Owner Name:
AppyMountains
Name:
Nevaeh
Gender:
Female
Personality:
Somewhat pompous yet proud. She is headstrong and defiant. I can imagine her as a very intelligent and keen dragon, able to sense when people are frustrated. Nevaeh is also a bit troublesome, using her inky footprints to her advantage. She will step over your artwork or stories she doesn't approve of. She acts this way to hide her fragile body because she hates when people pity her.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
This would be my first rune, and after browsing many other adoptables, I kept thinking about these runes and their unique linearts. She stood out to me, because while nearly all the other runes had some colorful design, she was a solid black color and it was alluring, the same way so many CS user are drawn to the Black Advent. And though she is mainly one color, her features are still sharp. I am in love with her design-she has naturally 'curvy' lines, and her imperfections make her all the more perfect to me. I also love her inky features-it always seems to me as though she is never the same, always changing.
Where will you keep him/her:
I will definitely keep Nevaeh in both my signature and my trading thread as a reminder of the effort it took to create her (amazing job by the way :3) and as an inspiration to other CS user who may happen upon her.
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
I wouldn't mind breeding her, but she's the one you'll have to impress ^^
Any Quirks:
Nevaeh has an inclination to fly in circles, whether it be around someone or simply in the air.At certain time of day, she will remain motionless on a perch, staring off into the distance. I like to say she does this because that's how she stores up her 'inspiration fuel' but when I told her she inked me :[

Standing in my backyard, I steadily scribbled onto a notepad. It was dead winter, yet here I was, capturing the landscape instead of enjoying a nice hot chocolate back in the house. Sighing, I let my arms fall limp to my sides. Nationals...how in the world did I even get to nationals? I thought. Well it wont matter anyways now that I'm completely out of ideas... The category was 'Landscapes and Seascapes', but for the past few days I had been aimlessly wandering around, looking for inspiration but finding none. Even today I had been excited at the arrival of snow, waiting all day yesterday for it to stop so that I could go out and paint it, but now that I looked around, nothing interested me.
~
Shivering, I stepped off the patio onto the snow, feeling it crunch under my boots. Surveying the area, something caught my eye. Moving closer, I saw a single black drop on the white snow. That's strange, I mused, what is that... I glanced around, and noticed a few more black spots splattered in the snow. Okay I'm gonna find out who or what this is. Turns out, it wasn't that hard to find the marks nor was my detective desires satisfied. The black contrasted so much with the snow that I hardly had to search to find the next marks.
~
Abruptly, the spots stopped. I stared at the last spot, wondering if it was just some practical joke, when it hit me. Literally. A black substance splattered on the top of my head, causing me to flinch violently. Looking up, I saw...the strangest creature. It was a midnight black color, with piercing blue-grey eyes. Open mouthed, took in its strange blue markings, inky body, and dragon-like features. The creature look at me amusedly and ruffled it's wings. "What is it?" I thought aloud, but was immediately sprayed with ink. "OKAY OKAY SORRY" I spluttered "Him?" More ink came my way. "OKAY her?" The dragon nodded, seemingly satisfied. She flew down and circled around me, nudging my hands. "What? Oh this?" I said, showing her my notepad. She returned to her branch, staring at the little progress I had made on my sketch. Then suddenly, she swept off the branch in my direction. I winced, but miraculously, I wasn't hit. Cautiously opening my eyes, I saw the creature standing on my notepad, my page covered in ink. "Aw you ruined it" I said, upset. The creature merely looked at me, and once again I marveled at her beauty. "Well that sketch wasn't going anywhere anyways, so I guess I don't need it" I said, tearing the page off.
~
The dragon then took flight, circling above me as a vulture would. My eyes followed her movements, and I envied her. How exhilarating would it feel to be up there, part of the air? And then I knew what to draw. Of course, why hadn't I thought of it before? A landscape from a birds-or in this case, dragon's- eye view was just the creative and imaginative touch I needed. I feverishly began drawing, but not before I raised my face to the heavens and shouted "THANK YOU!!"

Owner Name:
.:djFunk:.
Name:
Irezumi (Japanese for Tattoo)
Gender:
Male
Personality:
Sullen
Due to his dark nature, Zumi Is a sullen creature who hides in the shadows. He stays away from most Runes, occasionally coming out of the shadows to investigate for but a second. After that, he vanishes back into the shadows. He is a gloomy figure of darkness. He only does things on his own account, on his own time. He'd rather spend time with Music blaring in his head than to socialize with other runes.
Detatched
He stays to himself, only conversating with his own thoughts. When he sees other runes out and about, he will fly inside and curl up under his covers, Listening to his music. He normally wants others to stay away. He wants his privacy and his space. When he wants to, he will go to others and socialize, But its rare that he ever does.
Protective
His family (Tsalagi, Myself) mean the world to him. If he ever sees any danger looming near, He will fly up to my shoulder and start growling, much like a dog. It almost makes me giggle sometimes. Tsalagi is his favorite rune so far to be around. Well, she has to be. He lives with her. He is very protective over her, seeing as he is a older brother figure to her. He wont let anything get near or harm his family. The ones he loves dearly.

Why do you wish to have him/her:
The colors Black and turquoise are my favorite colors. I actually have those colors in my braces at the moment. I Have been waiting and waiting for a good rune to try for to do a decent, well thought out form for, but I have yet to find one since Tsalagi, My African Wild Dog rune. I decided to try for Irezumi because I knew I could do a really good story and Artwork like I did with Tsalagi.
Where will you keep him/her:
Sig and Char Thread
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
Probably not. He doesnt really like other runes now, so why would he like them in the future.
Any Quirks:
Sits for hours upon Hours listening to his music while snuggled up in his covers since he can't go outside without getting Burnt.
Other:
Image
Irezumi sat nestled in the corner of the workshop like always, With his headphones on, pounding BassNectar into his skull. I could see him out of the corner of my eye, nodding his head ever so slightly to the beat of the music. I sometimes would do this for hours upon hours, watching him Nod his little head away to the beat of the music. I thought it was cute. But at the same time, I felt sorry for him. He didn't have any friends except for Tsalagi, but she didn't count. She was more like a sister to him.
I sat like this for a good half hour, watching him flip through Pandora looking for the perfect Pick-Me-Up song for his never changing, always gloomy mood. All of a sudden, It hit me like a ton of bricks. The perfect story to pass the time. I don't even know when the last time I had a good Idea for a story was, but judging by how I didn't know, it had to have been a while ago. I scribbled my quill furiously on the parchment, not wanting the story to leave my ever so scattered brain. Irezumi looked up to me and smiled. He knew that I had grown out of my never changing state of not knowing what to write and just sitting on my chair like a lump on a log. He flew up to my desk ever so carefully and looked down to my parchment. He nodded in agreement and hopped down onto the ground. He hopped over to his bed and laid back down.
It had been 8:17 pm when I started writing.
When I was satisfied with my writing for the time being, It was already into the wee hours of morning. 2:33 am to be precise. I suddenly felt very sleepy, as if a wave of warmth had washed over me. I swayed in my seat. I had thought it best to go and lay down in my bed and rest until the morning.
That night, I had strange dreams. Of Irezumi. He was outside in the sun, hanging out with a bunch of other runes. I yelled to him, but no air escaped my lungs. I tried running to him, but it felt as if I had lead in the bottoms of my shoes. Suddenly, I watched the scene unfold before me. Irezumi was flying around, chasing the other runes, when He fell out of the sky. I screamed, but again, no air escaped my lungs. He started to get up, but he was stuck to the ground. I realized that he was melting! He looked all around for a way out of his fate, but it was to no avail. He started screeching and screaming. Soon, It was only his head and wings still unpuddled in the inky mess. He struggled and fought. But soon, He was gone.
I woke up with a start. I felt around my bed for the runes. I found Tsalagi. I started to panic. Where was Zumi? I started to get frantic. I felt along the foot of the bed, and I reached a lump. I eased up, Relieved that the dream wasn't reality. I grabbed Irezumi and Tsalagi. I placed them on either side of me, laying down. Irezumi snuggled up to me. I eased into the oblivion of sleep, praying that I never had a dream like that again.

Re: Bitter Ink Rune

Postby Manx » Sat Aug 25, 2012 5:38 am

Owner Name:
Manx

Name:
Kohtalo
It means fate or destiny in Finnish.

Gender:
Male

Personality:
Shy & Reserved:
The first impression most have of Kohtalo is that he is extremely shy. When he first meets people, Kohtalo is very quiet and shy. It takes quite a while for him to warm up to new people, and he come out of hiding very often; until he knows you, that is. The most common place to find him is off on his own in a corner, reading a book.

Inquisitive & Intelligent:
Kohtalo is extremely curious, about, well, everything. He simply loves to learn, and once he warms up to you, will constantly pester you, trying to find out more about you, despite being unable to talk. Despite his problem with leaking ink every where, he thoroughly enjoys reading books, both fiction and non-fiction. He is also very intelligent, and there are very few things he doesn't know and understand.

Loyal & Devoted:
Once you have earned Kohtalo's trust, you'll find he is the must loyal and devoted friend anyone could have. He's always very supportive, and if he can, he'll always try to lend a helping hand where needed. Also, Kohtalo is quite protective, and will defend those he cares for with his life.

Affectionate:
Kohtalo is a very loving, affectionate rune. Despite being quite shy when you first meet him, he actually loves to cuddle and be around others. Not many appreciate him nuzzling up to them though, due to the fact that he's almost constantly dripping ink on whatever he touches. If you are alright with that, he'll be more than happy to sit on your shoulder or rest in your arms.

Creative:
Just as he is intelligent, Kohtalo is also very creative. He's always coming up with new ideas for story plots and inspiration for art, and is always eager to share his ideas with others. It's not unnusual to be woken up in the middle of the night with an enthusiastic rune leaping on top of you, unable to wait until morning to tell or show you a brilliant idea he has come up with.

Hard Working:
Kohtalo is a very hard-working rune. It's not often he leaves a project unfinished, and almost every night he is up late into the night, either stargazing, brainstorming, or completing his current art or story.

Why do you wish to have him/her:
Well, first off, I absolutely love his colours. The light, glowing blue marking provides quite a nice contrast to the black of the rest of the body. His eyes are also quite spectacular. In addition to this, he'd also be my first rune dragon. Most of all, though, is the fact that I love the concept behind his design. Being a writer myself, and often needing inspiration, I find this rune connects to my personality and interests.

Where will you keep him/her:
This guy would certainly find himself a home in my character thread, as well as my signature. In addition to that, I would love to do some writing, and perhaps art, about him.

Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
I may, but I'm very picky about breeding my characters.

Any Quirks:
Kohtalo has a habit of collecting feathers. He simply loves observing the structure of different bird feathers, and so, has collected quite a hoard of them. In addition to this, he enjoys making feather quill pens. Using the ink that often drips from his skin, Kohtalo likes attempting to write and draw with the quills, and has in fact grown good with them.

Kohtalo is also quite a night-owl. He loves nothing more than staying up into the early hours of the morning, staring at the night sky. He's actually developed quite an interest in astronomy, and is quite an expert on constellations. Kohtalo always loves sharing his knowldge of the stars, and will happily teach and point out constellations and planets to any who ask.

Short Story:
"Chance of Fate"
A soft breeze whispered quietly through the trees, and birds filled the forest with their joyful tunes. The day itself was gorgeous, with the sun's rays warming the land and the azure sky free of clouds. All in all, it truly was a perfect day. I smiled softly to myself as I gazed upwards, taking in the sheer magnificence of the forest around me. Giant Redwood trees reached their branches to the sky, and their height was simply dizzying. After strolling through the forest for several minutes, I settled down, leaning against a mossy rock. Not far a way, a gurgling creek played a soothing melody.
Once I had settled myself in, I pulled my writing journal a pencil from my bag. Despite my lack of creativity these last few days, I was going to attempt to write again. This place did provide quite a bit of inspiration, after all. In fact, the reason I had come to the Redwood forest was to try and regain and sharpen my writing skills.
For several moments, I tapped my pencil against the notebook, periodically scribbling down ideas as I thought of them. None of them were particualrily good though, and found myself quickly discarding them. Frustration growing within me, I stood for a few moments to stretch my legs. A sudden drop of, well, something, hit my face as I walked. Startled, I turned my gaze upward. "It can't be rain... There isn't a cloud in te sky..." I thought as I gingerly reached up and touched the wet liquid on my face. To my surprise, it was a drop of pitch black liquid... In fact, it resembled ink quite closely...
Puzzled, I searched the tree branches far above me, but saw nothing significant. Even if there was something, it would be unlikely for me to spot it. The Redwood trees were simply too tall. Brushing the thoughts away, I returned to my spot by the large rock.
By late afternoon, I still hadn't managed to write anything half decent. I snapped my journal closed in frustration, and was thoroughly surprised as a small, black creature darted away in the bushes, only feet away from me. Curiousity replacing my frustration, I slowly rolled to my knees and inspected the bushes. Two brilliant blue eyes peered back at me, and for a moment that's how we stayed, our gazes locked. Little by little, the creature came out of hiding, and I was amazed to see before me a small, dragon like being. Excitement washed through me as I watched it. I had heard of these creatures before, beings known as 'Rune Dragons'. Never before I had I seen one before, let alone been this close to one.
Cokcing its head to the side, it seemed just as curious about me as I was about it. Tentatively, the small dragon came forward, moving in small hops. It suddenly opened its wings

Owner Name:
iSolar
Name:
Cynthia
Gender:
Female
Personality:
Hostile
You need to get to know her if you want her to be fond of you. Don't expect her to love you the second you see her.
Creative
She will sometimes make drawings with her inky feet, I both enjoy then and hate them at the same time. The pictures are cool and I like looking at them, but it makes more of mess to clean up...
Dramatic
She can preform a little "play" for you, often by herself. Sometimes Cynthia calls Ramses over and forces
him join in.
Messy
With her ink covered feet and her artistic personality, she can be quite a mess...
Poetic
Cynthia loves writing poems for Ramses and I. You can look at one of her favorite poems under my story. :3
Mischievous
She pranks Ramses sometimes...
Clever
She is intelligent, and along with a mischievous personality that gives her a mind filled with good pranks.
Loyal
After you adopt her, she won't leave you. So I'm prepared to have a rune with me forever :3

Why do you wish to have him/her:
Well, this rune is beautiful. I love how she is designed, and how ink seems to flow from her feet. I could see her and Ramses being friends, can't you? Ramses is my only rune dragon and I think that he could use another rune dragon to accompany him. Not only that, but writing and drawing are one of my favorite hobbies. And she could help me out when I get writers' block, which happens to me a lot. I even got writers' block while writing the story below o.e I would love to have this rune, she is just too beautiful to describe. There is no way that she can be improved because she is as perfect as perfect can get. Those eyes match the black fur makes her look mysterious yet majestic. And it saddened me to read that their blood was sold in the black market long ago. I would never sell her blood for money! Honestly, I would be honored to own this amazing rune.

~maybe Ramses and her can be mates? o3o

Where will you keep him/her:
In my sig, maybe in my avatar (Animation shown at the top of the post) And in my drawings and stories 8D

And most of all, in my heart!

Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
Yes, of course! I would love to see some cool hatchlings!
Any Quirks:
She seems to enjoy annoying Ramses, my other rune, by using her feet to spatter ink all over him. But he just washes off in the bird bath... which he often ends up tipping over...
Other:
I sat in the cold room, wind softly howling outside. A light patter of rain drummed on the roof of the house. I listened to the beat of the typewriter keys as my fingers tapped against them. Hanging next to the typewriter, there was a lantern glowing a bright orange flame that lit enough of the area so that I could see the bronze keys and the paper that it printed on. I had been writing a story, a quite suspenseful one.

Image

I enjoyed writing these kinds of stories because it gave me suspense as well, and that I could imagine what happened next. If it weren’t for the eerie howls of the wind outside, the chilling patter of rain on the roof, and the mysterious stillness of the frigid room, I would have probably gotten writers’ block by now.

Image

I typed, knowing what in write in each coming sentence. As I finished the second to last paragraph, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I just didn't know what to write... And all I needed was one last paragraph. Writers' block!I thought, annoyed. Sighing, I got up from my leather chair to get a drink of water.I grabbed the lantern and pushed the chair in.My footsteps seemed to fall into beat with the howling wind and the rain drumming itself onto the roof. As I reached for the door, I noticed black rune dragon footprints. A few black flecks surrounded the trail. Great, I thought, annoyed. Ramses got into my ink again... I used the lantern light to see where the tracks led to. The inky footprints ended at a black figure. I knew this wasn't Ramses, because I saw icy blue eyes gleaming from the black figure. A low growl sounded from the creature. This thing obviously was a rune dragon, but many questions lurked my mind. Was it covered in ink? Or was ink naturally... flowing from this rune? Where did it come from? Why was it here? But, I knew I could not ask these questions, as they could not be answered by the rune. I slowly edged towards it,holding my lantern in front of me to see its real color. It hissed a little and moved back as I moved forward. I finally managed to get my lantern over it. Its fur was obviously black although I was unsure if that was its natural color or if it was covered in ink, and the markings under its eyes seemed to make it look like it was crying. It growled more and moved away from the light.

Image

I sighed and put down the lantern. Shaking, I carefully held my hand out to see if I could pet it. It growled as a warning and screeched as I softly stroked its head. To my surprise, its fur was not sticky with ink, but instead dry and short. Snarling, it flapped its wings and ran to the other side of the room, trailed by the inky footprints. It hopped up on my desk and it ran over my typewriters' keys. No! I thought, knowing that a jumble of letters had just been printed onto the page. I shouldn't worry about that now... I reminded myself, and focused on the rune dragon, who was perched on a wooden plank in the bottom right corner of the room.

Image

The rain suddenly fell harder and a white flash filled the room for a split second, followed by the crackle of thunder.

Image

"Come here..." I whispered softly to the rune, trying to comfort it as much as possible. It was silent, just staring at me, icy blue eyes frozen, locked on me. It unfolded its wings and flew into the air, droplets of ink showering down everywhere. It landed on my desk, right next to the typewriter. It unfolded one wing once more. It seemed to be pointing at the typewriter. I narrowed my eyes and slowly walked towards the desk. Once I was there, the rune moved back a little but did not leave the desk. I gasped as I looked at the typewriter. This rune hadn't typed a bunch of random letters, it had typed words! And these were not random words, they made sense and went with the story I was writing. I smiled as I read it. I thought it made a great ending for my story. I gathered up all the pages and put them aside. I slowly held my hand out. The rune flinched as I softly stroked its head. "Well," I murmured as I removed my hand from the rune's head. "I'm assuming you want to go home, to your family now, right?" Its eyes glistened and it seemed to shake its head. "N-no...? Well I would certainly love to adopt you... is that what you really want?" It hopped off the desk and sat next to my foot. "So you wanna stay with us? That's great, I hope you get along with Ramses. Eh, I'm sure you will." I said, smiling. This will make a great story. I thought, gathering the papers up and walking to the door, followed by my new rune, Cynthia.

"How the Dalmatian got its Spots"
There was once a pure white dog. He admired his fur, spotless, without patches, spots, anything. All the other dogs loved his fur, always saying how they wished they had fur as pure as his.One day, the dog decided to go out on a walk through the forest. As he explored the woods, he noticed a rune dragon up in a net. He jumped up, and bit the rope holding the net in the tree until it was broken. The net fell from the tree, and the rune and net hit the ground, casting an echoing screech over the forest. Smiling, the snow-colored dog picked up the net and walked back to his home, where all the dogs lived.

Once he got there,he announced that he would fight this dragon, saying that even this creature could not beat the power of this dog. So the dogs helped build a small stadium,no bigger than your average driveway. They hung a net over the stadium so the rune could not escape. Confused, the rune dragon looked around the stadium. She noticed many dogs take a seat, and finally the pure white dog entered the stadium. When the dog leapt at the rune dragon, she flew up into the air and used her feet to splatter ink all over the dogs' perfect fur! The crowd gasped as the dog was now covered in pure black spots. The dog turned and ran from the stadium, leaving the door open. The rune, silent, flapped away, out of the stadium, and back to her home. Some dogs had said his fur looked better with black spots, and wanted to tell him, but no dog had ever seen the black spotted dog again, some thought he was too ashamed to show his fur there ever again.
