Prompt: When Snek was born, he was blind. Everything felt heavy and he had no senses other than touch. Everyone wondered what was wrong, when the baby kit was not making a single sound and only responding to touch. His head was constantly lolling to the side and then being shaken.

His mother called over an exorcicat. The exorcicst identified the problem to be that Snek's brain had been accidentally placed into his tail. No wonder he couldn't sense anything!

The exorcicat fixed Snek up right away. Snek could now see, hear, smell, and taste.

The exorcicat left, after a hefty sum of fresh-kill was paid.

1 day later, Snek found that though his head worked now, his tail didn't anymore.

They called the exorcicat. He stroked his chin and told them that Snek's soul was now in his tail, causing trouble. Whoops. He'd fix it, but they needed to pay him again.

When he'd had a dream that night, so long ago, of a large, anthropomorphic snake telling him that he'd one day father a tapir, he hadn't thought much of it. Well, the snake had been weird, especially since it sorta looked like him?? But fathering a tapir? Easy. Normal, even. He figured that just meant he'd find a mate who could morph into a tapir, or at least something similar, and one of their kits would inherit the same ability.

No.

Many moons later, on the third or fourth most confusing (although probably still the weirdest) day of his life, he gave birth to a tapir in a nest of leaves in the middle of nowhere. It wasn't a cat. It was a full blooded tapir.

Well, kind of. It turns out it was a robot tapir. He hadn't figured that out himself, though; the moon had dropped down through the trees to pay him a visit. It told him itself, the face of it extending out like a noodle until it became the anthropomorphic snake of his dreams. Only huge, and made of the moon. It told him not only that his son, his beautiful tapir son, was a robot, but that he had briefly become one too, as he brought it into the world.

He'd thanked the moon for this information, admist the flooding and burning trees it had brought about (not to worry, it had swathed him and his son in the loving embrace of a Moon Protective Forcefield). He and the moon had shared another, more personal embrace, before it returned to its throne in the sky, the anthropomorphic snake facing out of it for the rest of time.

He and his tapir son have lived happily since. He just hopes that someday, the damages the moons visit caused stop causing so much trouble - he'd like to sleep in his nest without the ocean visiting him for just one night, thank you.

Cirillo had gone all 72 moons of his life without anything too out of the ordinary happening. Not that his life was boring, by any means, but he didn't have a stash of wacky stories to tell around a fire. Sure, he felt a little left out when his crewmates, even the young ones, got to tell great tales of adventure. But at the end of the day, he was glad for his calm, routine life.

What he didn't know, however, was that was about to change.

Xe awoke one morning to the ship rocking violently. Eyes flying open, the cat looked around to see if there was something wrong. The ship, your average looking trireme, wasn't there. The floating and rocking and bobbing was because xe was layed atop a large chunk of marble.

Marble? Floating?

Where was the ship?

"Kallisto?" Ciri called out for their captain. The only sound they could hear was the sloshing of water around their marble-boat. The cat scrambled to his paws and peered over the edge, into the bright blue waves. To his shock, he was staring back at his face placed upon a very, very long neck. It was as if he had be turned into a snake!

If he was snake-like, did that mean he was like a Medusa? Was the marble he was floating on... one of his crewmates?

Before he could get any further with that thought, the marbled below him errupted, the sound of a thousand bells chiming as it did. A wave washed over Ciri, sucking them under the depths. Panic rising in their throat, they struggled to rise to the surface.

Their eyes now open, Cirillo saw that he was floating in some kind of pink jelly-like substance. He found that he could breath, and reached a paw out to the surface.

But it was solid. He was trapped.

The startling realization almost made him miss that he no longer had a paw, but a fin. It was green and glittery. Looking down, he realized his whole body had changed. He was a fish. I guess the breathing underwater part makes sense now... Xe thought to xyrself. But can fish even breath in jelly?

But what was jelly? He'd never seen anything like this, and he had definitely never heard the word jelly. How did he know what to call it?

He took a bite. It tasted like sand.

He blinked.

He was on a beach, with a mouthful of sand.

Huh.

He stood, finding that his body was heavier than before. He had 4 legs again. The ocean lapped at his feet. It was normal again. Blue, and watery. There was a squawk behind him, and he spun around to see 5 chickens staring up at him. His mouth watered, oh Heavens he was hungry... Maybe just a bite?

The cat darted forward, clutching one of the chickens in his jaws, prepared to chomp.

"HEY! DUDE! WHAT THE --"

The world spun and swirled and colours danced before their eyes, drooping and mixing until everything was white. Hot sea breeze smacked him across the face. He opened his eyes once more, bracing for some other wackiness to appear.

But everything was normal.

Aside from the fact that he had his jaws sunk into a cat. Pink fur fluffed up, a cranky face glared at him. It was Myrto, the first mate. Blood rushed to Ciri's face as he flew back.

"I'M SO SORRY I HAD THIS WEIRD DREAM OR SOMETHING AND THERE WAS JELLY AND A ROCK AND SOME CHICKENS AND I WAS HUNGRY AND I THOUGHT I'D JUST HAVE A BITE BUT OH MY SEA I THINK YOU WERE THE CHICKEN AND I'M SO SO SORRY MYRTO."

Myrto snorted, lightly smacking Cirillo's side.

"You're a weird one."

Ciri sighed. Maybe accepting weird glowing mushrooms from Demeter is a bad idea. But at least everything had just been a weird delusion.

"Oh, Ciri, why is your neck like that?"

Ciri peered over the edge of the ship, looking into the water below. He still had the snake-neck.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
