Hunting 2; Irispelt's patrol caught x1 squirrel and x1 vole. A lone rogue attacked the patrol, driven by hunger. The patrol managed to chase it away, but not without Ravencall being bit on the shoulder. She will need one moon of rest and x1 cobweb to heal

Hunting 3; Gingerdawn's patrol caught no prey as a blizzard quickly ambushed the patrol. After a few hours, it died down and the patrol returned home, but Gingerdawn, Windstone, and Fernshade all got hypothermia and will each need one moon of rest to heal

Hunting 4; Lilacheart's patrol caught x1 pigeon and x1 vole!

Patrolling 1; Thorn's patrol found 10 pebbles!

i'm too lazy to type everything out at the moment and there isn't too much plot going on yet so here's the general note of what happens this moon:

- shadestar meets watergleam, who was more hostile and less accomodating than bayheart to strangers in the forest. impressed by the she-cat's ferocity, shadestar offers her a place within kosmos, knowing they could use more to add to their ranks and grow their colony, and also because she fits who he's looking for. intrigued despite her hostility, watergleam agrees to join the colony.

• the scent of smoke fills his nose, causing his heart to fall into his stomach. the ginger tom wails loudly when he sees hattie's barn has gone up in flames.
• waspsting searches for hours and finds no sign of hattie or their kits. once the fire dies down, the tom searches more for any signs. all that he finds left is their charred remains.

The cats of ShiningClan are a broken, fractured group. The old ShiningClan, a once powerful clan that disbanded due to internal struggles, still watches over their family from the skies, hoping that one day the clan can make a comeback. As The Acatdemy disbands, broken apart by villains, five remain - all five protected by the ancestral relationship to ShiningClan.

Their unspoken leader, Amethyst, is unsure of the past of the clan, and is under an immense amount of pressure to keep their clanmates safe. They settled in an abandoned barn, taking shelter in a familiar sense, driven from their academy. Once the broken clan has settled, Amethyst realizes they no longer want to be the leader, and stumbles upon a spiritual stone - now called the Spirit Stone - where they call upon the ShiningClan ancestors to send someone to help them, to lead them, to show them what to do now that their past clan has disbanded.

The territory is forested, somewhat near Twolegs and popular camping area, and has a Twoleg walking path separating it from the lower valley of the territory.

The trapper’s cavern felt empty now that the older trappers passed their final assessments and moved on to the adult dens. Scimitar was finally healthy enough to join the surveyors while Criollo, Forastero, Trinitario, and Nacional all joined the sinkers. Typically, the older trappers made their nests in the middle of the cavern where the drafts weren’t as apparent and sunbeams would warm the nests during the day and they would be nice and cozy for the worn out trappers at night, but Laika kept her nest by the entrance, still plagued by cave-in nightmares occasionally. Strelka had shoved the elder three mollies' nests together in the center and was currently purring on top of her mega-nest quite pleased with herself. Meanwhile, Belka was trampling Nacional’s old nest grumbling to himself.
“What did my nest ever do to you?” The longhair laperm chuckled as Belka squeaked in embarrassment.
“I’m making it more comfortable,” Belka mumbled. He pushed some of his old moss towards the mess he had made. “There.”
“If you really need to make it more comfortable, I can grab some feathers on my own patrol today. I took most of the good stuff with me to the lower sinker den.” Nacional offered.
“I don’t need your help to build a nest!” Belka insisted.
“Sure looks like it,” Nacional pointedly looked at the nest mess at his feet.
Cutting off Belka’s deep inhale to progress this argument, Laika quickly asked, “Did you come back for something particular?”
“Ah, right!” Nacional lazily flicked his tail, “Fleet sent me to grab you. Meet him by the mine entrances!” He left as quietly as he came, Laika figured he was off to do official patrols now.
“Ugh, why does he always have to come back to bother us!” Belka vented as Strelka regrettably left her cozy pile.
“Bother you,” Laika reminded him, “Strelka and I don’t have an issue with him.”
Strelka let Belka complain for most of the way to the mine until with a sly smile she dropped, “Just because you’re totally into Nacional doesn’t mean Laika and I should be subjected to your weird flirting every time you see him.”
Belka’s brain short circuited and only choked noises came out of his mouth. His sisters cackled at his misery. It was only after Fleet and Nickel’s introduction to the mines and when they were all stepping inside the first tunnel did Belka get his voice back. “Nuh-uh!” He protested, drawing curious looks from the leading sinkers. “F-flirting? I-I’m not! D-do you think he thinks it’s flirting? Does he know?”
“While I’m sure this is extremely important,” Fleet narrowed his eyes at the trappers, “but I’m certain Nickel taking time out of his busy day to make sure you don’t get lost and trapped in the mining tunnels should take precedence.”
“But being young and in love is such an important experience as well,” the ever romantic Nickel leaned into Fleet and chuckled, “however,” his expression turned serious as he faced the young cats, “knowing these tunnels even with your eyes and ears closed could one day save your life. If you are going to become a sinker that will eventually come down to the tunnels to hunt, even one little mistake could cost your life.”
The warning certainly sobered Strelka and Belka up but Laika trembled. “Like Rachmaninoff,” She muttered, almost to herself.
“Yes,” Nickel nodded, “Like Rachmaninoff. Now we have plenty of safe, known routes that are common for prey and us alike. That is what you will stick to during any trapper training in the mines. Only trusted senior members would ever be sent out on mine patrols to explore and map out new and unknown routes to see if there would be any benefit to continue that way.”
“I heard that a group of cats are even connected to our mine tunnels,” Strelka said.
“Correct, a special patrol was sent out to scout the factuality of that claim and it appears to be true.” Fleet explained, “They call themselves CanaryClan, and we have temporarily blocked the section that leads us to one another. For safety reasons.”
The five cats continued in silence for a good while, the trappers trying to burn every rock and corner into their memory for later. Nickel and Fleet showed them the most common paths, pointing out prominent hunting spots along the way. The entire time, Laika’s chest kept getting tighter and tighter, her vision going in and out of focus, and she couldn’t help glancing up and around at all the rock surrounding them. She didn’t say anything; it would be embarrassing to stop the adults who weren’t even her mentor because she just hated being underground. The last few minutes of the tour stretched on forever in her mind, and any voices speaking were an unintelligible blur in the background and it took all of her willpower to place one paw in front of the other.
As soon as they all stepped back into the sunlight, Laika collapsed against the nearest boulder and took deep, shaky breaths. “You alright?” Strelka immediately was at her sister’s side, stroking her with her fluffy tail.
“What’s wrong?” Belka was a little slower to figure out something was wrong but he was just as concerned.
“I-I’m fine,” Laika failed to keep the quiver from her voice. Fleet frowned; he’d promised Ripley to take good care of her trapper today and it didn’t seem like it was going quite as planned.
“I’ll take her to the creek to refresh,” Nickel swooped in smoothly, “You can take the other two hunting.” Strelka followed Fleet with a concerned glance back to Laika while Belka stalked ahead, already focusing on their next task.
Nickel allowed Laika to catch her breath before letting her set the pace to dip their paws in the creek. “Not a big fan of the mines, huh?” Nickel broached the topic.
“I guess not,” Laika stared at her own reflection in the water. She looked tired.
“Thinking about Rachmaninoff?” Nickel recalled her bringing him up earlier in the tour.
“Is that silly?” Laika put a paw through her reflection, causing it to go wavy.
“It’s good to have a healthy fear of dangerous things,” Nickel said, “I go to the mines understanding that even though I know all the current routes and potential threats and I do everything correctly, things might still go wrong and I might not return back to camp.”
“It seems that a lot can kill a cat lately,” Laika lamented remembering the slew of accidents that befell Earthfall.
“True, we have been on a streak of bad luck,” Nickel winced, “It seems ravine living has a bit of a dangerous baseline. But this moon has been pretty peaceful so far!”
Just then, Enya and her hunting patrol came upon them from upstream. Cutlass and Muffin were balancing Derby’s drenched, limp body between them. “They got caught underwater and drowned,” Enya explained as she saw the two’s shocked expressions.
“Well, it seems I spoke too soon…” Nickel muttered sheepishly and Laika braced herself for yet another vigil.

- The dog pack doesn't seem to be faring well in leafbare, because the patrols found no trace of them. Malibusky and Thorn decide to let them be for the moment and focus on the clan's wellbeing in this difficult season.
- Gingerdawn is absolutely crushed. Devastated, even. His first patrol had ended terribly and his friends were all confined to the medicine den because of it, despite his best efforts to get them back to camp as fast as possible. Pepperstripe and Sesamestreak come to visit him and comfort him that leafbare patrols are always the most difficult, and he was already very brave. Softfern affirms that if they had been any slower, they might not have been able to make it back, so Gingerdawn saved his friends' lives.
- Windstone and Fernshade have their own nice bonding time within the medicine den. Horizonsong and the rest of their friends basically know what's going to happen, even if the two deny it.
- Right after leaving the medicine den, Flamesight declares that he wants to prepare for his Fighter assessment. Crowfrost expresses his concern about Flamesight doing it in this particular season, but Flamesight still wants to give it a try.
- Irispelt decides to leave the ranks of the Fighters. After her paralysis moons ago, her movements have been affected and she's been having back pains. She thinks it's better to do less vigorous work and leave the position for someone who is actually qualified.
- Sorrelrose spends time talking to the leaders and medicine cats, giving them some advice on how to make it through leafbare.

xx→ Gorsestar hoped that the lack of prey boiled down to bad luck, or that the recent snowfall that currently draped the mountains in a cold, white coat scared their prey into their dens early. The deep pit of unease in her chest only clenched around her heart tighter when her patrol regrouped with the other hunting parties, who were also as empty-handed as Gorsestar's patrol. Buzzingflight reported that any prey she and her cats found looked skinny, some sluggish as if sick - Twigtoes stated that her hunting grounds were covered in Twoleg stench, which must've scared away other animals in the area. As every cat across all three patrols looked to their leader, Gorsestar felt the world close in on her. Swallowing thickly, the leader tried to reassure everyone, saying their fresh-kill storage was still plentiful enough to sustain the Clan, but it did little to help the unusual situation and the worry that swept through the cats.

xx→ Barleymask tripped and fell into the river, struggling to stay afloat in his panic. Nimbusglare Salmonbubble dove after him, ignoring their own chills as they helped the tom back to shore. The two hunters quickly went to work, licking his fur the opposite way to stimulate blood flow, which luckily saved his life. | Barleymask requires two moons of rest.

↪ Silverstar's patrol met the badger head-on; the creature was sighted far too close to camp for comfort, and the kits often complained of a musky stench outside that their parents knew couldn't be anything but the badger. With the strength of numbers on the cats' side, Silverstar hoped that the could drive the beast away without too much brawling, but the badger was persistent in snapping at the nearest cat that placed a paw step too close to it.

At one point it paused and a deep growl sounded in its throat - a warning before it lunged at Tanglepath and seized the scout's paw in its mouth, forcing him to the ground. The cats charged forward at once to rescue their Clanmate, but Heatherdust pushed past everyone before they could stand a chance - the molly screeched with fury as she slammed herself against the badger that dared to harm her kit, the sheer force of her blow enough to loosen the badger's grip.

Tanglepath yowled at Heatherdust to fall back, struggling to get up on his weakened leg, his eyes wide with fear for his mother as he could barely see her gray-and-white pelt amidst the snow she and her opponent kicked up from their violent fight. Silverstar ordered Lichendust and Squirrelheart to his side to provide Heatherdust some help, and together the three high ranks succeeded in pulling the badly-beaten badger away from the other cat, sending it limping out of ChaosClan territory. Silverstar's eyes widened with surprise when he took in the damage Heatherdust did on her own, lightly tugging at her scruff as she tried to squirm out of Silverstar's grasp to catch up the deputy and captain as they followed her prey, despite her own injuries.

A final growl bubbled out of the senior scout's throat, blood falling from her muzzle to the ground, and Tanglepath gasped as he helped his mother stand when she slackened out of Silverstar's grip, letting her lean against his side. Now that she knew her son was safe, Heatherdust let herself relax, giving Tanglepath a final lick on his cheek before she fainted. She never woke up...
