God of deathClan: Fallen Rose KingdomAge: 4 years
Prompt: 376 wordsHe wanted to be normal.Darkness had swallowed him whole after a plummet from the castle. A darkness he thought would take him into the afterlife did nothing of the such. Screeching and whispers filled his ears when he finally awoke from the darkness. Osiris hadn't expected to find himself at the paws of the Kingdom's witch, Everbound. Voices still sang in his head, loud and quiet, peaceful and horrid. All of his thoughts blurred together with the voices.
The witch watched over him with a concern he simply brushed off. As he went to sit up the voices thrummed even louder and forced him to return to his prior position. They sang in his head, whispered, yelled, screeched, but they
wouldn't leave. He could feel the witch's eyes on him, prying at his skull. This only caused him to puff up defensively.
'Let us out..' 'Give us peace..' They hummed and his features pinched as Osiris tried to shut them out. It had just been a fall, what were these voices? His heart raced and he let out a growl. The energy around him had shifted, as though a black cloud had swathed over the room. Perhaps that cloud would give him some form of relief, bless him with silence. He had duties to attend to, he could not have these
voices distracting him.
'Bring us life..' 'Give us solace..'Osiris shook his head and growled yet again. They would not leave.
Why wouldn't they leave? Only now did he realize how much he took the quiet of his thoughts for granted. Everbound was still lurking over him, as though she was waiting for something he could not give her. The witch would not allow him to leave unless he got himself under control.
'Don't hide it..' 'That is useless..'He did not listen to the voices. Instead, he hid his discomfort and stalked out of the witch's cabin. Nobody could know about these voices. Yet, he couldn't help but snap at each cat who walked past him.
Souls. The voices that cried to him were lost souls. Yet, he resigned to the thought that
it was not his problem, and that it wouldn't be for a long while yet. He wanted to be normal.
