☭ It was as the sun glared down at me as I tended the garden when I felt it. Hands deep in the earth, pulling away the stones to lay down plants, sweat trickling across my heated skin, when suddenly a shocking chill ripped through me. I gasped, wrenching my bare hands from the soil to hug myself. My runes turned from where thay played in the shade, peering at me as if they wondered what I was doing. "Nothing, I swear." They resumed their playful romping, and I glanced around, before resuming my task. The shock rippled through me again within seconds, piercing my heart and I cried out in anguish.

I surged to my feet, moving deeper into the forest that surrounded my cottage, leaving behind my garden and Runes, something completely unlike me. I ran, searching for what I wasn't sure, only knowing that something needed me. I tore through the thick underbrush, my skin and clothing ripping under my senseless searching, but I heeded none of it. I heard my Runes cooing and chirping as they circled, concerned about my bizarre behavior but I only forged onward. The deeper the forest the less light fell and the harder it was to see, and my Runes were becoming more agitated by my frenzied search.

I nearly fell into the cave, I was so lost in my quest, and I stumbled, falling to my knees in the small opening in the ground. It was small, musty and full of plant life. For some reason it surprised me to find all the vegetation in the cave, until I saw it. Nestled deep in the foliage, barely visible was a large green stone. I crawled closer, and gently picked up the pulsing stone, only to find it wasn't a stone! It was a rune egg, glowing with life and vitality, brown leather straps tightly wrapped around it.

I marveled at it, stroking the smooth shell softly, until the same chill as before filled me, and I knew it was the egg. I was confused, nothing seemed amiss, until I heard the soft rumble, and the back of the cave groaned, and rocks came tumbling down. I screamed, tucking myself carefully around the egg as dirt and rocks rained down.I was struck heavily, but not fatally. When at last the cave stopped falling down I peered around through the dust, and knew. Gently I lifted the egg up, making sure it was still safe. "It's okay Dimitri. I've got you. You're safe now." I crooned and a warm, joyful feeling filled me. He knew he was safe. ☭

bena does the original rule for the amount of lines still stand? ( as in, are we still restricted to 6 lines per paragraph?)

Nalik walked thru the forest. Not long ago she had been here. On, it had been earlier in the night. She knew the forest better now. Yet, it was still a mysterious place. Something could be there one day, and gone the next. Not since had she been sucked into the ground. Yet, she prefered to stick to the forest. She hated the feeling of blunt openness that came over her when she was in the grass. Which would appear tall to any human, but looked very short to her. Here, the tree were so tall, they towered over her head. As, she was still young and they were years old. It was cold, yet there was no wind. As, the only sun that dappled the forest floor had set a long time ago. It had to be later than midnight. As, that was the time the white dragon had been allowed to leave her rider's house for the night. She still wished that the rune egg she had found, she had kept. Yet, she knew it had been better to give it to that, that it wanted.

She looked to the sky. Where, the moon shown itself as a glowing deep cream orb. In a deep blue crystal starred sky. "Oh moon, can you tell me your secrets? If I, simply tell you mine. Will you trust me forever, or shun me aside? I've been waiting so long, to find my really true self. Won't you guide me there?",she whispered. Hoping the moon would listen. She plodded on. Flapping her large white wings, she soared up over head of the forest. Landing in a clearing. Huge beasts jumped out at her. Nalik had never seen animals like them. They were thicked furred, yet swift and muscular. With pure black fur and deep green eyes. They blended in perfectly with the forest they lived in. Each one's claws and teeth where lon and sharp. All about the size of a small lion.

They leapt at her feircely, but were no match for her greater size. She clawed and bit, tail swiped and wing swaped them away. Their claws scrapped her scales, but could not peirce them. They snapped at her feet, but couldn't break the skin. For, they didn't know how to fight a dragon. When they were all dead, and she was laying down. Tired from fighting, something began rolling towards her. It reminded her rather of the egg she had seen in the cave. Aside from it's belt. Yet, it seemed to be all it's own. Already awake within it's egg. It rolled towards her. Wobbily yet, not uncertain. She reach a taloned hand out towards it. Felt it's cold serfice, and smiled. "Thank you, moon!",she called. Scooping it up in her hand and flying up. Over the trees once more.

"Treacy! Hurry up!" Ordered a stern, yet soft voice. I turned around from my position near the oak tree, and nodded. The voice was of my guardian father, Lucien. He smiled, as his tan, muscular figure stood under his black umbrella, wearing a dark leather jacket, navy blue jeans, and a grey t-shirt. I then returned to the oak, kneeling down to touch its bark. I closed my eyes for a moment, the soft hum of the owls and the chirps of the crikets echoing in the summer night like music. I felt a warm, smooth bump on the bottom of the tree, and put my fingers around it, opening my eyes. What could it possibly be?
I gasped softly, seeing a green egg under my hand. Lucien walked over, pressing a hand on my shoulder, knelt down beside me, and eyed the egg with a smile. "Treacy, do you know what that is?" He asked softly, as his Rune dragon, Link, rubbed under his hand, chirping. I shook my head, "An egg of some sort...? It has belts on it, but it doesnt look like an egg of a bird..." Lucien nodded, clicking his tongue, as he shook his head, "Not from a bird...But from a Rune dragon," he smiled, seeing me gasp in amazement.
I hugged him quickly, picking the egg up, opening my shoulder bag, and placing it in there softly, looking down in awe. "You mean...It is.. ? Seriously?" I asked, glancing from Lucien's face and to the egg, favoring the leather belts that held it in place. I blushed, seeing Lucien's grin at my questions, so I just looked down at Link, with his cute little hat and the fairy Navi. "Well," Lucien said, standing up, "We have to go. Our little friend needs a soft bed to hatch in," he grinned, and picked me up, carrying me as I chuckled. "Hey! Stop!" I grinned, hanging onto him so I wouldn't fall. We walked down the hill and to the apartment, with Link beside us. We strolled down the hill, with the clear night sky comforting us.

Bena, can I add extras to my form? I'll put them at the bottom and you don't have to read or count them, but I just feel like doing more with this rune <3

It will not be counted towards the form itself but I will not stifle any creativity you wish to show.
Leaving it towards the bottom is fine with me.

"Thank you, Benathorn, for the tea, I love it! I came to you as soon as I realized it was a rune dragon egg.You are the expert on rune dragons. Now as for how I found the egg... You see, I was out buying some clothes, for my old ones were rather raggedy and torn. I searched through all the shops in the town nearby-you know, the one near the forest and the ocean? It was almost imposible finding anything that were not brightly colored skirts that were tight and would barely let me breathe! I have no idea why you would wear that, and just for beauty too! That is why I refuse to wear any of that frippery, unless it was a fancy party, then it would be bad if i didn't wear it.

Now back to the topic at hand , I went to the tailor, nice man he is, asking him to make more of those skirts and pants that i absolutely adore. See, they're easy to breathe in,and i wont stand out mush. I hate to stand out. Staying in the tailor's shop, i looked over the hundreds of accessories he has, some useful, some not.Pearls, Belts, faux fur,Buttons, and lots and lots of beads. I picked through them one by one, admiring all the different colors, shape, and izes. Looking through the belts, i saw a huge ttangle of belts, and i tried to untie each one, it really bothered me. I stared at each one in awe at how intricate each belt was, each one more so than the last. At last I could see it. It was an odd green item, that was oddly wrapped in the belts I grasped it, careful nott to break it.

When I showed it to the owner of the shop, he was as surprised as I was when he saw the egg. He had no idea at how the egg wound up here. And he left me to ponder how it got there. When It was an hour or so after finding the egg, I paid him for the clothes, and let him, wishing him a good day. He let me keep the egg of course, he said he had no use for it, and plus, I found it! As soon as i went home, I thought about the egg a little bit more, then i slept. When i woke up, I suddenly realized what it is, having no idea where i could've gotten that from, for my sleep was a dreamless one. So I rushed off to find where you lived, because you can answer my questions best about the little guy.

And now, I think i'll name him. Metal and earth, you say? Why not Hephaestus, the god of metal working. It fits him, don't you think? A strong name for a strong rune. And Hephaestus is a god of metalwork, and that underlines the metal element. Hephaestus is a male's name too, and that would define his gender! Yeah, That's his name, Hephaestus. Now then, what type of tea is this, exactly?"

This four paragraph thing is hard! XP Benathorn, I have question. What if our story contains dialogue? I mean, grammatically whenever someone starts speaking it should be a new paragraph. But if two different people say something, that's technically two paragraphs right there. Is there an exception for dialogue, or should I go against my grammar instincts and make the dialogue between two people happen in the same paragraph? I was going to have some dialogue in my story, but I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't, because of the paragraph issue.
