The first part of Mallowwish's name is relatively self-explanatory: she was named after the globemallow plant, whose flowers bloom the same vibrant shade as her pelt.

As for the 'wish'... Mallowwish's natal clan dwelt in a desert, and the ruthless calculus of survival had made them every bit as hard as their surroundings. Whimsy and wonder were luxuries they could ill afford. Such kittenhood fallacies were abandoned as dead weight long before most kits became apprentices. Mallowwish, however, was not so easily dissuaded. She clung to her dreams and her flights of fancy, used them as fuel when prey grew scarce and the heat grew unbearable. They carried her through the desert, away from the clan that birthed her, to a strange land of towering trees and unfamiliar cats.
