Prompt: The prophets of the clan have always fascinated Jade. Being able to get glimpses into the future, and prevent disasters from happening, or at a lower magnitude than anticipated is something that excites her. Jade often spends a lot of her time within the prophets den, observing their mannerisms and the ways they communicate with spirits beyond. Unfortunately, her curiosity got too much of her one day, and she would take off in the night, in seeking of one thing; the moon pool.

A body of spiritual water that feeds the Prophets of the clan more information outside of their daily slumbers and dream analyzation. She would make her way through the dark forest, dropping down to the ground in fear when she heard even the smallest sound, even the snap of a twig she herself broke. Eventually, she noticed blue light reflecting off the bark of one of the trees in the forest, and when she emerged, there it sat; the moon pool.

It was beautifully blue, and looked as though it was sparkling, the stars of the sky above reflecting in it beautifully. Jade would narrow her eyes for a moment, admiring the sight as she pondered - how did the cats trigger the moonpool to do something? She would walk forward, staring at the water. She looked left and right, then leaned her head down, lapping at the water for a moment. She would then close her eyes and lay down, falling into a soft slumber.

When she awoke, her eyes rested upon a variety of silhouettes. They looked like they were quarreling - fighting. One figure stood out, that of Envy, would was thrown back before the vision dissipated. Jade would awake and leap to her feet. She had to warn Envy!

When she turned around to run, a soft exhale drew across her head. Gale was above her, staring at her.

"Uhm... hi? Fancy seeing you here?" Jade would awkwardly say, stepping to the side to try and get past him.

"No, fancy seeing you here. You're lucky I had a vision. I haven't seen those in many moons, you could've gotten hurt." The tom said in concern. "But, you look worried. What did you see?"

"Something about Envy getting hurt." Jade replied. "I'm sorry! The prophets are so cool! I want to be them!"

"That... is important. I'll let this go and relay it to the prophets so you don't get in trouble. Come home. " Gale and Jade made their way home in awkward silence.

Furrow slipped and stumbled as he walked along the beach, the pebbles underpaw coated with slimy seaweed. Dark spires of rock loomed on either side of him, casting deep shadows in the evening gloom. Bugs hummed raucously, and coastal birds wheeled overhead, big enough to easily pick him off if they spotted him.
But Furrow’s dark coat came in clutch tonight, and lucky too, because he was boldly unafraid of the dusk around him. He’d been hiding out here all day, and he was sure that now with the twolegs all gone home he’d be able to see what he was waiting for. Mouth open slightly to taste the air, tail held low, he slunk past the last rocky node… there!
A large doglike animal, calmly sitting where the sand met the water, small waves rolling over its fur. A sea lion. Furrow hid behind a gibber to watch as another, smaller creature crawled onto the shore. A mother and her pup, he realized. The pup nuzzled up to its mother, the two huffing affectionately, and Furrow felt a flutter of bittersweet awe in his heart.

Solem isn't sure why he's sad most of the time. He has a loving mom and fun siblings and good times. Yet while his siblings laugh and play and seem so lighthearted he feels...heavy and..numb. He doesn't mean to be a downer and is thankful to be born into a good clan but he doesn't understand why he isn't as quick to smile as his littermates. He likes to romp around with them but is rarely in the mood. His sadness sits heavy on him most of the time.

Luckily Solem's mom is an experience queen, so she noticed her sweet striped kit's seriousness wasn't on a normal level. She asked the healer to take a look at him. Solem sat with the healer and they talked together for a long time. They asked him questions and listened to his responses. After the session was done they thanked him for being so open and honest. They took a few minutes to think things through and then called over Solem, his mom, and the clan leader.

"First off, I want you to know there is nothing wrong with Solem. He's a beautiful kit inside and out. That being said, his brain might need a little help to be closer to neutral like an average cat. I believe the twolegs call it depression. It's a bit unusual to see it in a cat so young but that doesn't mean he can't be helped" They went on to describe different treatment options, stopping to answer any questions they had. The healer didn't think it would be long term, more likely a short-term case while the kit's brain and hormone levels were still developing. Regardless they laid out a short- and long-term plan in case it decided to stick around. Everyone left the meeting feeling positive.

It's been a few weeks and Solem has already noticed a difference. His depression didn't disappear overnight, or even go away for that matter. But the load is lighter. He has good days where his mood is neutral rather than low. He gets more sparks of joy rather than never really feeling that emotion. He still has really heavy days but he now has plans in place for what to do when those days hit. His siblings have never looked down on him. They continue to include him in play but also understand when he wants to sit out. For the first time ever, Solem is beginning to feel hopeful he won't be sad all the time.
