Sometimes other WMEs swear they see the the skeletal dog's head move out of the corner of their eye... But Stiles is crazy right? The plastic toy is not possessed... right?

Comfort Item: Fil, as he's called, will carry around an empty feed sack wherever he goes. He's taken up the habit of picking up random objects like trash, cool rocks, flowers, and anything else he deems is cool. He found out really quickly he only had so much space in his mouth (after choking on the aforementioned "cool rock") and decided the empty feed sack would work well to hold his growing hoard collection.

Comfort Item: An old, bedraggled rabbit foot named Max. Yes, named - the foot is his actual (some would argue imaginary, but shhh, dont say that out loud anywhere Fennec can hear you) friend. Fennec can talk with Max and takes Max everywhere with him on his travels. Max sure is a very sassy fellow, for a rabbit paw! He has very sharp comments about every situation, and his comments always make Fennec laugh and feel better when he's feeling down. Max sure knows how to cheer him up, no matter what. Best friend for life! Fennec takes good care of his buddy - Max got a little home inside a tree hollow and Fennec brings Max various cool things to play with, like colorful beads or curious shells!
What do you mean "its 4th "Max" already?".. Preposterous, there's just one and only Max!!

Comfort Item: When Teddy was a foal he had a strong bond with a child that visited the ranch that he lived on. The child had to move far far away. The child always carried around a small old child's blanket. The child and foal had always played together and sometimes even played tug of war with this blanket. Because of these games, the blanket was dirty and had many holes and rips. This was the last day the blanket was rough handled, as the child handed it to the foal for 1 final time. The child gave him a meaningful hug before walking off while crying. The child then walked away with his mother and the mother asked "are oyu sure you're ready to let go of your favorite blanket?" The child held up a foal horse blanket that the owner gave to him and said it's like an exchange. Something to always remember each other by, and that he valued the foal's blanket just as much as he had the one he gave to the Zebra. Years go by, and Teddy still carries around an old ragged up blanket that only gets dirtier and more torn up as the months and years go by. He doesn't allow his owners to take to wash or fix it up as it's scent is what helps him remember that strong bond!

Comfort Item: An old, plastic water bottle! Rowan has become rather attached to a plastic water bottle that was dropped by an inattentive human, and has become quite enamored by the way it crinkles and crunches when touched. Over time, he has become quite protective of his little treasure, and will often insist on carrying it in his mouth wherever he goes - careful to ensure it never tears or pops, and continues on with its marvelous crinkling!

Comfort Item: Jezzie had a large charm of butterfly wings in his mane as a foal, started by his old owner. He has returned to the wild for some years now and its turned into a matted mess; itll never be as beautiful, but in any state, it'll always be his comfort item of fond memories. While he is glad he doesnt have fingers or thumbs to remove the unsightly charm, hed rather die than take it out. Jezrien is too dramatic about that ugly collection. It was all of his owners favorite wings: monarchs, a few uncommon blue and white iridescent pieces, even some pink moth wings-

Now.. its.. lost all of its color. But its visual appeal was never the true value it represented and still has.

Comfort Item: Heath's ear

Ask anyone in the herd what the most embarrassing, goofy habit of any equid is and every hoof would point to Sasha. The palomino would probably be caught in the act: teeth grazing lightly on a poor herd-mate's ear.

Let's start from the beginning. Sasha and Heath were foaled in the same season. From the get go Sasha had immense separation anxiety. Unfortunately for him, his mama had one of those leave-him-with-any-babysitter-available issues. Sasha was naturally drawn to Heath. Everyone said they could be twins! This whole mortifying affair started on a stormy night. The colts were huddled together, as one does during scary thunder and lightning fests. It had started innocently enough. Heath's face was all up in Sasha's business and when one ear swatted his face, Sasha nipped the offending appendage. Heath was too distracted by the storm to move his ear out of the way, so Sasha kept nibbling. The other colt never got the hint. Sasha dozed off chewing on the ear of his buddy.

Fast forward to today. Old habits die hard. Heath, shy and pleasing as they come, lets his friend mosey on over to nuzzle on his ear. It never hurts. The other stallion is not biting, it's a sensory thing so he says. God grief is it awkward to watch for everyone else in the herd! And believe me, everyone has told Sasha to please quit it with the ear chewing. He has a collection of excuses:

Heath doesn't mind.

I'm not hurting anyone.

My teeth itch.

At least I don't thrash on the ground to scratch my behind like you, Rohan!

Whatever the reason, I wouldn't hold your breath that Sasha will give up his living teether. Best avert your eyes. Everyone else does.

Congratulations! I was fully expecting to pick something more random, but I guess someone else’s ear is a random item. It made me embarrassed on his behalf and that cringe moment got you your win!
