Swimming competition! 10 competitors will enter (raffle selection between
the entries), and then I'll roll a bunch of dice to see who swims the fastest and wins 👀
To enter, write minimum 150 words about one of your cats preparing for the competition!

Each dice will have 10 sides, and you'll need 100 total points to reach the finish line.
Dice will be rolled all at once, so if multiple reach the end at the same time, there will be RUs.
(Basically it's like a board game, but I roll all the dice)

Who let Solarroar be in this? Whatever anyways he has a strategy. Gaslight everyone somehow. Well that wouldn’t work too well so let’s think of something else. A new idea he thought of is to just train or maybe coat his fur in something to help him glide through the water. Maybe he can apply some flippers some kitty flippers to push him further. Whatever it is he has somewhat of an idea what he can do. Well he supposes he can wait to see what everyone else does but he’s pretty confident on his strategy. Training could work… nah. Solarroar was confident enough with his strategy and he says it’s fine if he doesn’t win. He says. He awaits by the water and takes a good look at his surroundings to prepare and map out what he’s going to do. Planning ahead could also help him out a ton.

Prompt: crumbs stood by the side of the pool, carefully stretching his scruffy-furred limbs. he was sooo ready. after all, who better to win a swimming competition than the most aerodynamic cat in the barrens? his smooth, furless face would surely be the ultimate advantage. pacing at the water's edge, he eyed his competitors. sure, they looked confident. and suuuure, they looked like they'd maybe touched water before in their lives. but whatever, all that fluff would bog them down, ensuring him the victory! at least, probably. as the race's beginning grew closer, a faint uncertainty crept into his mind. maybe he should have practiced? i mean, of course he'd practiced paddling in the sand outside of camp, but he'd never actually... tried to swim before. whatever, it'd probably be fine. he had spirit! and a really great personality, according to his mom! and that's what counts. feeling confident once more, crumbs readied himself to begin the race.

Prompt: Princess Golden groomed her fur flat in preparation. If it would not weigh her down and given her secret away, she would have completely soaked it beforehand.She'd been practicing her swimming in secret for months, training with guards sworn never to tell a soul. Underneath her fabulous gown, she was wearing her olympic-style bathing suit. She'd instructed her maids to sew her gown such that she could throw it off and run down to the competitors line fast enough that her family could not stop her. Her goggles were with a maid on standby. She mentally ran through all of the practice she did, hyping herself up. Half the race was confidence, after all. If one faltered even for a second, they could lose the whole race. In a game of speed, mind set was key. Golden was ready. Now, she's just waiting for the games to begin so she could claim her place on the podium.

Being Nozomi's guide, Loch was naturally very good at swimming. So when it came time to prepare for a swimming competetion he knew just what he had to do! He hopped into the water and began doing laps around Nozomi's lake, careful to dodge and weave between each and every fish for practice of dodging whatever obstacles might be in the path during the race. He then dove deep underwater and practiced holding his breath just in case he would need those skills aswell. He had no idea what to expect or what type of cats he might be up against but he was confident in his abilites to win! Once he practiced dodging and holding his breath he emerged and he was so exhausted! Nozomi made swimming around for a long time look easy, and so now he knew what he needed to practice more than all...his endurance! And so he hopped back into the water ready to go all night if he had to....

"You sure you've got this?" Octopus asked, looking rather as though he would like to protest but was nervous about seeming impolite.

"Sure I do!" Thrash threw back her head and laughed, then ran in a little circle, allegedly to 'warm up her muscles.' "I'm named after a shark fer' a reason, aren't I?"

"There is no such thing as a Thrash shark," Petrel cut in, looking concerned. "Only a 'thresher' shark. Additionally- weren't you named because the crew dragged you, kicking and thrashing, out of water? THat you were drowning in?"

Thrash had the good sense to look a bit chastened by this.

"W-well," she stammered. "I've gotten a lot better since then, you hear? I've got this all under control. May not be the prettiest swimmer, but I'm sure as heck a fast one. It'll be fine. Promise."

Octopus and Petrel watched her stretch, still looking politely skeptical.

"swimming competition? pah! I've got this in the bag." he counters cockily, grinning a bit too meanly as he stretches out his claws and jogs in place. He seems to think he has this whole thing wrapped up already, he's even glaring at the other competitors as if he might be able to bully them out of competing at all! It's almost like this kid has a superiority complex, or maybe he's just really competitive.

"I'm the only one whose going to be winning any swimming competitions around here!" he crows, stretching out and removing his black cloak to reveal his shredded abs. He's absolutely scaring everyone now -- or at least, he's convinced he's scaring everyone.. he paces the waterside, grinning from ear to ear, already thinking about throwing his win in everyone's face back at home.

Wailingbreeze, while conveniently wrapped up in his own ego, seems to have forgotten that he's afraid of water.

“My dear friend, what ever could you mean? I’m certain you aren’t doubting my incredible swimming abilities,” Sunny-duckling grinned, glancing back at his friend.

“That’s just the thing, though, you’ve literally never swam before in your life. I don’t think even I can teach you well enough to let you win a race.”

“Come on, Winslow! It’ll be just fine. Swimming can’t be that hard. See, I’ll try it now, and you probably won’t even have to tell me anything!”

“Wait, Sachiko, that’s not a good idea-!” Their shout went ignored as Sunny-duckling dove into the water. They jumped in after him, glancing around wildly for the body of his best friend who surely would drown if left too long—

—and met face to face with Sunny-duckling, by some miracle paddling perfectly fine and laughing. “Oh, your face is too funny! Told ya I could figure it on my own! Now all you have to do is cheer me on.”

Wormwood-glade isn’t so sure, but they sigh and drag themself out of the water. “Right. Of course.”

Prompt: Snarl leapt into the water with passion bordering on malice. She would win. She was the fastest, and strongest cat in all the grass. Everyone else is weak, slow, worse than her in every way. She swims through water like fish and turtles. Her laps back and forth between the rocks and trees were going quicker and quicker. it does not matter that she as swallowed enough water to kill a weaker animal. She is better than the water. She does feel bad that Frost keeps getting borderline hysterical on the bank every time her head goes under. She will conquer the water. Frost keeps saying things like, "you're going to drown" and "what about our children" and "please you're not good at this". Preposterous. Snarl is good at every thing. If she dies she dies with honor and her children will remember her as Determined and Strong and a Winner. Frost fusses over her fur as she drags her self gracefully out of the creek and coughs up more water. Swimming is so easy and she Will Win.
