Having grown up in a family focused less on… well, family, and more on the legacy of some cat who came before them, Echohart has learned to value found family; he’s come to understand family is more than blood.

While Echohart isn’t bitter to his biological family; they weren’t always bad, though undeniably not regular in the way they exchanged love, he isn’t close with them. In his adulthood, he’s drifted away and decided he’s no longer one of them.

Fortunately, he’s found cats he feels close to and loved by, who will function as his family until he inevitably leaves HollowClan to search for a fresh start in life. This will be a difficult decision for him- having finally found cats he feels comfortable with, and not wanting to leave them behind. It’s with their tearful encouragement that this is the right choice for him that he finally leaves.

As he journeys with this new understanding of what family and love can, and should look like, he’ll find his place in the world. Maybe one day, he’ll go back to HollowClan to see his original family- the one he chose.

Dikùlù had been born without the bottom half of a leg. It had been prophesized and their mother had been warned and so they entered the world as foretold, sans a limb. It was difficult at first. Many of the cats valued their speed, their stealth, their strength, all traits associated with a good hunter or fighter. Dikùlù had felt left out, like they had nothing to be proud of, until they saw Diboka in a clearing one day.

"Ngánga Diboka, what are you doing?" Dikùlù asked.

"I am collecting medicinal herbs. Would you like to help?"

It was in the weeks and moons that followed helping Diboka that Dikùlù realized they had a knack for herb identification. They could identify all of the plants that surrounded their clan and could even help Diboka with their medicine cat duties. Dikùlù no longer valued the stereotypical traits of a good warrior but rather they placed value in their ability to help others in their own way
