About gender...I think a male is what most suits the name I have found.
And as personality...
Marmaduke Black is a most serious Dragon, gentle andnot very talkative, letting only the essential words escape his mouth - so people don't find him very sociable, although deep in his heart he is striving for friends - the problem is that he doesn't know how to find some.
