A Jewel Mane Dragon is a large creature with jewels on their foreheads and tails.They eat mostly small mammals such as birds, squirrels, and rabbits. The fur on their back, hind, and front legs feel like the softest of silk and is pretty short. The fur around their neck (Also know as their mane) and tail is very soft, fluffy, and long. Jewel mane Dragons mostly keep to themselves but when they find someone they like the grow very attached, loyal, and talkative. They're all slightly bigger than a mustang but some grow to be as large as a elephant. All Jewel Mane Dragons have jewels at the end of their tail and on their forehead, there's really no exception to that rule. The jewel on their tail is used as a weapon in combat and hunting, while the jewel on their forehead is used during mating season to attract females.

I know, I know. My name is probably the most uncreative name you can possibly have for somebody of my kind. But, that's my name. My body has the shades of the gem amethyst, my elemental jewel on my tail and forehead are golden like... gold, and my eyes are neon-emerald green. I love my name though.

A golden locket

The reason:

The thing I treasure beyond words and anything in my life, is a locket. This locket it made entirely of gold, with a gorgeously designed chain. The front had a heart engraved into it with an amethyst in the center.
But the value doesn't make it special. It's that inside is a group picture of all my friends, in perfect detail of the most stunning photography. It was bought for me on my birthday with all their combined money, and upon its surface it was kissed by each and every one of them. It is so precious to me, and I only wear it on special events, especially weddings.

An explanation to why I’d like named her that:
I love the soft lavender swirls (they remind me of veins), and purple is one of my favorite colors. I think that the most striking thing about this JMD are her stunning green eyes and gold jewel. The stone, Jade reminds me of her eyes (and is what I want to make her middle name). I believe that ‘Aurelia’ means ‘gold’ in a language (not sure though, but it sounds nice).

Aurelia has almost always had her charm bracelet, which (sort of) matches the colors of her eyes and gem. She treasures this above any other object, even though she isn’t the biggest fan of jewelry. Passed on by her mother and other ancestors, it is still in pristine condition. She uses her bracelet as a reminder of her parents, and as a ‘lucky charm’ when she needs it. She doesn’t know what makes her treasure her bracelet so much, but she just does.

→A simple, silver necklace with an amethyst charm in the shape of a flower.


The reason:
→Kanya grew up with other siblings as the middle child, and tended to be forgotten, sometimes literally, sometime metaphorically. She always felt she was an outside to her own family, even as she grew older and less childish. Her other siblings always got the cool things; presents and trinkets and baubles and such. She never really got anything of value. Kanya always bit her jealousy, though; she loved her siblings, and didn't feel it was right to have a petty jealousy. Until, one day, she couldn't help it. Her sister recieved a beautiful amethyst flower pendant. Bitter and unhappy, Kanya left, sulking by an oak tree. After a while, her sister joined her, smiled faintly, and dropped the necklace in front of Kanya. Shocked, Kanya took it.
It's special to her because from that day she new someone really cared for her and cared for her feelings. She wears it every day to honor her sister's love for her.

An item they treasure very much:
Chizru owns a small necklace with a very small paper crane in it.

The reason:
Chizru's name means "thousand cranes." When she was born, her mother and all her family and friends made a thousand paper cranes that would belong to her, as cranes symbolize long life in Japan. Once they had all the paper cranes made, and in the jar, her grandmother came over with one last paper crane, not knowing they had already made all thousand of them. They didn't want to put it in the jar with the other thousand cranes, because, then there wouldn't be a thousand, which wouldn't have as great of a meaning. They didn't want to refuse the gift of this beautiful crane though, so delicately crafted and hardly the size of the nail on your smallest finger. To solve this, Chizru's mother found a tiny glass jar, and put the crane in it. She then tied the jar unto little Chizru's neck, giving her a tiny good luck charm that she could wear everywhere. Chizru still wears it to this day.

Fantasia's most treasured item is her quill pen. It is a hawk feather, brown, but shiny and strong, reliable for a writing utensil.

Why?;;

If you didn't assume already, Fantasia is mute. She cannot talk, but she wasn't always that way. When she was two, she learned how to write and discovered the magic of letting written words tell a story. From that day on, she refused to talk, only communicating with body language and her words on paper. Her parents became worried, and called over her beloved grandmother. Fantasia loved her grandmother and rejoiced, but still would not talk. Her grandmother, instead of trying to make her talk, like what her parents had tried to do, she smiled, and took a quill pen out of her purse. She set it down at Fantasia's paws gently and looked her in the eyes. Then she told her the story about the pen. "Now Fantasia, this pen is no ordinary quill. It has a story. One day, when I was as young as you, I went on a walk through the woods just outside my house. I was walking along the path, humming a tune, when a hawk swooped down and nearly hit me, but with its elegant precise steering, flew up and back into the trees, managing to not hit me. I looked at it in awe for a moment, then took off after it. I raced through the forest, scouring for the hawk. I saw it several times, but it flew off eventually, leaving me feeling defeat of losing the bird. I started to head back when I saw a feather on the forest floor. I looked at it closely, and concluded that it was from the same hawk I had been chasing. With glee, I ran home with the feather in my mouth. When I got home, I showed it to my dad proudly. He, being a great craft smith, took it and made it into a quill pen, the best quality possible. I used it to write everything, and now it is your turn. You, my dear, are a writer. You will carry on its legacy. Make me proud, and use this quill to make a story. A wonderful story, for I know you can do it." Fantasia looked at her grandmother in awe, and picked it up. She has never written with anything else.
