There was some debate whether this was genetic or the result of a grooming accident that damaged his coat, his previous owners either couldn't remember or didn't want to clarify.

Prompt: During Belle's time at the kitten mill, she was kept in a dark corner of a wooden building. Luckily for her, that corner had a hole. A hole just big enough for the neighbor's show cat to squeeze through. He was a gorgeous cashmere Bengal with a white base and sandy-brown markings, and he always brought Belle a gift every visit: a feather here, a mouse there. As time went on, the two grew closer and closer, and soon Belle was expecting a litter. Unfortunately for her, the mill workers discovered the hole and boarded it shut. Later, when the kittens' father arrived, he scratched at the boards frantically, drawing the attention of the neighbor and leading to the eventual rescue of the cats inside.

Coat damage is pretty common with longhair cats prone to matting who don't get the grooming they need to maintain their coat, which plays into the prompt here because it's not an uncommon problem in kitten mills for cats to not be properly cared for!

XD thank you. I'd seen it in a dog, well we'd been told the mother probably had two different puppy daddies. Then when we had a cat six years ago that we rescued, I figured she might have had two different kitten sires. Two of her kittens were white with tabby, one is solid tabby (no white), and one was a Snowshoe.
