“I think that we are like stars. Something happens to burst us open; but when we burst open and think we are dying; we’re actually turning into a supernova. And then when we look at ourselves again, we see that we’re suddenly more beautiful than we ever were before!”

Nova truly believes she's from the future. According to her, she came to the twenty first century in a prototype time machine and became stranded when it was damaged in a test run. Much like an old veteran tells stories of the past, Nova tells others of the wonders from the future. Many don't believe her seemingly incredulous tales, but Nova doesn't bother much with these types. Instead, she prefers to acquaint herself with minds open enough to consider she may be telling the truth. To those narrow-minded heads that scream "impossible!" she simply scoffs and says, "The whole universe is one big possibility." As you can imagine, Nova is a firm believer of the supernatural. Ghosts, Nessie, trolls, why couldn't they be real? And don't even get her started on aliens, or she'll rattle off on you about her best friend from the future being an alien. For a future girl, Nova can be rather geeky. She loves playing video games, and you'll often find her with her eyes glued to a screen trying to beat the high score. Space is the only thing Nova loves more than gaming. A telescope on a clear night is paradise for her.

I can't believe it. I can't believe this is really happening. It seems like it was only yesterday when I got the digital letter that would make my dreams come true. But now, just a few short months and a drab series of trainings later, I'm going to be the first Jellybean Dragon ever to travel through time. I'm so excited, I was hardly able to sleep last night! The ITS decided on my destination two weeks ago, the twenty first century. I'll only be there a little while as a test, and I'll have to keep a boring log of pretty much everything (Note to self: Delete this log entry before turning it into the Institute when I get back), but this is all just so amazing, I don't think I'll even mind. I better get ready, the launch starts at 9:00 AM sharp and I definitely won't want to be late for this.

Oh my gosh, it worked, I'm really here! I'm really in the past! I don't know the exact location, but who cares about the where, all that's important is the when. I said earlier I couldn't believe it was real, but now I can. Time travel is really possibly and I'm really almost half a century in the past. It's a bit of a shame I'm only here for a couple days. But at least this means that the ITS will be able to launch more and hopefully longer missions. And hey, if all else fails, I do have a time machine. I could stay here for a year and they'd probably never notice (Note to self #2: Forget the first note and just revise the whole log before going back). Either way, I need to make my time here worth it.

Wow, everything's gone by so fast I've completely forgotten about my log until now! I hope this doesn't affect my chances of getting another mission.
That aside, I found out my time machine landed in a place called Sunset View Park. It's luckily in a pretty secluded part of the park surrounded by lots of trees, so no one would be able to find and steal it (Of course, I still activated the security system just in case). With the time machine secured, I was able to take my first steps into the world of the twenty first century, and what interesting first steps they were! So much has changed-- or rather, will change. Their cars don't hover off the ground like ours do, and they've only made manned space missions as far as the moon! But through all these changes, some things have stayed the same. I was able to talk to some Jellybean Dragons and it doesn't seem as though we've evolved to be much different from them. I'm really curious to see what else the past has to offer, but I just found out my time machine is programmed to automatically return to the future tomorrow at 7:00 AM. Guess the Institute figured I might be tempted to stay a bit longer. Ah well, at least I can enjoy this beautiful sunset on my last night. Now I know why they call it Sunset View Park.

Oh gosh...oh gosh oh gosh. I'm in deep water. The time machine broke! I don't know what happened...It was powering up just fine when suddenly, fwooosh! The control panel just blew. I took a peek at the wiring and they were covered in ice cream! I admit I may have been a little careless with dessert last night, but I didn't know they would make the wires explode. I was taught the basic maintenance in my training in case something happened, but it wasn't meant to fix this kind of damage. I don't know what to do! This technology is nearly 500 years more advanced than anything this time period has, it'd be a miracle to find anyone who can understand even the basic components. I know I said I wanted to stay here longer, but I didn't mean it like this! Oh, what a pickle I've gotten myself into...

Aliens
What can she say? Aliens fascinate her, they make her crave more knowledge, their whole "are we real or what?" factor to them.
Paranormal
Ahh, the other side. Again, with the whole "are we real?" factor to them, she just loves scary things, he adrenaline that she takes in from being in a haunted place, as if she absorbs the last of the spirits energy into herself. (if that made sense xD)
Video Games
Video games, she loves challenging herself with them Though she doesn't get to them now a days, with her obsession of "the other side" she has been recently investigating houses, and reading up on the aliens that threaten Earth every day. She doesn't get to them in her free time, and when she does, boy you better just quit.
Outer Space
It captivates her, the way, that we don't, and may never, know everything about outer space. Athena wants to one day explore where nobody else has, and come back successful to share her discoveries, and let everyone meet the Alien she will bring back. She plans on asking that alien if she can call it "Plato" after the Greek philosopher.
Dislikes
Too much seriousness
It just creeps her out. She would much rather be screaming on the top of her lungs to a song on top of a table while throwing shreded bits of homework into the air.
Water
She hates the feeling of when you are underwater. She has read and watched too many documentaries on the Titanic to ever want to go on a boat again, and she knows no one who has a pool. She even flinches while walking into the shower.. because she hates it.
Cats
They remind her too much of the girls she knows. Hissing, and scratching, and never being able to handle happiness.
Drawing
She just can't do it. everything has to be symmetrical, and perfect, and it just takes to much time, and is frustrating since her paws are as awkward as chicken legs.
