WtD Name: Helmholtz Watson
Personality: His duties to his home and family as a sort of mail-dragon notwithstanding, Helm has always thought he could do something greater with his talent for stealth and love of art. He was rather happy with his living conditions until he realized this, and has begun to look for different routes on his deliveries, hoping to find a way to broaden his horizons in secret, always afraid of being scorned for his yearnings by other dragons and even his family, though they love him entirely.
Why you want him: He's gorgeous, and I love how the tip of his tail pops out from the uniformity of the rest of him. It sort of reminds me of how he is unique from his own family to a degree. The species as well is amazing, and I would be incredibly proud to own him. As well, I hope to have him as an early birthday present to myself, as my birthday is July 2nd. To me; sincerely, yourself, har har.
Other?: A few quotes from the book he was inspired by:
"Why was that old fellow [Shakespeare] such a marvellous propaganda technician? Because he had so many insane, excriciating things to get excited about. You've got to be hurt and upset; otherwise you can't think of the really good, penetrating X-rayish phrases... No, it won't do. We need some other kind of madness and violence. But what? What? Where can one find it?... I don't know." Helmholtz Watson, Chapter 12, pg. 185
"And yet," said Helmholtz when, having recovered breath enough to apologize, he had mollified the Savage into listening to his explanations, "I know quite well that one needs ridiculous, mad situations like that; one really can't write really well about anything else."
Helmholtz Watson, Chapter 12, pg. 185
"I feel," he [Helmholtz] said, after a silence, "as though I were just beginning to have something to write about. As though I were beginning to be able to use that power I've got inside me- that extra, latent power. Something seems to be coming to me."
Helmholtz Watson, Chapter 12, pg. 182
