Cottonwood Ranch Jousting Tournament Horse #2

Postby ImmyWimmy1 » Fri Oct 18, 2013 9:09 am

The first mare up for adopt! She's a Bay with a Star and Snip. Her colours are Forest Green and Copper Orange, with her symbol being the Rearing Stag.

Barn Name: "Libby"
Age: 7 years
Gender: Mare
Breed: American Quarter Horse
Colouration: Bay, with a Star and Snip
Personality: Quirky is the usual definition of Libby. Spirited, inquisitive, and a bit jumpy, she is always getting into something. She's an expert at undoing latches and gate locks, and can commonly be found running loose or snarfing down grain in the open tack room. She has somewhat upright placed shoulders, causing her to have a slightly short stride, also making her neck arch and look impressive for show.
History: Bought from a common quarter horse farm at the age of 18 months, Libby was initially trained as a barrels horse. She became a pro at cloverleaf, climbing the ranks at competitions statewide. By the age of five, she was entered in a national championship, only to have her career turned around by a freak accident: a door to the trailer slammed while unloading and she spooked, and by trying to rear in the trailer she slipped and bashed her spine against the bar behind her. Fractured, they hauled Libby away to the hospital, dreams dashed. She was sold cheaply at an auction to an elderly couple, who kept her as a pasture pet with seven other unwanted horses. At the age of nine, Libby's owners had to move into a small apartment, and the horses sold once more. Libby, out of shape, muddy, and unruly, was passed over by potential owners. One day, at long last, a 34 year old man looked into the stall. The beaten down horse looked up, and a spark flew between their gazes. The man saw a natural competitor under the dark mask, a horse afraid of nothing. Libby once more passed hands, and after only 6 months of prepping and training was once more a beautiful mare, dazzling in forest green and sunrise orange, and charging fearlessly into a mock battle that felt all so real and exhilarating to her.
What does the Rearing Stag symbolize?: The stag is a symbol of integrity and bravery: to never back down from a challenge, and to then play out an honest and gracious battle.
Other: This mare looks exactly like my favorite mare at my neighbor's riding stable. Color, markings, personality, and breed exact. I named her after that mare too (not the show name, just the barn name :3)
