Pointless, stupid, ridiculous.
All words that Mirror would use to describe the “code” that The Veil tends to follow. He hangs around on the outskirts of the group’s territory, often finding himself interfering with whatever the group’s leader is getting up to - considering it one of his favorite activities.

The first time Triptych, he thought his name was, mentioned he was “violating the warrior code”, he couldn’t help but burst out laughing. What code? If it was truly important to the nature of this island, surely the OTHER group would be following it just the same. The other group followed another code that he thought was just as stupid and pointless, but he didn’t bother them as often. Their leader seemed to frighten him somewhat, and he knew it would never be a good idea to get on her bad side. That much he knew in his own personal code.

The second time Triptych told him off was when he started to get annoyed. So what if he’d “violated the code” again? He wasn’t one of the goody two shoes’d clan cats, or whatever he called them. He lived alone, and that was that. No rules from some god forsaken “ancestors” would tell him otherwise. The other loner on the island, some dweeb named Takura, told him that these warriors took their code seriously, but it wasn’t like he really cared. He believed he’d lived here longer than most of them had, and it wasn’t going to make him change how he lived.

Their code didn’t mean anything to him, and it’d stay that way.

Before he came to the Moonlight Sanctuary, Fallenleaf was very accustomed to hunting and eating birds, either for full meals or just as small snacks, depending on what he could find. So, when he came to the Sanctuary and learned that it was prohibited to hunt or harm any avians on the lands, he was pretty confused. The other cats around him described it as a code of honor, but he wasn’t sure what was so honorable about leaving their “feathery friends” alone. They were very plentiful, what would a catch or two here and there hurt ? But it was highly frowned upon and he had been told he would likely disappear from the clan if he disobeyed. This was a particularly harsh threat coming from a leader who hardly punished any other offense, so Fallen couldn’t help but try to get to the bottom of this mysterious law. He followed the biggest bird he could find, hoping to make a point with his actions, but when he finally tracked it down, it started talking to him, as though he were just another bird minding his own business and not a predator intent on making a lunch of the bird. He had never heard a bird talk, and this gave him enough pause that he ended up holding a decent conversation. When he came home a few hours later, Feathersnout asked him how his quest had gone, and he said he wasn’t really sure. He did know, at least, that maybe he wasn’t interested in eating any large birds anymore...

The clan doesn’t have a long list of rules nor are they obsessed with the rule following. It was simple, really.
•Fulfil your role
•Perform your duties
•Stay loyal

Those were pretty much the rules. Ignis doesn’t have a problem with the last rule. He’ll be with this clan till his dying breath. However, he isn’t one who likes to be bound by roles and duties, preferring to do as he likes whenever he likes.
He wants to hunt? That’s the agenda for the day.
He wants to scout? He’s already at the borders.
He wants to be a caretaker? The kittens are already hopping on his back.

No one could really say much to change his mind too, since he’s as stubborn as a bull. Despite that, the clan couldn’t do much and classified him as a vigilante. There wasn’t much they could do and they were tired of the countless hours spent trying to debate his rank while Ignis himself was napping under a tree outside.

Whenever Ignis has decided on a role he wants to play that day, he’ll be sure to perform it to his best. That was one thing that he does. He strongly believes that if you’re doing something, you have to do it your best. Of course there are days where he feels horrible but as long as he’s doing his best, Ignis will feel good about himself.

However, there are some roles that the leader has specified for Ignis not to do, one being a Spy. It carried way too many risks and it was preferred that someone extremely talented and trained take that role on. Ignis was fine with it and after playing so many roles, Ignis eventually found out he was very adept at being a scout. His keen eyesight and stealth has proven to aid the clan time and time again.
