Roleplay sample:
The sunlight glittered on the thick layer of frost covering the ground. Tiny flakes of snow drifted from the sky, slowly blanketing the landscape in white. Foxes with mottled fur of half brown and half white dashed around urgently, stashing supplies for the long, cold winter. Flocks of birds flew overhead in V formations, heading South (?) to lands were winter's icy kiss does not reach. This was my favorite time of the year. The time of the Vinca.
I didn't have to be awake to know these things were happening, which is good. Especially since I had just woken up. I blinked open my vibrant purple eyes and yawned. After a quick stretch I grinned, dashing from my dark den and launching myself into the bright snow. I rolled around, feeling it refresh me after so many months of summer. I grinned, leaping back out and shaking the fine white dust from the multicolored strands. Now my coat shone in the morning light, glowing ever so softly. Life was good.
I was hungry. I knew that from the first moment I woke up. But a snow bath was a necessity; food could wait. Reluctantly I left the snow-drift, scared it would be gone when I returned. Little did I know I wouldn't ever return. I pranced happily through the frozen landscape, waving my furry tail like a flag. I lifted my slender muzzle to the air and inhaled deeply. I caught the scent of a sandpiper. Perking my ears I heard the lonely peeping. Breakfast.
The bird never knew what was coming. I slunk through the snow, keeping as low as a snake and slow as the summer. I peered over the huge mound, eyeing the fat sandpiper. I gathered all my strength in my back legs and leaped, landing with accuracy and dispatching it swiftly. I grinned as as the bird grew limp in my jaws. I turned to go back home when I saw it.
A tall, thin creature covered in cloth, it's loose head-fur spilling over its shoulders. I froze, not daring to make a single movement. Then I remembered what this creature was called. A human. I had heard a little about these. It crouched down and held out a covered hand. I decided to go with my instincts. I dropped my prey and took a careful step towards her. I gingerly sniffed her warm hands. She smelt safe and full of warmth. I let her rest her hand on my head, ruffling my fur. I grinned and rolled onto my back, begging her to scratch my belly. This was the start of a beautiful relationship. The one between me and my owner.
