In the dark hours of the night, when luminescences become eyes, HootHoot's cries become curses and the slightest rustle of leaves, the possibility of an attack?
Then the monster of his nightmares has no real form, except that it has all forms. The shape of Fear, the shape of terror, the shape of the unknown. Two large yellow eyes, in a black mass, staring fiercely into the world. Fear.

Eric imagines a giant, shadowy figure that hides in dark corners, with only shadowy tendrils occasionally reaching out into the light. It is just barely lighter than the rest of the shadows it hides among, which is the only reason anyone would be able to tell it is there in the first place. It does not appear to have eyes, nor any other recognizable features, or at least none that can be seen. It is visible only as the silhouette of a tall living shadow that devours any who walk too close to its corner...
