Story:
There are things that you'll never forget.
The way your eyes flutter to keep open, the way they burn, but freeze at the same time, and the way the tears make your sight decrease, and you wonder why you did not run against anything, while they run down your cheeks in small streams, dropping off after they reach your chin.
When the time seems to stand still, but fast forward at the same time, your limbs numb from the cold, and the icy daggers bathing them in pain.
Your eyes pinched shut, letting the water rinse down your face, covering it with liquid salt.
Running faster and faster even as you know it is much to late, not daring to look behind you, look towards the past, you need to keep going.
The past is what you want to forget, the present is what you mourn for, the future is what holds your last shreds of hope.
Feel the cold breath in your neck, breath of endless sleep.
Feel the fear, the hope, the agony, feel as long as you still can.
Feel how sorrow overwhelms you, how your inner wants to scream.

The grip is loosening, the thread threatened to snap, the connection getting weaker and weaker, your loved one at loss.
All you have left to laugh about, all you have left to smile about, hanging,
a loose thread.
All you wish for in this freezing night, is the terror gone, knowing the one worth more than your own life, warm and safe.
Wishing for it to be over when you open your fearful eyes, it to be over in this dreadful night.
You push the last bit of hope, the last bit of energy out, reaching for the light in the horrendous darkness, feeling the warmth.
Wishing for the warmth.

Breath whistling, eyes opened wide, kneeling down as the world fades.
Holding their head, whispering their name, the last bit of hope.
Pale brown light, the light of warmth and earth, covering you with chuckles, swirling and glowing.
Whispering helplessly, screaming innerly, whining as you can say no more.
Tears rushing faster and faster, light pulsing brighter and brighter, warmth and life you wish to pass on.
Your loved one, your last hope, the one you laugh about, the one you smile about, and their thread so close to ripping.
