, one of her many comforts are lightning bugs. Their beautiful glowing light reminds her of a sky down on earth, with the stars close enough you can touch them.
• Sweet and sour foods. Sweet and sour foods are Lumi's favorites; especially candy. If she could, she'd eat candy every hour of every day.
• Friendship. Lumi loves making friends, and with every chance, she'll do her best to treat all her friends the same.
• Equality. This Kora is all about equality. She believes every Kora has a right to do whatever they want and shouldn't be oppressed just because of their gender, their colors, or any disabilities they might have.
• Large crowds and parties. Always the social butterfly, Lumi can't help it but enjoy parties and large crowds, where she can meet just about everyone.
• Sleeping. All of Lumi's energy has to come from somewhere!
• Males and females. Lumi won't go and tell everyone, but if asked, she will tell you that she is bisexual and prefers the company of both males and females.
• Mud. Just one warning - never let Lumi near a mud puddle or a "mud mountain". The dirt will take weeks to clean out.

When Lumi was born, she was completely colorblind. It was a real shame, too, as she had one of the most colorful pelts out there. She had no siblings, so she became the spoiled only child of her ever-loving parents.
As she matured, Lumi slowly began to see color. It was dull and unnatural at first, but every day, the colors grew brighter and brighter. Even now, she is still attaining more and more colors, seeing beyond what any other Kora can see as she sees colors that only delicate butterflies can see.
Lumi is a headstrong Kora. She feels sympathy only for those she believes deserve it, and is often heard saying that if everyone sucked up their every day "problems", everything would improve by tenfold. Though very tomboy-ish, Lumi still has a girly, dainty side to her, much like the youngest female kitten on Aristocrats. She's very good at playing innocent, even when it is her fault a good majority of the time.

Lumi's tail swished lately in the breeze, her pay laying gently in the water that pooled before her. Every time she flicked her paw, clear water would splash up, and for some reason, this fascinated the young Kora.
"Lumi, come on!" her mother called, standing still as she waited for Lumi to come to her side. Lumi's mother was blind from birth, and in Lumi's eyes, this made her mother a better person, because she based what she thought of people on what she heard them say and who they actually were, not just how they looked.
"I'm here," Lumi purred, nuzzling her mother's slender leg. Lumi herself was completely colorblind, having never seen what her pelt looked like, nor her mother's, but she was told both of them were beautiful.
Lumi's father padded over to them, licking the top of his mate's head before nuzzling Lumi, nearly knocking her over. Her father was one of the biggest male Koras in their pride, and this always brought joy to Lumi, as she wished to be as big as him one day.
Lumi saw her father just as he was, because his pelt was completely devoid of color, his markings in grays and blacks. Many had shied away from him as he was considered dull and boring. Lumi's mother was able to see past that all as she couldn't actually see him, and she loved him for who he was.

Colors dancing on the breeze
shifting through my mane
