What is the most important quality in someone in order to trust them/befriend them?

• ciarbre doesn't much care for friends, so it's no real difference to him who or how or why or what the supposed "friends" are like. he's a chameleon - witty, charismatic, and breathtaking, and his personality is tremendously overpowering. in the few he does trust, loyalty remains the most important quality. blind, unwavering, unquestionable loyalty. and he offers it, in kind.
Do you have a role model? Someone you look up to, past or present.

• "a role model?" his head tilts. "can't say i've ever given one much thought. i mean, obviously the king, the knight commander... you know. the usuals." his smile does not reach his eyes - he is lying, and you can tell.
  you prod him for a better answer. he eyes you more curiously now.
  "and what would you know of other notable names from round here? truth is, none of my role models are known to you. they're the faces you walk by on the street and never think of again..." his voice trails off. clearly this means more to him than what's on the surface, but that doesn't make it any more interesting. he seems.... oddly smug. weirdo.
What is your favorite memory from your adolescents/childhood?

• the simple answer is catching frogs with his mother and brother in the creek by their home as a child. the more interesting answer, however, is the memory of stepping into the damp cave, shivering and alone, in his adolescent years. the stale, heavy air... the silence. the feeling of knowing everything was about to change, forever. the warm glow.
When was a time you were grieved?

• "i'm grieved every time i leave the room," he says with a wink. getting ciarbre to take an interview seriously is as easy as counting the hairs on a feral cat - enjoyable, impossible, and dangerous.
When was a time you were embarrassed?

• ..... ciarbre stares at you for an uncomfortably long time, utterly silent. then, he continues to talk about his day as though you never said anything at all.
Favorite color?

• "well, obviously gold. but it's hard not to enjoy the yellow of a field of buttercups in the spring."
Favorite food or meal?

• don't let his high strung persona and delicate attire mislead you into thinking ciarbre is a man of a refined palate. his go to meal is a shepherd's pie - warm, filling, and ever customizable to the mood and the environment.
Favorite time of day?

• "when the sun finally dips below the horizon as it sets, and the last few rays of light are vanishing from the air. when the night's magic takes hold, and the world goes to sleep."
Favorite weather?

• a beach day in mid spring - breezy, slightly cloudy, maybe a tad overcast. but with the sun peeking through rvery now and again.
Favorite season?

• hes a spring girlie ! ciarbre loathes the cold
What is your greatest strength?

• ciarbre's greatest strength is his charisma. doors open faster for a friendly face than for anyone else, so he finds that by making friends and maintaining a network of familiarity and camaraderie with his city, he is able to get most anywhere he pleases quickly and without question.
Do you have a pet familiar or, if not, what companion would fit you best?

• he'll never admit it, but he adores cats. he often feeds the strays around his home. he refuses to let them inside, though, as he has no interest in litter training them.

Lore:
It was cold on top of the mountain. Piercing blustery winds came shrieking through the mountain pass. It howled as it wound between the peaks. The solo Fable stood, braced against gale. He was used to the neverending wind but that didn’t make it more pleasant or less dangerous. He had lived on these peaks all his life. He had only survived by learning every necessary tip and trick to survive in the extreme cold.

His body, too, was made for survival in these lands. Not that it made it easy, just possible. His coat did a lot of the work of keeping warm for him but he still had to find food and shelter in a landscape that was overwhelmingly white, barren, and dangerous. He always had an extra set of eye shields on him, without them he would quickly lose the ability to see due to the blindingly white view. His nostrils had a specialized morphology that warmed the air before it entered the lungs. Otherwise, the mucus in his nose and lungs would have frozen long ago.

He needed to get to the next mountain over. The area he had been in the last few days had been covered in several more feet of snow overnight. The grazing here was now impossible. He knew of a protected cave with a partly sheltered valley that might still have some somewhat easy to access grass available. It was a gamble but better than staying here to starve. He studied the mountains and the passes, planning his trip from this advantageous elevated spot. Once he got down from the peak, it would be hard to see very far ahead. He could see the wind whipping up the snow a thousand feet below.

As much as he loved to fly, he knew it would be much too dangerous to risk today. Despite his very dense layers of feathers, in this extreme world there were many days when the wings were useless for flight- The transition from less cold to winter times when rain was possible.His dense coat and wings were pretty waterproof but even they had a limit against major downpours. And if a full soaking was followed by a freeze? No, you did not want to be up in the air for that. True winter brought temperatures so cold it could freeze the small blood vessels despite the insulating feathers. Windy seasons where the volatile winds at maximum speeds meant a risk of splattering against a cliff face if a particularly nasty gust hit at the wrong moment. There were a lot of conditions to take into consideration before flight.

It was the middle of winter and along with the killer cold temps, today was one of those ‘volatile wind’ days. He huffed a sigh and began to carefully pick his way down the slope. It would take much longer to reach the next mountain by foot but better that than to never arrive at all. He soon tuned out the wails of the wind. The breath stealing cold became a background sensation. He focused on each hoof placement, knowing a slip here would be fatal.
