Small and fierce birds, hunters, faster than any other; they're practically Motley's patron saint. Motley wants to be able to do something. Circling overhead, swooping towards the cats they don't like and letting the wind lift his body away from the consequences.

Maybe, if Motley were a peregrine falcon, he could ignore the rattle of gravel in his chest anytime he pushed himself too hard. Maybe, if Motley were a peregrine falcon, they'd get better. They could feel guilt-free again.
