Dovie looks over the patterns carefully, examining each one with the air of a practiced eye - or at least someone pretending to have one. She considers each of them carefully and then turns her attention to those around her. Her eyes wander, taking in the choices her neighbors have made, and then eliminated those choices from her own board. From there there was simply preference. She settled eventually on stepping stones - enjoying it's elegant look and it's balanced sort of symmetry and most of all the way it seemed to look more complex than most the others. It suited her perfectly.

Cow: Wednesday
Prompt: Which block or blocks will you use? Why did your Buttermilk choose the blocks they did? Minimum 100 words.

Wednesday was eager to return to Barnaby’s booth the next day after picking out her lint thread. She did keep the cotton thread too just in case her crazily spun thread didn't hold up well. She plopped herself down into the seat aggressively, almost missing the seat all together and falling flat in her face. She grinned at Barnaby in a slightly creepy way, although that wasn’t her intention. As Barnaby spoke about the blocks in a quilt she listened intensely. As he handed her the images for the options if blocks she almost snatched it from his hands.

“Oh wow…” she mumbled “these look so cool but complicated .” Perhaps Wednesday would go for a more simple design like the 4 Patch Quilt, but truthfully it didn't call to Wednesday. She continued to look over the options almost unable to decide.

“I want them all!” She slammed her hand down on the table along with the images, she could feel the others staring at her in an odd way for her dramatic gesture “but that's unrealistic! I really like the pinwheel and 6 point star ones. So lets do the point star in the center surrounded by the pinwheel! Hahaha sounds fantastic!” She leaned back into her seat, eagerness filling her bones and making her vibrate with excitement.

Prompt: Which block or blocks will you use? Why did your Buttermilk choose the blocks they did? Minimum 100 words.

Nesquik was so puzzled as she flipped through the options. Did these mean something? She frantically looked over the page. What would Milkshake like?? A 9-block? A 4-patch? It seems like a more simple option, maybe it'd be easier. Her eyes widened at the flying goose pattern. 'People can make those...??' She shook her head, lost in thought. It felt like forever had passed before she finally made it to the end. Her brain was exhausted, but the last option took her breath away - it was perfect!
    The 6-point star.
It reminded of her of her own little star back at home. Sure, she may not be as little anymore, but Milkshake was still Nesquik's pride and joy. She didn't know how difficult it was, nor would she care even if she did know - Nesquik's mind was made up. She pointed at the pattern and beamed a big smile at Barnaby, proudly announcing "I'll do this one, please!"

Cow: Iku
Prompt: Which block or blocks will you use? Why did your Buttermilk choose the blocks they did? Minimum 100 words.

Iku brings her attention to the patterns laid out and ponders her options and opts for the six point star block and four patch. She’s usually indecisive but they looked easy enough to work with and thought they could potentially workout to be cute together.
Iku sighs happily, a choice that didn’t take forever nor make her frustrated with too many options. She felt her shoulders relax a bit as she smiled to herself. Maybe this wasn’t gonna be so bad. Maybe new things aren’t the worst decision ever and don’t all end in huge messes and what seems like never ending tears.
She laughed again. She didn’t know why she always got herself so worked up over such small things and rarely did it ever go the way she thought it would.
All she could hope for was a blanket that lasted more than a couple years and something her gram would be proud of.

Cow: Kore
Prompt: What fabrics did your Buttermilk choose? Are they all solid? Maybe some florals? Are they going for a specific color scheme? Minimum 100 words.

Kore stared at the quilt-to-be before her. So far, she has chosen light blue wool as her thread of choice as well as going for the lone star design block. She glanced around the room before her eyes settled on a white fabric in the midst of a folded pile of quilt backings. Upon taking it out, Kore revealed it to be a white quilt backing with small bouquets of wildflowers printed all around as its design. White is a good match to her light blue colour and Kore adores the floral theme that it’s got going on.

As Kore glanced around even more, she came across a large basket of various strips of fabrics. Some had gorgeous designs on them. Hmmm. Maybe stitching some of the strips to the quilt backing might look good as well! Kore picked out a few dark blue strips as well as another floral theme strip of fabric.
Maybe she could make something like a patchwork band (like #4)

Prompt: What fabrics did your Buttermilk choose? Are they all solid? Maybe some florals? Are they going for a specific color scheme? Minimum 100 words.

Normally Gardenia is partial to the 100% cotton fabrics that she grew up using, but because it’s autumn and the sea on of change, she has decided to go with a flannel fabric this time! She’s always wanted to try flannel fabrics, and she has fallen in love with this specific one!

Flannel season has always been her favorite time of the year, and she’s always wanted to try making a flannel quilt; but trying new things can be a bit tough for her, since she’s very keen on taking the paths most comfortable to her. But after raising so many kids, she’s learned to embrace change, even if it’s out of her comfort zone.

Pancake once again carefully pondered all of the choices presented to her. She wanted her quilt to be absolute perfection. Some of the floral patterns caught her eye, but would so much floral in one blanket be too much? Would it end up being an eyesore rather than a beautiful blanket? Pancake made a mental note of the floral patterns she liked best, but moved her attention over to the solid colors. She was hoping to find something without a pattern to compliment the more intricate and ornate florals, balancing out the visuals of her quilt. She selected a nice, muted lavender color, thinking it would be soothing and comforting for a quilt whose goal was to be exactly that, soothing and comforting. She returned her attention back to the florals, and picked and intricate and slightly more vibrant than lavender ream of fabric. Pancake held them up together, ensuring the two would not clash, and she smiled, knowing that she was happy with her choices now.

Bluebell shuffled around, tossing fabric around as she rummaged through to find the perfect fit to go with the voile (which she had cut into thin strips to use as the "threading") She considered using the leftover fabric from that but shook her head before letting out a soft gasp as she reached down to yank a small floral patterned fabric from the depths of the pile. The delicate rose buds would be the perfect backing fabric for her quilt! How lovely! She narrowed her eyes at some of the solid coloured fabrics before snagging a soft coffee, darker cream, and rich emerald coloured one. These would serve her well with the patterns she's picked already!

Junebug has always been partial to flowers, the scent and beauty forever mesmerizing to her. But she also loves the simplicity of single-colored cloth and especially loves pastel greens. For a while she agonized over the decision, wanting desperately to make *just the right* choice. After all, her first quilt felt so special, and a part of her couldn't help but want it to be perfect. Ultimately unable to choose a favorite, she decided to go with a mix of both. For the square pattern of her stitch she used daisy-printed cloth, while for the rest of it she used a very soft and warm green akin to the fields she grew up in.
