prompt: Tomo was an excited ball of energy. Unable to sit still and often seen bouncing, running, jumping, screaming and laughing, their behaviour caused quite the ruckus wherever they were; They would be knocking things over and colliding into others. Very few could handle him and that few were unfortunately too busy to take care of Tomo all the time.
Tomo's uncontrollable behaviour almost led them to be expelled from their hometown. That's when they met Cecil, a blind Armaldo. Cecil was living near a cave just beyond Tomo's hometown when he heard the commotion. Sad to see how such a young child was being treated and also getting a bit lonely in the cave by himself, Cecil volunteered to take care of Tomo. He was worried because it was his first time taking care of someone but it turned out fine. He barely got hurt from Tomo's tackles because of his strong armor and his home was spacious enough for Tomo to run around freely. Quite frankly, Cecil enjoyed their lively energy and Tomo also enjoyed the attention they were getting. It hasn't been that long since they lived together but Tomo and Cecil knew they were already best friends.

Kurai is a pretty introverted Umbrechu, so he doesn't have a lot of close friends. But their little sister Yuki would have to be their closest confidant. Though the two are quite different, they don't usually tend to get on each other's nerves and are super close. They're both night owls, and their biggest disagreement is whether warm or cool nights are better to sleep through. Yuki isn't very wise, so frost goes to Kurai for advice and help if she ever feels concerned. And Kurai tends to get anxious about almost every little thing, but can always count on laid-back Yuki to help him feel just a little better just by being there for him. What strengthened the two's bond the most was a rare time when Yuki was the one feeling anxious for a change.

'Kurai!" the little Snomvee yelled as she burst into their den, swerving around clumsily. "Kuraiii, where are you?" Her spiky tail twitched nervously as her eyes darted around the room.

The Umbrechu emerged from a pile of blankets, groggily blinking their baggy eyes. "What are you doing up so early?"

"Um, I went out to find some berries 'cuz I was hungry, and, and..." Yuki recounted impatiently, sitting down and looking up at the ceiling, "I met this Swadloon! And, um, it yelled at me for stealing its food..."

"You stole its berries?!" Kurai's ears pinned back nervously. He silently wondered how much damage control would have to be done.

"I didn't!" Yuki huffed. "He was lyin' to start a battle. They weren't anywhere near its nest." Kurai gave an unconvinced look, but she quickly continued. "But, um... I said something about needing to eat so I can grow big and strong and evolve."

"...And? You didn't just say that to get away with it, did you..."

"Of course not!" She scrunched her face, shaking her head. "He stopped caring about the berries and just went into a big rant about how evolution is terrible. At first I was like, 'he's crazy' but then it started making sense?"

Kurai sat up straight, listening intently. "Well, tell me about it." He didn't know quite how to feel about this, but he always knew he'd support his sister whether she wanted to evolve or not.

"He says if you don't evolve into something good... then you won't ever be the same! It's why it was so grumpy... A-and I can evolve into so many things, what if it goes wrong?" Tears began to well up in frosts' eyes. "You changed after you evolved too. You got more nervous and, and...distant for a while too." She sniffled uncontrollably, shaking her head to try and stop the tears.

"Hey, hey..." Kurai pulled the smaller Pokemon in for a hug, and she buried her face in their chest as her sobs went on. "I know you heard a lot of things from that Pokemon. But evolution isn't a bad thing." Kurai looked away. "I know I changed a bit when I evolved. But I don't regret it one bit; it was my choice. But it's your choice too, Yuki, and you could stay as you are forever if you're really worried."

"B-but I don't wanna." She wiped her tear-soaked face with a paw. "I wanna get my wings someday. I just don't-" A sob. "What if I'm not ready for it?"

"Listen, if there's anything I know for sure, it's that you will absolutely be ready. We just have an intuition, y'know?"

Yuki looked up at him with watery eyes. "Do you promise?"

The Umbrechu nodded. "I know it. You don't have to worry about stuff like that! It'll all work out nice in the end."

"Heeey... wait a minute. Isn't that the same thing I always tell you?" Yuki squinted, turning her head at her grinning brother.

He giggled. "What else can I say? You're the greatest advice-giver in all of Heartcatch after all." They both shared a laugh as Yuki's fears ebbed away. "But seriously, we should probably go apologize to that Swadloon..."
