Belial is the immortal antagonist in my lore and a MAJOR villain. He is conniving and manipulative, and always gets what he wants at whatever cost he needs to pay. The lines in this song, such as "Close-lipped smile 'cause there's blood on your teeth" and "Gave you a chance, already regret it" allude to the other gods being tricked by Belial's fanciful words and visions of grandeur. He presents himself as their savior and their "just king of the gods," but in reality he's their worst enemy and their downfall. Eventually, the primordial gods, who are older than even Belial himself, see through his lies, as depicted in the line "Trippin' on words, alibi starts slippin'" and overthrow him in a coup. Once defeated, he begs for their mercy but is denied, like the line "You don't get to make amends like your hand's still clean." Unfortunately, much damage had already been done and the actions of Belial will never forgotten, which is shown in the line "But we both know forgotten doesn't mean forgiven."
