"hey quit it! stop biting me!"
cora continued to tug at her sibling's tail, making finn growl angrily.
"cora i said stop!"
"mama says we has to help make pie!" the small litleo cried, and finn rolled their eyes.
the litleo vulpix fusion waved a paw as they snatched back their tail from their sister, "uh huh, yeah sure. i'm not making some pie. baking is for losers!"
cora pouted, watching as her sibling curled up again on the grass without a care for baking. even thought cora was young, she knew baking wasn't for losers! baking was fun! and you got to eat yummy food! maybe she could find a yummy ingredient to change finn's mind.
she turned away from her sibling and started to wander off, looking around for something they could start a pie with. rocks? she'd tasted rocks before! they were hard and a little salty, and mama had told her to spit them out so maybe she shouldn't use rocks. leaves? she had leaves before! they didn't taste like much...and mama had also told her to spit them out...so maybe not leaves.
she continued on her small journey as she came across a fresh patch of moss. moss! she remembers tasting moss before! weird flavor, but she liked it! mama told her to spit that out too...but at least it tasted like something!
the small litleo pawed at the moss, digging up a little bit and trying her best not to get the dirty bits. when she succeeded, she picked up some of the moss and wandered back to where finn was dozing off. she then proceeded to paw her older sibling, resulting in them to groan with frustration.
"what do you want now, cora?" finn grumbled, lifting their head to look at their baby sister.
cora sad, setting the moss on the ground, "make pie!"
"i told you, im not making a dumb pie!"
cora frowned, pointing down at the moss, "in-gree-dant!" she shouted, annoyed.
finn raised an eyebrow at the moss, but then their expression morphed into something filled with deviousness.
"hmmm, y'know, maybe making this pie won't be so bad."
Stolas enters the famous Battle Cafe, looking around. ''I need a strawberry sweet, please!'' He jumps up and lays his head onto the counter, attempting to give the human a cute look over the counter. Of course, the human only heard a few yips and seen Stolas nudge at the one of many sweets they have available. Even a thief needs to know when to use a little charm to get what they want,
''Fine, but just this once. Come back with your trainer next time.'' The barista chuckles and slides the ingredient over before giving the innocent looking nickit a pat on the head. When Stolas was nearly out the door, he paused as the barista spoke. ''Wait.. I know those stripes.. You're the little runt that keeps getting into our garbage!'' When confronted, the nickit gave his signature nervous chuckle and ran.

Nugget and Minerva excitedly gave all their ingredients to Auntie as they gathered them, excited to bake a pie with her. As they set the ingredients on the counter, Auntie patted them on their heads and asked them to wash their paws. The two pokemon did as asked, before the little old appletun handed them both some aprons. Nugget had a struggle with tying his, but Minerva helped him out before tying her own.
“Now, have either of you baked a pie before?” Auntie asked.
“No…but I’ve made potions lots of times!” Minerva said proudly, beaming.
“I don’t know how to cook…” Nugget mumbled embarrassed, his ears turning back as he looked away.
“Well…” Auntie said, having the patience of a saint. “Pie baking is a little like making potions. I’ll teach you.” she assured the two. “First, we make the crust.”
So Auntie brought out her cookbook, and explained to the two how a pie crust is made. The little pokemon looked excited to learn, and hung on every word Auntie told them. Gathering the things they needed from around the kitchen, they added them to the bowl. Although there was a bit of a mishap with the flour, as Nugget accidentally dropped the bag. Flour puffed out from the bag and onto his face, making it completely white, and causing him to sneeze. Minerva couldn’t help but laugh, although she did get a small lecture from Auntie that it isn’t nice to laugh at others.
While Nugget went and cleaned up, the two women stayed in the kitchen and mixed all the ingredients together. When the little nickit came back, the two were nearly done. He felt a little left out, but Auntie assured him it was alright. He’d have the chance to roll the dough in a bit. They had to let the crust sit in the cooler for a little while. In the meantime, the three took a break to have some tea.
When a few hours had passed, the crust was ready to be rolled. Auntie and Nugget each had some dough to roll (Auntie had made the crust for the bottom the day before), while Minerva cut up and mixed all the pie ingredients together. There was rhubarb for the flavor, apricot berries for a blue or green color, curled bean pod paste for a vanilla smell, and marshmallow root for charm. Minerva was happy to put in the work of mixing the things together, occasionally checking in on Auntie and Nugget.
“Alright, are you two ready?” Auntie asked, after placing the bottom crust in her pir pan.
“Yeah!” Minerva nodded excitedly.
“Pie, pie, pie, pie!” Nugget danced around in a circle, just as excited, making Auntie chuckle.
“Alright, alright.” she smiled at the two. “What should the top look like?” she asked.
“A pumpkin!” Minerva’s eyes sparkled.
“Yeah, yeah!” Nugget agreed.
“Alright, a pumpkin it is.” Auntie nodded, and cut out a jack-o-lantern type face for the top of the pie. She then gently placed it on the top of their pie, with the two watching in fascination. All that was left to do was pop in the oven and wait.
