Name:
Aelita
Gender:
Female
Personality:
Aelita is a curious individual who really hasn't had much experience with other beings, sentient or otherwise. She's generally found wandering around the treelines or down by shores, taking in what she can and learning as she goes. Her experiments often fail in some humorous way, but it's just her process. See, think, experiment, and quite usually run. She is the science-type and loves setting up and performing various experiments combining different natural chemicals alongside many plants and herbs to get different results, but those are a whole other story altogether.
Story:
It was one late november day that Aelita had been gathering her food cache for the winter. Though she didn't hibernate like many of the woodland creatures around her, she preferred to stay inside during the colder months. She didn't like venturing out into that cold unless she absolutely had to. She had been gathering herbs and spices for over a month now and was about to do the very same thing tonight when she came across it. It wasn't much, only an inch or two tall and had a bit of a rounded top. The stalk was rather thin, lanky to be frank. She stepped closer, wondering what this strange thing was when all of a sudden the most curious thing happened...it began to glow. The second moonlight hit the top of this strange mushroom, it started to glow an extremely faint shade of blue. It truly was intriguing, this little fungus. She picked it and stuck it in her basket with a rather large grin, taking it back to her den for further examination and possibly experimentation. Hopefully this one didn't mutate. She made her way back to her small alcove hidden within the denser part of the forest, not many of those two-legged walkers got through this far so it made a rather safe haven for her. She placed her basket down on the ground and padded inside, it wasn't the warmest place in the world but it kept the wet out and that's what mattered.
Shortly after letting herself unwind for a bit, Aelita decided that it was time for her to get her things unpacked and into her cache. She moved to retrieve her small basket, putting everything away in the small dug out holes that she liked to call shelves, it kept her things organized...more or less. Well, no..it didn't, the "shelves" just kept her things off the floor. There were items and other oddities crammed into holes that didn't even match their shapes or sizes, she was a bit too lazy to organize with that much effort. Just as long as it was off the ground. She nodded with pride at her work, pretending that she didn't see that small turnip fall out of it's hole. Nope. That turnip doesn't even exist anymore. She winced a bit before rushing over to pick it up and find a new hole to stuff it into. She was a bit of a hoarder and loved to grab anything interesting, like that mushroom from earlier. Though, she didn't know what she was going to do with it other than use it for some form of lighting indoor, that would work. She gingerly rolled the mushroom from it's spot on her floor to a rather small hole she dug and tried to angle it into place. After a great deal of struggle that left her a great deal more frustrated than anything, Aelita had finally managed to get the silly little fungus into place. She sat back and smiled with pride as she nudged it which agitated it's strange mechanics once more causing it to glow, illuminating her small alcove in a soothing blue light. Experimentation could wait, right now...she just liked being able to see in her own den finally. She dragged herself to a small padded corner at the further end of the alcove where it was a few degrees warmer than the rest and curled up slowly. She rested her head on her two front paws and smiled at the glowing mushroom once more, letting her tired eyes finally close and send her into a peaceful slumber 'til the following morning.
