this leaf-fall had been particularly unkind to cedarclan, and the approaching leafbare would only be colder. one dawn during this seasonal transition, snowstep awoke light that seemed to be shining far too brightly into his den. as the tom blinked the sleep from his eyes, he discovered the culprit of this unusually blinding glow; fresh snowfall had covered the meadow of cedarclan's camp overnight.

everything was covered in a layer of glittering white, light flurries still descending from the pale grey clouds above. the tom took a stumbling step backwards as a handful of kits rocketed past him, spraying the white powder against his chest and legs. while many of the clan's senior members grumbled about the unfortunate early snowfall, snowstep could barely contain his glee.

he feigned discomfort to some nearby elders, earning approving nods. soon after, though, snowstep rushed out of the camp under the guise of checking whether the nearby lake had frozen. once the tom was far enough he sat, closed his eyes, and listened; typically, he would hear twittering birds, or rustling leaves... but it was silent. a blanket of snow had hushed the forest, and despite the frigid weather, snowstep felt entirely at peace.

Covering anything it can land on, making it a shield for a step to touch the real ground. It will be hard to live in this
cold weather, but it didn't stop frostbite to enjoy building snowmen. It was like friends to him, maybe giving outfits
to match their style of liking. The snow would make his paws cold, it was a warning sign to stop or take a break
from the building, But he couldn't stop the enjoyment of building these fellas! who knows if someone will come
across them, maybe the thought of who even built them ?

He is, during this season most of all, grateful for the warmth of his den.

Teakshine tried to keep the scowl from his face as he felt the cold seep in. This was the problem with patrolling in snow- he gave a little growl of frustration, trying to dislodge the icy clumps from the fur around his legs. It was melting, soaking his fur through. Trying to suppress a shiver, he bent down to lick the snow away, cringing from the cold on his tongue. No matter how carefully he walked, the stuff always found a way to stick to him.

As he worked, a delighted squeal rang out across the camp. Teakshine paused in his washing, looking up to see several kittens bounding through snow, mewing with delight as they sank in almost to their noses. The cold didn't seem to bother them, as they kept laughing and chasing each other through the drifts.

In spite of himself, Teakshine found himself purring in amusement, watching Robinkit barrel into Rainkit and topple her brother to the ground, both of them giggling.

He didn't like the snow himself- but if it made his kits happy, he supposed it wasn't all bad.

Edur was always a peculiar cat. Unlike most cats, he loved the cold weather and snow. Edur could be found frolicking in the snow, While his Clanmates complained about the freezing temperature.

As a kitten, Edur had always been fascinated by the snow. When his mother took him and his littermates outside to play, Edur was the only one who would venture off into the snowdrifts. He loved how the snow felt beneath his paws and how it sparkled in the moonlight.

As he grew older, Edur's love for the snow only intensified. He often spent hours outside, rolling around in the snow and chasing snowflakes. His clanmates would often tease him for being so strange, but Edur didn't care.

One day, during a particularly harsh winter, Edur's clan found themselves running low on supplies. The snow was so deep that hunting was nearly impossible. But Edur knew what to do. Using his knowledge of the snow and his superior tracking skills, he led a hunting party through the snowdrifts, eventually leading them to a nest of mice driven down from the mountains by the harsh weather. Thanks to Edur's expertise, the clan was able to survive the winter.

Prompt: Skee loves the snow. He's always run warm so he looks forward to the cooler season. He loves the cold temps and hushed forest. Dry snow is fun to run through and get that satisfying crunch. Slightly wet snow is perfect for packing if he wants to make a snow cave, snow balls to bat around, or an impromptu ambush site. He seems to dry off pretty quickly and honestly doesn't mind being damp for a short period if it means snow season. Other's in the den will curl up against him to use him as a furnace to dry and warm themselves too.

✶ yes! lobster loves snow! due to the length of his fur, snow clumps up and sticks to him when he plays in it. it creates a white coating around his fluffy feet and back of his neck, making him look old and grayed out. he gets a glimpse into his silver years early every year the snow comes around - its a whole lot of fun but also makes him think about death a little more than other cats

jax swiped the console, the motion sending a shard of light over the surface. on the screen, his fleet of spacecraft navigated around a planet forged of sandstorms and ice. the force of the planet’s gravity slingshot the spacecrafts forward, closing the distance between the opposing fleets. a small alert blipped at the corner of his console, but he ignored it. “how ‘bout that, huh?”

“don’t think i’m getting destroyed.” his friend’s brows knitted in focus. “you are.”

“brave words.” his tongue poked out as he hid the other half of his fleet behind the shadow of a moon. the perfect sneak attack. “from someone about to lose their entire fleet.”

the alert blipped once more, but he dismissed it, setting it on silent. as azi’s fleet neared his trap, he fired the engines of his hidden fleet. maximum speed. full thrusters. blasters activated-

the screen shuttered.
died.

“wait, what?” he choked. “i-”

azi snorted. “been dismissing your alerts, haven’t you? snowfall warning, grid always shuts down.” he tapped the corner of jax’s console and winked. “told you i wouldn’t get destroyed.”
