Lyra is, to put it bluntly, an abnormally quiet individual. She hardly utters a sound save for the occasional chuff of annoyance. Some might actually believe that she is mute after getting to know her, because she doesn't actually reply with her voice; she merely communicates through her body language and subtle glances. She does indeed have a voice, but barely uses it because she is, deep down inside, fearful of angering others around her. That little insecurity of hers is mostly due to her past. Her past owner beat and mistreated her whenever she barked to express any type of emotion, be it pain or joy. Lyra was originally a very playful and vocal hound, headstrong but extremely easy to be around and immensely joyful about anything in life, but over the course of her time spent with her first owner, she slowly deteriorated, in mind, body, and soul. Of course, she managed to escape from her previous owner's grasp, and got the help she most desperately needed, but she was never the same. She hardly ever spoke again. Lyra tries to cover up her insecurity to appear stronger than she actually is and tells others who have actually heard her speak that she doesn't talk or bark much because she doesn't have a lot to say.

But even with her insecurities, Lyra is actually a very kind hound. She has a tendency to be selfless of other dogs and animals, and she's always willing to lend a paw. Due to her pleasant nature, she seems to be able to attract any individual to her with a gentle look or understanding smile, and she makes many life-long friends that way, as well as admirers and attracts humans that see her as a potential "man's best friend." Even so, Lyra feels that she can't actually be loved in that manner, due to her past and she already feels that asking for her friends' love is selfish in itself. Seeing other hounds better than herself seemingly, she is constantly discouraged, and feels that no human will love her in that way because she isn't "outgoing", "playful", or even "talkative" enough. Even so, Lyra still longs for an owner that would hold her close and never let her go. Lyra actually feels slightly envious whenever she sees other dogs with such loving owners. Lyra just wants to find that special human who would hopefully help her find her voice once more.

And yet, along with her kind nature, Lyra also has a few odd quirks of her own. She's keenly observant of her surroundings, self, and others, and is quick to figure out and notice things long before others. She is also highly intelligent, and that is one trait that she is actually quite proud of. Lyra is actually known to be sarcastic in her actions, and she often expresses her own brand of dry humor laced with kindness around anyone she knows or meets. Lyra can also be surprisingly blunt when the occasion calls for it, and she is oddly very headstrong and stubborn for someone with her personality. When she has her mind set on something, it is nearly impossible to sway her. And Lyra loves to run, whether the terrain be flat or virtually vertical. And once she starts, she sometimes doesn't stop until she collapses. Running seems to be the only true time where she feels complete and carefree with the wind in her face and her heart racing wildly. While she doesn't utter a sound while running, her eyes and her joyful expression speaks volumes. So if you decide to challenge Lyra to a race, expect to be beaten. Horribly.

why did you choose this pic? Lyra reminds me a lot of a butterfly with damaged wings. She accepted the help of others in her time of greatest need, and they nursed her back to health, but she was never truly comfortable enough to spread her wings once more and become like her old self. Lyra needs that little push from that one special human to take flight. That, and the colors match. .3. (Not the pattern, though. X3)

personality: Bovino is a very sweet and fun-loving dog.
She can be very shy with new people but once you gain her trust
she will never leave your side. She enjoys running but has a
fear of tight places due to her past. She used to be a racing dog
but she was always crammed in small cages with other dogs. Bo has a
soft-spot for puppies. Bo has never met a dog she didn't like.

This precious girl is very down to earth- if it is time for food, she'll beg and whine, if she hasn't had a walk, she'll be down in the dumps. She's based on one of my dogs, LOL! Anyways, she is hyper and energetic, too. I have loved this species from the start but I must say, Jazz is vezzy lonely

personality: Rahne is very spunky, and has a weird way of getting rid of excess energy; she barrel races! Yep, all by herself. Rahne just loves the thrill of trying to beet her own time racing around those three barrels. She also loves more dog-like things, such as walks and playing catch with a Frisbee.
