Squaring up to the chosen tree, Sunshore gave a little wriggle and launched up the trunk, bits of lichen flying out from underneath their paws. They were out of practice climbing trees, but after a bit of shuffling, they clambered out onto a limb. From below, Zahrek watched in no small amount of amusement.

"Look, I'm finally as tall as you!" Sunshore laughed, draped out across the branch.

[You certainly are! Although, have you thought about how you're going to get down?] Zahrek asked. From the silence that followed, it seemed the answer was no.

and so the wedding bells of the morning chimed - and the ravens laced with onyx and shadows cowered.

so did the fairy.
first those sapphire waters that breathed an intangible curse and now… this.

this tower of citrine and jades, now, glistening in the draping tangle of bronze and gold cast by the morning.

there was no way the fairy would ever make it - not without making a fool out of herself.

slow, steady and sure.

the rhythm of the climb and the thrum of his heart rose in tandem as he reached higher, stretching farther and farther. finding each groove and notch. each brittle pawhold and every steady one. the hidden hollows and the swaying branches.

and for a second, he was… home.

his claws flexed, digging into a small notch at the heart of the tree. the rough grooves pressed into his cheek and the underside of his paws, a gentle caress pulling him back. back home.

like the tap of a hammer and the swing of a mallet upon glowing steel. life in the forge was exactly that - a quest higher. to perfect the craft.

it was familiar. the tempo of the forge and the thrum of his heart, stretching farther and farther. finding the nicks and scratches. each warped piece and every smooth one. the hidden weaknesses and the fraying seams.

a soft, insistent caw sent his gaze flitting upwards. upwards to his little bird perched on the highest branch, bouncing back and forth idly. bored.

it ripped off a loose twig and tossed it at him.

"hey!" a smile broke loose, wide and wild. "tryin' to sabotage me already, huh?"

another twig twacked his nose.

he chuckled. "gotcha. i'll be up soon… try not to fall off that branch till then!"

and once more, to the belligerent squawk of his little friend, he immersed himself into the rhythm and tempo. into that steady, gentle flow of the climb.

slow, steady and slow… to make it to the top. the very top.

Tree climbing? Now THIS was more like it! His clan LIVED in a tree, he had this in the bag! Crowcall's grin was near ear to ear as he took a moment to sharpen his claws, rub a bit of dust on the pawpads to give him better grip. "You all better be ready to eat my dust!" He proclaimed, before taking a running leap and starting towards the tree. Up! Up! Up!

He would show them all once and for all that he was the best! Mwahaha! Nothing could stop him!

Blurb: Frogpaw isn’t the best at climbing, not having fur to protect him against the bark from scraping him up so he decided to help with the safety squad and counselors, pulling out an inflatable pool from his onesie pouch and blowing it up before filling it with Squishmallows to make the landing soft for anyone who fell. Setting up nearby with juice boxes to distribute when each cat took their turn.

Tree climbing! What fun! It seems like they were truly ending the camp with a bang, at least to Haywing.

As with most of the camp's activities so far, tree climbing was something he enjoyed! Most cats enjoyed making their way up, but most of the time they also would get stuck, unable to figure out their way down. Haywing though, well, he's climbed up and down a few trees in his time. He knows how to get himself unstuck, how to get down safely.

Of course, this isn't something he tells the other campers and the counselors. After all, if he ends up failing, or falling, or needing to be helped down anyways, that would be extremely embarrassing. It's been a while since he's climbed trees after all; best to be on the safe side.

Still, when it comes down to it, he's ready and raring to go!! Up the tree he is going to go, and he will do his best at climbing it!
