i would love to adopt and love...
DEWEYDewey; his full name being Mountain Dew, was named after the excitable, fizzy goodness that everyone loves and adores. Which, is very much like Dewey himself.
This JBD is an adventurous, bubbly, and sometimes a bit braggy guy. He loves making art and dancing, and hates gardening and yard tools.Profile wrote:Full Name:

Soda- a good soda pop is all Dewey needs to relax. his favorite is not mountain dew, as some may think, but the scumpcious Dr. Pepper..YUM! Dewey, though hates to mention it, is obsessed with soda. he drinks it any time he can. his favorite thing is when the fizz tickles his nose
Festivals- the upbeat music, costums, floats, actvities, and not to mention food send Dewey into a frenzy. he loves all the people he can talk to and enters every game he can! Dewey can't resist a steaming corn dog or take a swing at a "Dunk the Doof".
Nature- quite opposite from festivals, though Dewey finds most happiness in nature. the forever fields, the shadey forests, and crystal lakes content him into utter joy. Basking under a willow tree, trying to catch fish in lakes and ponds, and balancing on fallen logs over trickling streams. Dewey also enjoys chasing after any bug he can find, weaving in and out of trees and fallen logs.
Cooking- Dewey just loooves the kitchen. he loves working with food, using his paws, mixing up yummy concoctions and lick lick licking! this little JBD has a knack for developing new mouth watering JBD treats. no more cook books! this jelly bean dragon works from smells and tongues (especially tongues) mmmhmmm! he especially enjoys making smoothies and different cupcakes and fudge.
Dancing...well..um- more like flailing in an adorable JBD way! Dewey loves to twirl and prance, fling around his tail and stomp his feet. though it makes quite a ruckus, Dewey cant resist these breaking out some "moves" whenever a catchy tunes flows his way!
Arts n' Crafts- a little bit of glue here, oh! a squin, some feathers, cut that! ah yes, arts and crafts. Dewey loves to just pull out some scissors and glue and get creating! comic books and paper mache are some of his absolute faves to create. though, yes, they do take a while to clean up... 83Dislikes wrote:Dislikes:
Nighttime- Dewey hates the dark, nighttime, whitching hour, whatever you want to call it. the noises freak him out, the "unable to see what's in front of you" scares him to death, and the shadows make him jump out of his skin. a nightlight or three is prefered for Dewey when it's time for bed.
Gardening- Dewey finds gardening the most boring thing on the planet. dig, plant, dig, plant, dig, plant is what gardening is in his mind. also, he refuses to mention the joy of picking the first cucumber into his decision.. ^^"
Bubby Water- Dewey totally thinks that bubby water, fizzy water whatever you want to call it is trying to inerpsonate or 'steal' soda. Why would anyone even want to make such a bland copycat? soda is perfect the way it is. fizzy, sweet, tasteful and exciting. unlike bubby water which is water with bubbles. big whooop. or should he say big whoops?
Yard Tools- scary, loud, ugly, and bland is the four main descriptors of Yard Tools to Dewey. tools such as weed whackers, leaf blowers, and lawn mowers. they destroy grass and plants and are plain and boring. also too loud if you ask Dew. They also remind him of the torturous tools used in his past.
Talking about his Past- Dewey had extremely harsh past chock full of lies, neglect, and torture. if someone starts to bring it up Dewey quickly turns to another subject with an aching feeling in his stomach. Dewey has avoided talking about his memories since he was brought out of the reality of them and still is iffy about repeating them.Personality wrote:Personality:
Dewey is a fun lovin' typical JBD. Everyone loves his playful antics, but deep inside Dewey has some darks secrets. He can be braggy and clingy to his toys. Though, overall Dew is a cuddly, adventurous JellyBean Dragon.Pros wrote:Pros- Dewey has many pros about him. He's a sweet playful guy with lots of energy to spare. He loves to go on adventures alone and independently. Everything facinates Dewey from a droplet on a flower to a sudden force wind. Obviously then, he's very curious, asking many questions and analyzing every answer, only to ask more adorable questions. He's also a very helpful little guy and though hates sweeping and vaccuming, loves washing the dishes (the bubbles and water, etc). Dewey is also quite social, with many friends. He's very chatty, and is always trying to start a conversation.
Chatty
Dewey is always ready to start a conversation, whether it's with a well known friend or a total stranger. he enjoys talking about him a lot of the time, though most people try to indulge him into different subjects. he also likes to ask many questions, and well, answer many as well. he's chock full of information that is just waiting to spill out of his head.
Social
Dewey is very very very much like a social butterfly. he had many friends, and those just met are bound to love him. whoever he meets is usually going to ask to play another time, such and such. Dewey loves all the attention, though mostly keeps a balanced head about it. his best friend is Avalon who is owned by one of Stripey's best buds; Boots.
Sweet
Never turning down a request, Dewey is one of the sweetest JBDs you'll know. he's almost (XD) always there to lend a helping paw. you're most likely to find him smiling broadly, whistling, or playing innocently around the house. Dewey loves to care for people and other creatures with a gracious sweep. he loves to give and recieve compliments, which he responds to politely and kindly. only about 2 or 3 times has Dewey really gotten worked up negatively, and it ended in excessive apologies.
Playful
Dewey is all over the place, wanting to play. he enjoys any type of playing from imaginary to board games. he especially enjoys pretending to be a fish or anyother forest creature. copying their actions and trying to sound most like them. Dewey also enjoys playing house, or pretending he's on a cooking show, then he gets to cook, which is one of his favorite hobbies. careful though, when you ask Dewey to play, you're booked for the whole day, and will probably be asked to come back tomorrow to finish the game. his favorite board games include Guess Who and Monopoly.
Cuddly
{THIS IS NOT IN A CREEPY WAY c: }when the day is over and the fireflies have gone to bed, Dewey enjoys curling up by you and listening to a story book. Dewey is very very cuddly. he, like many other JBDs love to be warm and snug, so he has many stuffed animals and pillows on his bed that he can cuddle with on especially cold nights. though, human companions and other JBDs are his favorite. he loves to feel their heart beat. warm in front of the fire and cozy snuggly warm in a blanket.
Adventurous
Boom! Dewey is always, no matter what, ready and eager for a new adventure. whether it's cleaning the dishes or a forest treck, this JBD loves is all. there's no limits for Dewey when it comes to this playful pastime. he'll dress up, grab some snacks and supplies, and head out. he also never fails to take on a challenge. it's all an adventure to him, life, it's challenges, it's ups and downs, and most of all it's little moments that add up to love.
Independent
When he feels like it, Dewey demands independence. no help, no help at all. he'll get annoyed or frusturated it someone tries to help. most of the time it's a good thing Dewey's independent. he usually figures out his own problems without needing to tattle or tell on someone or something. he also gets things quick, not needing someone else to help him understand. thats all covered. he likes to figure these things out, and feels better about understanding them if he does it by himself than with help.
Curious
Whats that? Why does that do that? Is that the noise of a..? Dewey is full of questions, and answers. he wants to know about every little thing, why it does this, and why is doesnt do that. he likes to touch, smell, see, and hear very closely to his surroundings. he loves science, doing all the expiriments and looking through magnifying glasses. he just loves making those connections of "OH! So thats why flowers smell!" his greatest question is what else lies beyond Earth. drawing mysterious ideas of what the aliens would look like, and what lies byeond! Dewey is deffinately one of the most curious guys you'll ever meet!
Helpful
Always asking if anyone needs help with anything, describing Dewey as helpful is spot on. he enjoys splutting around the house, moving a vase here, adjusting a lopsided painting there. he's a bit of a perfectionist, so nothing thats in it's wrong place gets by this JBD...Dewey's always there to fix it up.Cons wrote:Cons- Though Dewey's hard past has bruised him badly, he's slowly been resurfacing into the light. Still though, no JBD is perfect. Dewey's past has inflicted him hard with standing up for himself. Though he's a chatter box when happy, when faced with a bully he has nothing to say. He usually just lets himself be whipped down with the bullie's words until they're done and walks away. Dewey also can be a bit braggy with friends, maybe about the new toy he got or how he washed the dishes so well that he got a treat..or, well, yes. He also can be a bit un-sharey (yay! a knew word!) Dewey hates to share. Unless forced to, he'd rather keep to himself with his stuff.
Shy with Bullies
Because of his past, Dewey has an extremely hard time standing up for bullies. he's just got this voice in the back of his head that they're going to physically abuse him if he tries to fight back. though he knows they probably wont, at least as bad as his previous owners, he still is worrisome and cowardly around bullies. he just tries to clear his mind and focus on his life now, than what it used to be. he has since learned to block out the bullies harsh words, but of course, they come back to you, like everything else bad, does when you're trying to fall asleep. thats another reason why Dewey hate hate hates the dark and always has a nightlight or two or three...
Braggart
This is one of Dewey's major...flaws. whenever he gets a new toy or is praised he just loooooves to show it off or explain the extremely dangerous task that he so easily accomplished. mostly this happens when he gets caught up with his own head. his mind spills over the brim and is on "no stop". this is when Dewey will go full out brag. "I got this toy and youuuu didntttt!!!!!!" "My mummy said I did great on the cleanup! Did she say that to you? NO!" this is toward the point of being a bully, and Dewey oh so hard tries to avoid this stage in the game. he talks to his friends before hand saying if he gets there, put him back down.
Hates to Share
"Hey Dew, can I have a sip-" "NO." Thaaats another one. Dewey hates sharing. if it's his stuff, it's his. no matter what. Food sharing is 1. gross, 2. unsafe, and 3. no fun. this JBD hates sharing food. his mum packed it for him, so, does he have to share it? no. Dewey also dislikes sharing toys, which can be a big disastor sometimes. friends come over and they're having a great time until one of them reaches into the toy box and pulls out a matchbox care...oooo dear. another thing is, even if Dewey never plays with the toy or hates celery, he still wont share it. it's like an ownership issue.
Selfish
This goes off of "hates to share". Dewey has a little problem with being a little selfish. he likes to keep what's his, not give it up, not to share. he agrees to the opinion that 'whats his is his.' this can get him in trouble with friends, and in trouble with adults. this descriptor doesnt always apply for physically selfish, but mentally too. Dewey hates it when people copy him, he finds that they're stealing his words..meant for himself.
Cowardly
Because of Dewey's past (ah, this is turning up a lot isnt it? XD) he's very cowardly, scared or frightened at cost, to stand up for himself or to try new things. everything dangerous or risky scares Dewey into thinking that there will always be a punishment at the end. he refuses things such as jumping into the ocean from a rock, bungee jumping, or even inturrupting someone.
Sour Loser
Dewey despices loosing. he'll trash talk the other person/team once the game is over or cries for hours. when losing he always tries to find a bad spot in the other team and extend on it. over exaggerate is another grrreat word for this. these rantings about the other team/person can go on for hours, if not days. he almost always wants a rematch. though, when it's about to happen he gets very nervous. overall he hates losing.Story:

----Story #1-Back out of Reality
"Bizzzzzzzzbzzzzzzbzzzzz" The tiny dragon swatted the air blindly. "Bzzzzzzzbzzzzzzzbzbbzzzzzzzz" There it went again. This time the dragon sat up, sniffed the air, and growled good hearitly. He shook his head and attempted to open his left eye. No luck. He wearily brought up his paw and prodded the buldge that was once his eye socket. Shivering in the now established pain he lay down again. "1. 2. 3. 4. 1.-" A stomping of harsh boots interuppted his trail of thought. Bracing himself for the worst he sat up, straight, one eye forced closed, and one eye swollen closed.
"Ruthless *******!!!!!" Came a yell. The dragon felt a hard kick on his hind quartors. "GET UP! STAND!!!!!" The dragon wearily forced himself into a 'begging' position. "HE SAID STAND!!!!!" Shreiked a female voice. A whip clashed. The dragon pulled himself into a stand. "Nooowww..." Bellowed the deeper voice, a club bouncing at his side. "Carrna? What is on the agenda today?" The dragon peeked out of his right eye. She was curvy with wildly curly crazy hair that went down to her lower back. Twigs and leaved stuck out in akward places and she wore a black leather dress with many buckles and buttons. Black army boots were tied up tightly around her ankles. The man was short and slender with bleach blong hair that went to his shoulders. His face was scarred and he had a square jaw. He was dressed in black jeans and tan army boots. His chest bore a once white muscule tee and a leather jacket.
The dragon looked up at the abusers. They had found him as a baby, wandering aimlessly, lost. They earned his trust then threw it away by abusing him and neglecting his basic needs.
All of a sudden a white truck zoomed into view, knocking the man and women out of the way. A group of people rushed to the dragon's side, feeling his cuts and wounds. The dragon felt a throb of pain and then everything went black.
--1.2.THREE WEEKS LATER--
"Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzbzzzzzzzzzzzzbzzzzzzzz" The dragon swatted the air blindly. "Bzzzzzzzzzbzzzzzzzbzzzbzz" There is was again. This time the dragon sat up, sniffed the air- wait. wait just a minute. The dragon opened his eyes automatically. Both. Both opened this time. Everything though, was too blurry to make out anything. Amazed still he lifted a paw to his left socket. No buldge. Was he dreaming? No.. this smelled to real. Ah, but that smell! So steril and..metallic? He winced, oh no not the metal fire poker again!!! But, no, this metallic smell was all around. Also, other animal smells, that smelled much like him. The dragon paused. He padded the ground. Hard and cold, unlike the forest floor were he was neglected to stay. He crawled around. He was in some sort of enclosed enviroment. Walls on every side. Except, ah... crisscrossed thin metal bars greeted him. That was where the dim light was coming from, that 'open' side. He rubbed his eyes, now a bit more focused. He could make out white tables and strange machines. Now his ears kicked in. Strange animals sounds greeted him. He replied meekly, though, inside he was glad to have some animal company. Suddenly, a rectangle piece of plastic swung open and in walked a female human in a long white coat. She had long brown hair tied up in a ponytail. Her face was kind and thin, a smile on her lips. "Hello guys!" She said kindly. Dozens of happy sounds replied. Though the small dragon only backed into the corner...
After hours of watching the tall women take out animals, do...who knows what to them on the white table, and put them back in there (the dragon now learned) 'cages' the dragon grew curious of his surroundings and slowly inched out of the corner. Soon, he knew, he would be taken out. The funny thing was though, the women wasnt...well...it seemed like she did the opposite of hurt the creatures. The dragon now sat at the front of his cage, eyes darting around. Finally the women walked over to the dragon's cage. She unlocked it and the front flew open. The dragon coward and rushed to the back. The women waited, smiling still. She spoke soothing words to him, and he finally broke free of the coward inside him and let himself be brought to the table. She prodded him for a bit, smiling and apologizing if it hurt, though, the dragon knew what hurt was. This was not hurt.
Minutes, how many the dragon did not know, passed. He was finally brought to a hollow basin and scrubbed with warm water and a bubbly substance that the dragon immidietly fell in love with. Then his legs were wrapped up in cloth strips and his cuts and bruises covered with odd floppy oval shaped sticky things. He was then given a delicious meal of really really yummy stufff. "Here" said the women and she gently put down a bowl of water. The dragon dipped his tongue in. "Ppplehhhhf!" A shivery sensation ran up his tongue. "Carbonated water, sorry boy! Thats all we had, and it'll probably help your wounds. Lots of minerals. She winked, the dragon scowled at the bowl opposite him. He was then carefully put back into his cage (now with blankets!) and told to rest. Tomorrow would be a big day.
The next morning he awoke being jostled out into the bright sunlight. People were everywhere, ooing and awing and pointing at various cages lined up. The dragon and his cage was placed out into a particularly empty spot. A large man wearing a red and white striped suit was calling "JellyBean Dragons for Sale!!!! JellyBean Dragons!!!" Over and over. The dragon paced back and forth in his cage wildly, poking his nose in the direction of the yummy smells and itching to prance over to a game. After an hour or two of wishing, he settled comfortably down in a corner. Various people walked by his cage, but only a few stopped to give him a scratch behind the ears or to tickle his horns. Then, came a thin girl with wavy long brown hair and lots of freckles. The moment she saw him her eyes lit up. "Hi!" She whispered. The dragon looked up. "Hi Dewey."Story #2- We're on our Way Home
The girl calmly put her hand up to the cage bars, so that the dragon could sniff her hand. Once approved, the girl stuck her finger into the cage and murmured soft words to the dragon. He brushed up against the bars of a cage like a shelter cat does and the girl pet him and kissed him through the cage. For once the dragon felt something he never had. It was an odd feeling, very warm and bubbly. The girl's next words said it all. "I love you Dewey boy."
The next thing the dragon knew he was being lifted out of his metal cage and plopped down onto a checked red and white cloth. "So, this is the one you want, ey?" Came a low voice. "Yup! He seems just absolutely wonderful!!" "Ah, well, to each his own I suppose." The girl stopped smiling. "What do you mean? Does he have bad behavior or something?" "Ooo, havent you heard? Ya'know, you should really read the information profile cards for each Jellybean Dragon." "I did!" She said defensively. "It said nothing about this mysterious flaw!" The man huffed. "He had a pretty harsh past. Dont worry hun, you'll read all about it in his adoption papers." The girl thanked the man briefly before scooting the dragon back into a new carrier and stalking off to the adoption table.
"I'd like to adopt this cutie! Though, the man over there said something about...I dont know, a problem with this JBD?" She asked hesitantly. The adoption ladies looked at eachother nervously. "Well, um, Marge, would you like to explain?" A large lady with curly short hair stepped closer. "Sweetie, this JBD was abused..neglected before we found and rescued him. He hasnt been through therapy, so, well, we dont know his behavior status one bit. Use caution." The lady tried smiling, but it came out as a weird lopsided pucker. The girl sniffed twice, then peered down into Dewey's soft eyes. "Dont worry. I'll help you." And she signed the papers.
--1.2.THREE WEEKS LATER--
"Chiiirrrrppppiiii! Chirrrrrrrrrrrpiiiiii! Chirrrrrrrrrrrrripppppppppiiii!!!" Dewey sat up, yawned, and put up his backside in a long stretch. "Dewey! You're awake?" Came a yell from the kitchen. The dragon jumped to his feet and patted goodbye to his stuffed animals before bounding into the kitchen joyfully. "Dewey! Goodmorning sweetie!" Said the girl. "Morning!" Dewey thought. Dewey crept over to the counter top, peering quizzically at his mum. She laughed goodheartidly. "Dont worry Dew, I saved breakfast for you to make!" Jumping up and down with excitement Dewey rushed over to the fridge, almost knocking over a chair as he went. "Dewey carefulll!" Called the girl, smiling.
Dewey's eyes eagerly scanned the fridge. Eggs, bread, butter, check. After grabbing the cold ingredients he sped over to the spice cabinet and harshly grabbed the cinnimon. Then, with his arms full, he carefully trudged back into the work area. He deposited his belongings and hastily rounded up the rest of his equitment for making his favorite...french toast! "My goodness Dewey. You are just a cookin' machine!" Dewey smiled at the joke, and let out a squeal of laughter. "Silly pants! Alright, I'll be gardening if you need me." Dewey scowled at the thought. "Gardening. Ewch." The girl shot a look at the dragon's face and skipped outside.
After breakfast and a flashy goodbye to the girl, Dewey had decided to spend the gorgeous day running through the forest. Since it was only a run from the back screen door, Dewey visited the forest most often down that he lived at Honeysuckle Ranch. Ah, speaking of Honeysuckle Ranch, I might as well explain a bit of what it looks like. The kitchen looked much like this, but it was much more open with small windows all around and very cozy. The bathroom being Tuscan designed was worn, though was happy. It looked a bit like this, complete with a clawfoot tub to the south. Dewey's room looked like this, except, without the shoes and he curled up on the bed. The guest room was designed like this, and the girl's room was much different, looking along the lines of this. The overview of the house looked exactly like this. Of course, change the kitchen. Outside the forest field looked similar to this, the path to the forest from Dewey's house looked like this, and the forest itself looked like this complete with a stream, lake, and field.Extra Information:Why do I want this JBD- oh goodess, where to start? from the beginning I suppose. well, about a couple months ago I started getting into characters, you know, getting them art, writing a profile, etc. I was browsing "Adoptable Pets" and came across the Jelly Bean Dragon homepage. I immediately fell in love with the species, promising to stalk in my head, but forgot about it for a while. then, about a month ago I was just browsing my posts when I came across it yet again. I excitedly browsed through the adoptables only to find my favorited had already been adopted. I once again promised to stalk. hehe...yah...you know what came next. I got busy and well, forgot up until a couple weeks ago. my friend Boots had found JBDs and was adopting many. she already had three and I was still trying to find my perfect fit. she would PM me links to ones I might like, even try out for, but none really caught my eye (sorry boots, if you're reading this! D: <333). I have been browsing ever since. I saw your first one, Ivara, the natural colored one, and liked it a lot. something I hadent felt for a JBD in a while. I then pledged to keep an eye out for more of your designs <3 then one day I was talking to Boots on the phone and she mentioned a bunch of new JBDs for adoption. "Hey, did you see that new one by Ivara? It may just be my third JBD! It's so cool!" I hurried on the computer and checked it out. thats when it happened! I instantly fell in love with {dewey} and begged Boots to not try out. she gladly accepted, for she had been trying to get me to try out for a JBD forever! though this one, was my decision. I wanted to win him more than anything that moment. his design just, ahg! {i apologize, it's hard to explain without getting super cheesey} the bubbles are just so happy! it reminds me that life it very much like a bubble. there will be hard spots, but they'll always disapear at some point, and then new challenges will be reborn, but there will always be a sturdy goodness underneath it all. His design is so happy and bright, the perfect ideal JBD.
well, for me at least <333
