I’ve just become a warrior, and my warrior
name’s stormcurl now!

thank you so much for the
seashell. it’s gotten me through
apprenticehood just great! it
really is lucky, mom! it helped me
catch a HUGE crow yesterday!

oh yeah, I came to
ask you something.

can you wake up from your sleep yet?
it’s been soo long! oh, once you wake up,
can you come back to the clan?

then you and me can be a family again!

heehee! I know you’re probably just
going to continue sleeping. but could you..
maybe for this year, maybe just try? even
a visit would be great.”

*sniff*

“well, I hope you’ll be able to come
back this year! the whole clan misses you.
I miss you. please try and come back for
me, okay? even if it’s really comfortable
down there in the ground.

love you!”

the small she-cat listened, awaiting a response
from the ground for a while longer before sighing
and sitting up, ready to go back to camp.

she picked up something…a small, perfect yellow seashell in
her mouth.

that seashell was given to stormcurl by her mother.
“it’s my lucky seashell, and I’m going to let it
be your lucky seashell now.”

“woah, thanks mom!” stormkit called with her eyes
shining in delight and gratefulness.

it’s purpose? her mom said it would be to guide
her through life and protect her until her time comes.

stormcurl always thought it was lucky.
because once, it saved her from a dog
attack.

she was a still a ‘paw, and she
had a run-in with a vicious dog pack.

luckily, she threw the seashell at the
dogs and it stalled them enough for
her to run back to camp.

afterwards, she went back to look for her
lucky shell, hoping it would be undamaged.

and it was, just covered in dog drool.

she remembers this and thinks it was a
the seashell’s doing that she had brought her
lucky charm along with her, otherwise
she would’ve been dog meat.

she always carried it with her after that, and she
even caught some very large prey on certain days
while bringing it along to her hunting sessions.

after her mother passed, she didn’t understand the
concept of death, so she visited her grave everyday to
talk to her, simply thinking she was going to sleep for a very
long time.

she knows that her attempts to ask her mom to come back probably
won’t work, but she knows that one day, the lucky seashell would hopefully
convince her mother again, and she’ll come back to live with stormcurl.

that day hasn’t happened yet, but stormcurl believes it will happen.
it has to.
one day…

“sorry, stormcurl, but she can’t come back. she’s gone.”

Pinetree’s favorite possession is a pinecone. It’s a small, squashed little thing, given to them by their clan leader, Cloverstar. At the time, Pinetree had been a warrior apprentice and was having trouble learning the ropes. No matter how hard they tried, they just couldn’t get it right. They’d felt downtrodden and hopeless, like they’d never be anything more than a burden for their clan. Until one day Cloverstar brought them a present. “It may not look like much, now” Cloverstar told them, “It’s small and been stepped on a few times, looking a little worse for wear at the moment”. Cloverstar picked at a bit of the pinecone, pulling a piece away to reveal a seed inside. “But, if you look closely, you can see its potential. This smooshed little pinecone is full of seeds. And, with a little time, each seed will flourish into a tall, powerful tree” Cloverstar smiled. “Don’t you see? You and this pinecone have a lot in common. You’ve hit hard times, but you’ll get past it. I know you will. And one day you will become exactly who you’re meant to be”. After that conversation, Pinetree switched to Medicine Cat Apprentice, and everything changed. They were so good at it and they enjoyed it, too. Just as Cloverstar had said, they became exactly the cat that they were meant to be. They planted those seeds, letting them become the trees they were meant to be, but they kept the shell of the pinecone. They still have bad days, of course, everyone does. But when they feel especially bad, they hold the pinecone close and visit the trees from its seeds, remembering Cloverstar’s words. They were just Pinepaw, at the time, but they grew into the tall and powerful Pinetree that they are today.

Spirit grew up in a human household with an older woman. As a kitten, she was fearful of thunderstorms so her owner created a plushie for her to cuddle with to feel more comfortable. When her owner passed, Spirit took the plushie with her into the wilderness to remember her sweet owner and still cuddles with it during thunderstorms, even though she has made good friends in ronan's vow.

Poseidon got her name visiting the sea often when she was younger, but not once did she explain why

Many cats of Fallen Light were scared of the water, fearing the disastrous sea monster that roamed its depths; this cat was the exception. It’s calming roars, the smell of salt water, the nice, cool breeze… everything about it brought peace to Poseidon’s mind. On one escape, she discovered an old compass used by the former sailors that came and went from the island across them. While they travelled no more, the stories told by that compass were exquisite.

The needle no longer worked, but a permanent fixation toward the South seas always led her to the edge of a cliff, the most amazing view.

While Poseidon had found other treasures, ranging from mysterious gold coins to entire debris, for some strange reason the compass was her favorite and she never went anywhere without it. Perhaps it was the way it made her feel like a true sea-cat, or maybe it was the way other cats looked at her with more respect. The effects of the compass seemed truly positive, and Poseidon loved it for that

Glass orbs are a sacred tool amongst medicine cats that allow them to be the connecting point between their star ancestors and their rising clan. When a new set of young ones are ready to battle forward every apprentice must set forth into the forest and come back bearing a redeemable token, proving their worth, which is an annul tradition dating back centuries. Although no one knows where the orbs come from, they are said to only appear once every decade. Those who find the orbs are destined to be medicine cats.

A rabbits foot, scarred by the thorns that had entangled it before it’s travel into the stars, it’s fur hardly as soft as before.
Echeveria finds comfort in a piece of something from the beyond as he navigates his conversations with the sky on nights the moon is full, using the foot as a tether to his body while his mind journeys with ancestors long passed.
