I have no idea how to put this politely but irl I am drowning. x'D I would like for someone to take me to an axe-throwing event and pin me to the wall and use me for target practice. I think that could maybe fix me.
I wish I could be around here more on CS because I had so many cool activities I wanted to do this year on oekaki, many of them community-oriented that I really felt would have been a lot of fun. but I am so sorry to say that I don't know if most of those things will end up happening after all, at least not for now. I apologize for my absence but I hope everyone is doing well, or at least, as least-bad as they possibly can be. ^^
All that aside, I still want to make absolutely sure I do these two things specifically:
1) make another editable for CS's summer event later this year
2) host a contest to give out prizes for other people who might be interested in making an editable for the community.
barring life or limb emergencies I am very committed to seeing these two things through. c: but I have a few questions, one pertaining to the second point above, and then two unrelated questions that I hope you'll still lend me your perspective on.
first question - PRIZES. I wanted to ask anyone who would be interested in entering an editable contest: would you rather there be multiple prizes to give out to as many people as possible, or one big Grand Prize to go to a single winner?
my first instinct has always been to give out as many prizes as possible, since that means fewer people go away empty-handed, but I also don't know much about hosting contests on CS as I've rarely done it. I do have some "higher end" pets that would go to the top spot or two amongst winners, but I was also planning on giving out some stuff like recent store pets or little bundles of c$ to make sure as many players got something for their efforts as possible. but I also have no idea if the excitement of going after a single "big prize" would be what would draw most folks in. let me know what you think if you have thoughts?
second question - summer event editables. the whole reason I started making these summer event editables the past couple years is because I thought it would be so nice to have an activity onsite tied to the big yearly event that people could go back and "play" later if they wanted to. I feel like it's a lovely way to get to re-experience parts of the game that otherwise would be sort of lost to time and archives.
to that end, I wanted to ask if anyone would be interested if I made some editables based on past summer events? I feel like that would be a really nice low-pressure thing I could work on that wouldn't be time-sensitive if I did get more free time later this year and wanted to make some more fun things on oekaki. and I'd love hearing which events people might most enjoy to have a keepsake editable for. the reason I hesitate though / wanted to ask this question is because I could see it not being exciting enough when so far removed from the event to be an activity people would actually enjoy doing something with. main reason a lot of people play the events at all is the social aspects of having a big active site, so just jumping in solo to play an oekaki game with Past Event Vibes might not feel like a fun way to spend your time, which I totally understand if that's the case. would love to know your own thoughts though if you have any.
and finally, question three - this bracelet maker. would you like an expansion? c: I've already posted a pro-create version of it that you can download for free on gumroad with a bunch of extra bead options, and I've thought about bringing those beads here and making a bracelet maker 2.0 on oekaki. honestly just because this is my most-used editable, and it would also be the lowest requirement of effort for me to expand and make even more fun if people would like that. xD I could even take bead requests if anyone has any. let me know how you feel about getting a second bracelet maker, or if this first version is already big enough.
