prompt: Begrudgingly, Arrigo sat up straight from his loaf on the log. The ambiance it right with the fire fanning heat and also being the only source of light. The other pokemon's back is facing the darkness of the forest.

"Welcome to the Evernight Woods, we've camped here before but I've never told you about why it was named for it's forever night, especially since we travel in the day time here. Long ago there was a pokemon who shone brighter than all the rest. Yet the brighter the light, the darker the shadow and a new pokemon sprung out, quick to escape from it's creator's shadow."

Arrigo took a pause to lap at some water.

"Yet, the pokemon felt a hole, a yearning to be more. Their solution? Find other pokemon to keep them company. My team camped out and a team member wandered into the forest alone to do their business. They said that it was a great something that slunk out of the forest and grabbed his ankles."

Arrigo paused for a moment, everyone was checking their ankles.

"He tried to scramble away, but the darkness wouldn't let go. It engulfed him and suddenly everything went dark. We only found him stumbling around the forest three days later, swearing he was running around for only a night."

The tree rustled gently. Suddenly something really did slither from the darkness and yanked Arrigo away!

All the pokemon screamed at the top of their lungs.

Baphomet had been silent up until this point, merely observing the other Pokémon. He rose slowly to his feet when his turn approached. “Ladies… gentlemen… and all else who may be present… allow me to tell you the tale of Alola’s Thrifty Megamart. It is a widely accepted belief that the original Thrifty Megamart was destroyed accidentally by Tapu Bulu… but I know that wasn’t the real reason.

The downfall of Ula’ula’s beloved marketplace began with a single Pokémon- an Ekans, I believe. Its trainer had purchased several Oran berries, which upon consuming, did exactly what one would expect… at first. It healed exactly twenty of its lost HP. But something strange happened during their next battle. The Ekans, for no apparent reason, healed in the middle of using a move. Twenty HP. It happened again the next day… twenty HP. It reached full health eventually, but the strange healing did not stop there. Randomly, while in its pokeball, Ekans… lost HP. Exactly twenty HP. It continued losing HP in increments of twenty. It’s trainer suspected poisoning to be the cause, but Nurse Joy reminded them that Ekans is immune to poisoning, due to being a poison type itself. The Ekans was healed by Nurse Joy, but the HP loss continued. It soon became too fast for Nurse Joy to heal, and the Ekans… well. It’s a ghost type now.

More reports of Pokémon rapidly gaining and then losing HP in increments of twenty began piling in. All Pokémon affected shared one thing in common- they had consumed an Oran berry from Thrifty Megamart. The Oran berries were recalled, and all trainers whose Pokémon were affected received financial compensation. But the story doesn’t stop there. All items from Thrifty Megamart began having strange side effects. Potions were similar to Oran berries in that they drained life. Status-healing items caused status conditions so severe the Pokémon could not survive them. Rare Candies caused Pokémon to lose levels until they were eggs again. An investigation was done, and oddly enough, the items were sourced from the same place that every Pokémart got its items. The cause of the problem was the Thrifty Megamart itself… or something inside it.

Thrifty Megamart was later destroyed by Tapu Bulu at the request of the Kahuna Nanu.”

Baphomet failed to tell the audience that he was among the affected Pokémon.

Of course, a performer should be able to adjust to the audience, even as unpracticed as Ashe was with horror, so Ashe decided to give it a try. No pressure to succeed, use it as simple practice for future performances.

prompt: [113] Sitting around the fire, Rin speaks quietly about his past. He is plagued with much regret and is haunted by the fears of turning into what he was prior. So he spreads his story as "The one who survived the Beast". Talking in detail about how he came to releasing the Raid Legendary Beast and then how it all went wrong.

He described the feeling of the beast taking over his mind. How much agony he was in over not having any control at all over his actions.

It's safe to say many others get spooked by this story. But at least it scares them away from making the same mistake he did.

Diz was telling his story quietly, voice low enough that the pokemon gathered around the campfire had to lean in order to hear him clearly. As he talked he waved the talking stick around enthusiastically, needing an outlet for his energy if he was to keep his voice quiet. Next to him Ari flinched back and glared at Diz as she was nearly hit by the stick for the third time during the story.

Thankfully, everyone was so engrossed in Dizzy's storytelling that they didn't notice Chester and Cheddar sneaking around in the bushes. They kept their steps light and quiet, careful so as to not step on a twig and ruin the surprise.

When Diz got to the crescendo of the story everyone was on the edges of their log seats. "When the little Lillipup turned around they were face to face with the jaws of the beast!" He yelled and that was when the twins jumped from the bushes behind him, Cheddar snapping his large teeth loudly. The younger pokemon shrieked with terror and jumped in their seats, Minnow tumbled off of hers backwards and her father quickly reached to lift her up.

alfie was sitting around a campfire, and pokemon all around him sharing spooky stories. he was trying to listen, but in reality all alfie could hear was his own thoughts. it was currently thinking about apples and shampoo. alfie wondered if they would taste good together.

a stick was then passed to xem. alfie thought about taking a bite out of it, but then it remembered that this stick meant it was supposed to tell a scary story. he could do that, he was the master at telling scary stories.

the wurmple cleared xer breath before starting. "once upon a time, there lived a wurmple with long flowing hair that was so bright, it momentarily blinded every pokemon who saw it, even with a single glance. nobody knew how the wurmple came to be, but everyone agreed that it was a curse to all those who saw it cross their path.

"one day, an eevee was walking along a path when they noticed a wurmple up ahead. the eevee ran up to the wurmple to say hello, but luck was not on this eevee's side today. it was the wurmple with the long flowing hair!"

alfie paused for dramatic effect. a yawn was heard. alfie smiled; it was glad the audience was liking xer story.

"the next thing that happened was absolutely catastrophic to say the least. the entire world was sucked into a black hole at that very moment, destroying everything that had ever existed. the end."

even knowing nobody had better story telling skills than alfie, xey passed the stick to the pokemon while shaking a little. that sure was a scary story; it even scared himself!
