Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Folktales say that if you fold 1000 paper cranes, you can have a wish granted.

To win this Kalon, you must fold your own paper crane, and tell me what this Kalon is wishing for.
You have 500 words max for the prompt. You may pretty up your form however you wish.

Rules:
The instructions on the cover are meant to be a loose interpretation, so if you don't know how to fold an origami crane, you can find clearer guidelines with a simple google search.
Whatever kind of paper you want to use or decorate is up to you.
Take a picture of your crane and post it in your form.
Make sure your username is written on the crane for proof it's yours!

The small room was basked in a soft golden glow, soft rays of light filtering across the space, leaving a gentle light in their wake, the sun had all but already begun to set over the horizon, leaving all to be silent, minus for the soft cool evening breeze that gently blew through the open window, causing the rainbow glass mobile to softly chime throughout the room.

Pieces of paper were to be found, here, and there, and just about everywhere.
The shelves holding a couple of jars of poorly folded and paper starts, as well as a few odds and ends of different origami animals. But most off all, the walls were covered in hundreds of paper cranes, threaded together so that they cascaded down like waterfalls of color, catching every breeze as though they were moments away from taking flight.

The room was filled with such warmth and creativity, even the IV drip contained strings of beads and ribbon, giving the once hospital equipment more color and life.

And sitting across the white sheets of the bed, more paper laid, from solid color, to patterns and designs, just waiting to be turned into one of many cranes.

Soft delicate hands worked, fingers moving across the paper like a composer reciting a melody that was known to heart. The touch gentle and thoughtful, each movement being purposeful, like a golden thread woven into every fiber of a tapestry. Each fold, every crane, holding the same whish that was desperately wanting to be granted.

A soft sigh left Horizon's lips as she leand back against the pillows, her gaze settling on the setting sun, it was another end of the day, another end of treatment, another flock of cranes folded, another step closer.

Her fingers absentmindedly rubbed her arm, the joint feeling a little sore.
Since her illness she had come to find comfort and solace, in the crafts of art.
especially in origami, the skill and thought put into the craft being enough to pull her thoughts from the constant fight and strugles she face from sun rise to sunset, day in and day out. It was an escape, a way to find joy and color in a place that only seemed to be slowly fading. A way to carry on, a beacon of joy in her flickering flame of hope.

Maybe there isn't a wish at the end of all this... And even if there was, she knew, deep in her heart of hearts that these paper birds could never truly give her what she yearned for...

A cure...

To be free from this illness, to walk freely again, to feel normal. This wish, it just wasn't in their power... But even still she folded, 990... Ten short of a thousand.
For even if these birds can't heal her or grant the wish she wanted, they did help her this far, and their colors brought her a joy she could never regret.

And that was enough for her.
