As we bid farewell to 2023, I feel so much pride and appreciation for this community. This year has been nothing short of extraordinary- and for that we thank you, the community! Each event we had felt like such a delightfully chaotic gem, twinkling on the tapestry of Stars' story. From the lovebug flash event to the final few days of catvent, I feel we've grown so much as a community. Thank you for supporting us this year, and may the stars guide us toward a brighter 2024.

Continuing onward, the first call to action for this year would be the annual NPC vote. Each year, in January, the community gets the opportunity to shape the mechanics of Stars itself. With this simple vote, the team will know who to retire from the NPC lineup as we introduce 2 new friends next month. Unfortunately, this year we are not hosting a "Create an NPC" contest-- but in the future will definitely will be bringing it back. You can cast your vote here for which NPC should retire; https://forms.gle/tvAHg6oGQkRNpmFo7 ! Just a reminder you only get ONE vote, please don't try to spam votes just to ensure the NPC you want to retire is picked. We will be keeping an eye on the vote throughout the month and will close it if anyone tries to break the system.

The next announcement is about our second yearly NPC fanart event, happening over on the fanclub page here: Forum/viewtopic.php?p=144233842#p144233842 ! We've hosted an event similar to this before, where players could draw our NPC friends in return for some valuable items. This time, we've decided to host a little earlier in the year to hopefully get everyone acquainted with the Nursery NPC group and say goodbye to whomever is getting voted from the lineup.

Speaking of events, I just wanna hop in here and confirm we are having our yearly February Nursery event. Each year, we introduce 2 new NPC faces to the lineup, retire 2 older friends, and enjoy raised odds for traits to pass in litters. The only change we'll be experiencing this year is that Lovebug is not being celebrated this February. Lovebug may return in another form later in the year, though we aren't sure when yet, but we think everyone will enjoy the new event and it's surprises.

Additionally, the season has changed in explore- we have new quests available- and we are ready to go for the new year. The catvent shop still has a couple days left open so, if you haven't turned in your coupons/tickets, I would rush over asap.

As of today, we have a brand new guide to help clarify one of our edits-- this time being curled/kinked tail! Any tail that curls over the cat's back, points towards the cat's head, or is placed over the back of the cat will henceforth be considered to have the curled/kinked tail edit. No edits will need to be made to currently existing cats or their trait lists for these updates.

I also have some sad news--
Unfortunately, as we enter the new year we must also say goodbye to a handful of familiar faces. Flatterina, sunny-skies, Chanceuxcat, and Cinxer have each been experiencing changes in their lives, prompting them to step away from their roles. Whether it's embarking on new educational pursuits, navigating the complexities of adulthood, or simply managing the ever-demanding work-life balance, these talented and beloved members of our community have found themselves quite busy. Life's journey is filled with diverse paths, and I want to express my gratitude for the valuable contributions each of them has made. While their presence will be missed, I wish them all the best in their future endeavors and hope our paths may cross again.
