Prompt: coscoroba grew up in a family of storytellers, their entire family and all of their family friends always gathered once per moon to bond and exchange stories. one meeting, during a particularly heavy starfall, their conversations and tales followed the stars. they exchanged stories both long and short, but one in particular resonated with coscoroba.

the story was that of an ancient artist and lover, who fell in love with the person with the most beautiful person. what coscoroba remembers of it, is that their love was short lived as his wife died in a tragic accident, by snake bite. in this grief, the artist played music that moved the heavens and earth, his pain being heard by both gods and people. this gave him an opportunity to seek his wife in the underworld, and he struck a bargain for her. he was to lead her out of the underworld without looking back, and the artist agreed to such terms. the story goes, that he looked back right at the entrance because he lost faith, thus breaking the terms and losing his wife.

coscoroba however, grew up a hopeful romantic, and likes to tell the story differently. some nights they say that they both got out and got to live their lives happily until the end, some nights they claim that he did look back, but not out of a lack of faith. out of love, out of excitement, and hope. and ended up forgoing their mortal life to stay with their wife, not seeing another path forward without her.

the story, he was told, was that of the artist's constellation. due to his songs of his grief over his wife, his lyrawas brought up into the sky to commemorate his love for her.

It brings her feelings of joy and memories of home whenever she gazes up at the little stars. When she was younger, she named each one after a family member and still recounts the names to this day; Kouku and Uzi, her parents; Bip, her grandmother; Laiwai, her father's brother; and of course, Nova, Shihou, and Tsabai, her siblings. She never really got the hang of seeing constellations without some sort of marker and he knew it would be easy for her to spot Orion's belt. The day before he passed, he explained Orion's shoulder, Betelgeuse to her, he told her it was his favorite star and she believes that when he passed, he became a part of the star, as the star appeared to shine brighter on that night.
