They're very proud of their well-tended fur.

They spend an excess of time cleaning it and making sure it's presentable, their lovely golden undercoat is glittery and gorgeous and they've always been admired by others for it so they can't help but feel at times like it's the only significant and recognizable part of them- from the outside, this makes them look quite vain. The truth is that they fear their personality is otherwise bland and boring and that if they weren't so careful about an otherwise unusual coat especially in their clan, they would fade out of the minds of others and become as unremarkable in the mind of their loved ones as they are to themself. This fear keeps them obsessed with appearances, their own and sometimes unwittingly others'. They try to surround themself with less remarkably appearing peers so that they can stand out, though this is mostly subconscious and not something they're aware of it's constantly present in their mind whether or not they stand out.

Anyone who's truly close to them would be able to tell you they have a quiet, kind, and reserved personality that would give way to a playfulness only afforded to very close friends, but that's not a side of themself that they recognize.

racing’flame would say, if asked, that she’s proud of her skills in fighting and hunting. it’s true that he takes great pride in his strength, and often takes time to show off to other members of the alliance. she jumps head-first into things if it has the smallest chance of proving that she really is the best at what she does. however, the thing he’s truly proudest of is the fact that he survived this long on his own to become who he is. racing’flame struggled for many moons of her early life, after all her family either died or refused to take her in. he finally found a place to call home in the lily meadow alliance that wouldn’t ever require him to fend for himself like that again. despite how hard those moons were for her, she made it through, and that is what racing’flame really takes pride in- her ability to persevere and survive.
