I'm guessing some kind of gazelle or antelope :3
▪ Username: Rivkah2012
▪ Whelkon Name: The Spark of Light (Spark)
▪ Short Story (400 words max or disqualified): Spark glanced around, breathing heavily from his long run on swift feet. The forest always provided a challenge, and he loved it. He loved running in all sorts of terrains, but this had the best obstacles. Dipping his head, he found a nearby stream and hurriedly began to lap at it. He hadn't looked around to see if there were leftovers from any other animal hunts, but he had no appetite at the moment. He never did after a run. What he needed was a good, long drink and a nap.

Snorting, he continued to drink the water hurriedly, panting slightly from the heat. Then, he plunged his head underwater, the refreshing cold helping him cool down. Then, shaking his fur out as he surfaced, he walked over and lay beneath the towering branches of a nearby oak tree. Resting his head on the soft grass, he closed his eyes for a moment. Today had been very exciting. He had met another Whelkon, which was sometimes rare, even for his own kind, and seen a couple humans on a picnic.

Blinking his wise, tired eyes, Spark lifted his head, ears swiveling. He heard the chittering of other forest animals, and the squawking of birds overhead. Smiling to himself, he waited another moment in the shade, breathing in deeply as a breeze came. Then, he stood, walking off, looking for another way to amuse himself, and to scout for any endangerment to the forest and its inhabitants. It wasn't always an easy job, but to him, it was all worth it.
(80 words. That adds up to 159 words. Way in the limit. I might add more later, but this is fine for now.

▪ Why you want this Whelkon (Few sentences): Well, this guy is so wonderfully colored, and he's obviously been made with a lot of care. I really enjoy art, I'm an artist, and I use Oekaki - especially beautifully made animals such as this - for my own art or writing. Whether it be the shade of color, or the pose that inspires me, or even just imagining something - I love things like this. It's a very talented and imaginative idea, and I have to say I really admire it. If you let me have it, I'd be grateful. But I'd be happy if someone else who would use it properly could take it, too.
