➤ What's a Pyroshift?
Pyroshifts are enchanting, cat-like creatures born of flame and stone. Their bodies are composed of a coal-like core with crystals growing outward. All pyroshifts have manes and tails that burn with vibrant, living fire, often referred to as pyro. They possess unique magical abilities, such as shapeshifting and healing. Each Pyroshift embodies the delicate balance between passion and stability, guided by two ancient deities: Ignara and Lithora.
Behavior ⤷ Pryoshifts are social animals, preferring to be with their own kind where their flame burns brighter. Pryshifts often choose to 'share flames, a bonding ritual that involves temporarily merging flames to strengthen bonds or heal minor injuries.
Habitat⤷ Pyroshifts are often drawn to warmth from heat sources such as geothermal vents or pyroshift gatherings. Pyroshifts can live anywhere however, including cold environments when in large groups. When resources are scarce, Pyroshifts may retreat into their coal-cores in order to conserve energy until they can reignite.
Mates + Offspring
⤷ Pyroshifts can be any gender and can mate with all genders. Pyroshifts produce offspring through a sacred ritual where two parents combine pieces of their flame. During the ritual, both parents' flames will intertwine, forming a small ember that will eventually develop into 1-4 new pyropups. After this intense process, the parents experience a temporary depletion of energy, requiring them to recharge. During this time, they draw warmth from natural heat sources or engage in social feeding to replenish their energy reserves. This period of rest also strengthens their connection to Ignara and Lithora, reminding them of the sacred responsibility of creation.
Where do they come from?
⤷ Pyroshifts originate from within deep caves, where intense heat and pressure
fostered their creation. They are believed to be the first children of Ignara, the Goddess of Flame, and were then nurtured by Lithora, the Guardian of Earth and Stone.
➤ Who are Lithora and Ignara?
Lithora and Ignara are ancient deities who gave birth to the first Pyroshifts together.
Ignara, The Goddess of flame, infuses each pyroshift with her strength, passion, and the spark of transformation. Her fire breaths in every heartbeat, giving her children vitality and purpose.
Lithora, The Guardian of Earth and Stone, blesses them with courage, protection, and unyielding resilience. Her steady presence grounds the pyro's fiery spirit and guides them through cycles of light, darkness, and rebirth.
Gifts⤷ Both goddesses have bestowed gifts upon their children,
✦ When in grave danger or severely injured, Pyroshifts may retreat into their coal-cores in order to conserve energy until they can reignite. However, if a Pyroshift burns too low for too long, they may become trapped in this state.
✦ Pyroshifts can shift into small orbs of fire, allowing them to navigate narrow spaces, escape predators, or travel harsh terrain.
✦ If a pyroshift becomes gravely injured or stuck within a stone-like state, their community may gather by combining their flames. This kind of power is capable of healing severe wounds or reigniting the flame within a dormant Pyroshift.
