Hey there, welcome to the MES Nursery. I'm Padraig. I've been a stud
manager for the Society for years. Looking after these little guys is
all I could want. If you need a hand with breeding your own horses,
I'm here to help. We also have studs and broodmares available to
lease to those needing new blood in their stock.

RULES

A registered and updated stable is required to breed. Offspring must be linked in your stable. The original adopt page should also be linked.
Breedings can only be requested when an artist is open. Artists will post here when they are taking them. Breedings posted when no artists are taking them will be ignored.
When breeding a pony to a sport horse, the artist will randomly choose the resulting breed.
All Mormonts have 5 slots total.
Inbreeding is not allowed. Accidental inbreeding (through lack of user/staff awareness) will result in a sterile foal where discovered.
Foals cannot be bred until 2 weeks from their post date. They do not need to have their adult image.
Breeding with another user's horse requires permission. MES horses do not require permission to be used.
Breedings must be between mares and stallions (not geldings) except through the use of items or events.
Use the supplied form. The user who posts the form will own the foal unless specified otherwise.
Artists have the right to select or to decline any breeding, and may choose not to do already accepted breedings. In such cases we will endeavour to have another staff member to complete it.
Due to the 50% white rule for ponies, breedings between ponies have the following restrictions:

1. Parents must not have more than 3 different white markings between them. (e.g. hooded, belted, and one copy of sabino)
   
2. Parents must only have one copy of sabino between them to eliminate the possibility of double sabino foals.
3. Parents must only have one copy of splash between them to eliminate the possibility of double splash foals.
Due to the differences in genes between ponies and sport horses, breedings between them have the following restrictions in addition to those above:

These rules apply even if the resulting foal is of Sport Horse breed.


1. Genes not seen in ponies must not be present in the sport horse being bred. This includes: overo, rabicano, tobiano, complete dominant white, and pearl. Therefore horses with those genes can only be bred with other sport horses.

The MES has a number of studs and broodmares available for free breeding to MES members. As with other breedings, a registered stable is required.

The Nursery is now open!

The nursery is now up and running after a short delay (thanks for your patience!). Artists will accept breedings as they like -- I'll be starting off by taking 2 breedings! I can't wait to show off the foal lines <3 You might also notice a post on the nursery page titled "studs and broodmares" -- there will soon be some horses available to breed with for those who only have one horse or wish to breed outside of the horses they own. These horses will be adopted out and replaced with new horses over time to keep things fresh.
