fangflight's a follower, not a fool. but now crowcrawl's gone and there's an undeserving usurper everyone is calling charge instead.


if fangflight knows one thing, it is that she is no fool. and anyone who assumes this about her immediately earns a low growl and a side eye. she may be a follower, yes. and she admits that she is not all that intelligent. she will easily admit that she is too quick on her claws, that the emotions that rise in her chest and swell next to her heart are often what guide her instead of her mind.

but she is not a fool.

when she joined this new clan, an outsider fresh off an alley fight with one of their runners, many were quick to judge. she was quick to bristle at them, to avoid them. and as such, she scared off a majority of the cats who may have been helpful and friendly. she would narrow her eyes and grumble because she saw a look of pity in their eyes. she would pin her ears to her head. she was no charity case. she could take care of herself. and crowcrawl had appreciated that about her. she had blossomed under his wing, under his careful direction and training. she had admired him, she had trusted him, and, most of all, she had believed in him.

and now he was dead and gone and there was a cat in his place that should not be there.

once again fangflight has been cast aside, lumped in as one of crowcrawl's followers. she hates the new looks and glances she receives now - the clan had trusted her, once. she was as good a fighter as any of the other scrappers, but now she had a hard time even getting on a patrol. she hated being ignored. she hated being shunned. she hated being treated as if she was more dangerous now than she was before.

fangflight does not speak often to other cats anymore. she is unimpressed with this new cat they call charge, although she will admit that he was quick to show faith in one of crowcrawl's other followers, the rightful fallback smolderingkestrel. but, as she will readily tell anyone who asks, she is not a cat to think. she is a cat to act. and she is sick and tired of waiting around and watching all of this inaction, watching their new charge hem and haw over everything from who to send out hunting to where to put a new nest to what to do with crowcrawl's kits and their apprenticeship. she is unimpressed with the looks she is on the receiving end of. she is unimpressed by the whispering, the creeping, the stepping on eggshells around her.

she is unimpressed and unamused and angry.
