She was bit by one as a calf when her mother told her they give good luck. Traumatized. Now she runs in terror every time she sees one, and no, she’s not getting close enough to try to tell the two species apart. You know when they swarm on the outside of your house? She chooses to climb through a side window just to avoid them. They all laugh at her when she tells them, wishing it could be something simple like spiders but no. Spiders would be to easy..

Prompt: She is afraid of yellow jackets. She grew up and currently lives on a ranch so yellow jackets weren’t too uncommon to see. When she was a calf she had been playing to close to one of their nests and was running all over it without knowing it. She got chased by them and then got stung a bunch of times. The ranch owner had to call the vet and get her fixed up. Now Sahara thoroughly checks the ground before she runs or plays and if she finds a nest she stays far far away from it.
