"And Pollen is often following after her, teaching him to fight will bolster some of his own confidence."

Tangletwist and Antlerstrike sat beside each other in a quiet corner of the garden. Their tails rested
near each other as they talked about their squires in the quiet of the night. "Joint training is
definitely out of the question." Tangletwist mused. "At least until they're older. They're a bit..."

"Codependant?" Anterstrike huffed. "Cordy did a good job, but she wasn't exactly a mother to them.
Not any fault of hers of course, nor do I blame Callashell. It's..just a fact."

Tangletwist nodded, leaning against Antlerstrike's shoulder. "You heard the news about Promisedrose?"

Antlerstrike laughed "Everyone and their mother knows she's expecting. I wouldn't be surprised if our
neighbors knew as well. It's good news for the Court. Sure we're growing at a nice pace, but having
our future leadership secured? I know Peonystem had to have put you through that same lecture
on the ways of the Court, even the ways that don't matter yet."

Tangletwist purred, before she sat up, lifting her chin and in a voice slightly too high and nasally to
be anything but a mimicry of Peonystem "Do not become complacent with the Crown Roses's involvement
in the Court, for someday she will step back and take on a fully independent role as our leader, the
perfect impartial judge for all matters. The words of the court are to be carried out as though they
are her own, for one day, we are entirely through whom she will speak."

She had to stop a few times to stifle laughter, but when she finished, Tangletwist gave in, leaning
against Antlerstrike once more. "Please, Peonystem maybe. But Promisedrose? she's too involved. I
just can't see her stepping back."

Antlerstrike nodded. "She's got nine live though, blessed by The Eternity and all that, who knows if
we'll even be around to see her step back."

"She has nine deaths not eight reincarnations as herself." Tangletwist corrected. "And Eternity's
blessing or not, everything is up to chance. She could be struck by lightning every day for the next
quarter-moon, and where will that leave her? Still herself, just with a few less deaths to go around.

"Evos is powerful but...not even he can completely stop the claws of The Finality."

The two fell into a somber silence. Although neither had grown up believing in the spirits, Their
existence was undeniable. Including that of those who had Rotted.

WEATHER !!

LEAFBARE || The days are cold. The nights are long. Snow falls periodically, coating the grass with a frosty sheen of ice. It is perhaps the hardest season, but many agree it to also be the most beautiful. Hungry predators prowl through the forests, greedy enough to attack fiercer opponents for the slightest chance at a measly scrap to eat. The levels of sickness rise to an almost unbearable point, and most agree on one thing. Life is hard.

Notecard flings themself in front of Romeow, screeching as the raccoon's jaw latches onto their leg. The two are bowled over, Romeow taking the brunt of the fall. As Notecard writhes beneath the beast, Powdersnow sinks his claws into the raccoon's back. The tom hauls the beast off his clanmates, grunting as the raccoon twisted to bash his head into Powdersnow's side. Winded, he lunges and snaps at the raccoon's ears. Seeing it is far outmatched, it finally stumbles away. Notecard will need 1 moon of rest and 1 cobweb for their bite. Romeow will need 1 moon of rest to recover from his bruises from being crushed beneath his clanmate. Finally, Powdersnow will also need 1 moon of rest to recover from his bruises.
• Boaconstrict's patrol passes uneventful.
• Skaterboy is escorted back to camp from a distance, prodded into the tamers' den. Their fear is quickly confirmed. Skaterboy has greencough and will need 2 moons of rest, 1 hawkweed, and 1 catmint.
• Hotrod's patrol passes uneventfully.
• Babysbreath begins complaining loudly of a toothache, so the patrol turns around and escorts them to the tamers' den. It is decided Babysbreath will need 1 moon of rest or 1 alder bark.

Hunting Patrols:

• Redriot's patrol catches 1 rabbit, 2 mice, and 1 bat.

• Dogpaw and Spritepaw begin hacking and coughing towards the end of their respective training sessions. After a quick investigation, it is determined they have contracted greencough after sharing prey with Skaterboy the previous night. Dogpaw will need 2 moons of rest, 1 lungwort, and 1 catmint. Spritepaw will need 2 moons of rest, 1 honey, and 1 catmint.

leaf-bare -- snow lies in massive drifts over the territories. even the warmest areas feel the effects, from frost killing vulnerable plants, to causing coughs to those who have experienced too much exposure. as prey and herbs have become scarce, there will also be fewer strangers looking to explore the vast clan territories. queens may have a harder time kitting, so medicine cats will need to be well-stocked and prepared for the following moons.

season: leafbare / winter
snow lies in massive drifts over the territories. even the warmest areas feel the effects,
from frost killing vulnerable plants, to causing coughs to those who have experience too
much exposure. as prey and herbs have become scarce, there will also be fewer strangers
looking to explore the vast clan territories. queens may have a harder time kitting, so
medicine cats will need to be well-stocked and prepared for the following moons.

• roachtrack's patrol caught x1 skunk and x1 rat. however, while chasing the rat, smokeymane received a deep scratch on her shoulder. though she tried her best to walk it off, roachtrack saw the pain on her face and ordered the patrol to turn back towards camp. there, bitterstem determined that smokeymane will need to be treated with x2 herbs and rest to recover.

The two newest members of the Court had gotten along surprisingly well.

Although Alliumstep had spent most of his first few days nearly honey-trapped to Cordylineblade's
fur, he had begun opening up more. Although his voice was quiet when he did speak, he had
come a long way from the shaking nervous mess the Court had first taken in. Especially after
Scallionsnarl had been able to remove the mesh cloth from around his head.

As for Petuniabreeze, despite her gruff appearance the gray tabby was rather calm. It was oddly
similar to Alliumstep's behavior honestly, which was probably why the two got along. The two had
come from separate backgrounds, but had bonded over the need to appear stronger than they were.

At least that was Lotusseed's theory. She was just grateful that so far, there hadn't been any problems
with adjusting to the Court life. Although it hadn't happened yet, Lotusseed knew that some cats
struggled with being around large groups, and she dreaded what would happen when they inevitably
took in a more..aggressive knight.

But for this moon, life was peaceful, which was good seeing as Promisedrose's belly had swollen near
to bursting. She would be kitting soon, and finally stepping back to focus on her family and the court,
as well as the Court affairs at large rather than being so involved. She hadn't been on patrol in moons,
but Peonystem was still acted as though he had ants in his pelt anytime the Crown Rose got "too
friendly" in conversation with the knights of the petal.

Lotusseed knew it would be important to the structure of the Court that Promisedrose's role be less
involved with the day to day, but she quite well though that Peonystem need not worry as much.

Despite the toll the pregnancy was taking on her, it was quite clear that the Spirits presence had begun
to descend a bit further onto Promisedrose. Her gaze fixing on the horizon for beats, the way
she began to quietly pray blessings into the garden, the proof of her labors already present in the
flowers blooming that absolutely should not be doing so with snow drifting from the sky to add to
the already cat-high stacks around the garden.

Their home was clearly Spirit-Touched, and Promisedrose would draw those effects into herself,
keeping the spirits from accidentally enthralling the knights, the blessings of Evos keeping her own
mind safe, even if it kept her from interacting with the knights or squires all that much.
