Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness.With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

Thunder's favorite cryptid is the Thunderbird, a giant eagle prominent in the mythology of many Native American tribes. It is said to be large enough to carry a man off, and in some tales the bird is a harbinger of doom or even justice, grabbing the unrighteous by the shoulders and dragging them across the ground until there's nothing left. The bird brings rain and is responsible for the sound of thunder, signifying it is nearby. As Thunder loves this type of storm, he enjoys the legend of the Thunderbird, secure that his good deeds will assure his righteousness and protection from this defender spirit.

Misty’s favorite cryptid is the squonk. This creature is quite pitiful, and is almost always weeping. It hates the way it looks and will stay out of sight for that reason. If upset enough, for example, when being captured, squonks have been reported to dissolve via their own tears. Misty takes pity on these poor little crypids, and feels bad for how terrible they must feel. They may not be fearsome or as scary as other cryptids, but Misty isn’t one for a spooky legend anyway. She would much rather come face to face with a squonk and try to comfort it rather than running away from a much more intimidating beast.

issie is her favourite cryptid because she is not only a horse aswell, but also because she believes that the love of a mother is the strongest force in the world and that a mother will stop at nothing to protect her children. in issie's case, not even hundreds and thousands of years as a scary beast will stop her from trying to find her child. this trotter feels kind of inspired by this and swears to herself that she will never let her loved ones down, no matter the cost, and hopes others will meet her with the same kind of unconditional and eternal love.

The Dingbat is essentially a hybrid of bird and mammal, with it's short feathered body, large wings, and short antlers. In Lantern's opinion, it just looks like a fat owl with antlers. These creatures are notorious for tormenting hunters and during deer season, will actually catch bullets in mid-air, drink gasoline from the hunters' cars and pull other pranks of the like to make their lives miserable. Being quite the mischief maker himself, Lantern figures he would get on quite well if he were to ever encounter one of these elusive pranksters and maybe even aide them in their quest to protect the forest life from hunters by pulling tricks of his own out of his sleeve.
